Communal harmony was on full display in Sambhal district as Muslims, along with authorities, showered rose flowers on kanwariyas. The violence resulted in the death of four people. In Barabanki, District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi and Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya supervised the aerial shower on devotees, who gathered at the ancient Mahadeva Shiva temple in Ramnagar tehsil. Virendra Kumar Awasthi, chief priest of the Mahadeva temple, lauded the initiative, calling it a heartfelt tribute to the unwavering faith of the devotees. Downsizing of DEOs in taluk, dist hosps hits online services
Mysuru: The downsizing of data entry operators (DEOs) in taluk and district-level hospitals by the health and family welfare department has severely affected online services over the last two weeks in Chamarajanagar district. The health department appointed five DECs in taluk govt hospitals and ten in district hospitals under the e-hospital initiative of the National Health Mission scheme to facilitate the registration of patients, clearing discharge summary bills, and online payments. Thirteen DEOs were relieved from duty with effect from May 1, leading to disruption in inpatient registration. Under the e-hospital initiative, the department appointed five DEOs in Gundlupet, Yelandur, and Kollegal, ten in the District Hospital, and one data entry operator in the District Leprosy Eradication Unit hospital. However, in its recent order, the state health and family welfare department downsized its DEO staff to one for each taluk hospital, five in district hospitals from ten DEOs, and cancelled DEOs for the District Leprosy Eradication Unit. The govt directed all these hospital managements to maintain online services with the existing one DEO and five DEOs in the district hospital on B Rachaiah Road. As the govt downsized DEOs, patients were queuing up, and heavy rush was witnessed, leading to disruptions in health services and the discharge of patients in taluk and district state-run hospitals. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Keep Your Home Efficient with This Plug-In elecTrick - Save upto 80% on Power Bill Learn More Undo "As most of the patients who are availing treatment at govt-run hospitals are poor and from rural areas, they have to line up and wait long hours to receive registration certification, make payment for lab services, and clear discharge summary bills. This also causes delays in seeking transfers to other hospitals, obtaining death certificates, birth certificates, and several other services. By downsizing its staff, the state health department must restore DEO services to ensure the smooth functioning of taluk and district hospitals," demanded Mahadeva, Chamarajanagar District Soliga Tribal Welfare Association vice-president. Chamarajanagar district health officer Dr Chidambara S said that district health authorities downsized DEO staff in all taluk and district hospitals following an order from its higher-ups. However, the district health authorities continued to maintain online services with existing DEOs working at its hospitals without causing much disturbance to patients, he said.
