Mouse droppings discovered in luxury suites at Old Trafford on eve of Europa League final

Image Source: Getty Manchester United's famous Old Trafford stadium is in trouble again after mouse droppings were found in its fancy dining areas. This bad news comes right before the Europa League final, worrying fans and visitors. The stadium's food hygiene rating is still only two stars, which is disappointing for such a big club. Mouse droppings discovered across Old Trafford's premium areas Just before the Europa League final, Manchester United got bad news when health inspectors found mouse droppings in seven important spots at Old Trafford during a mid-April check, as the Daily Mail reported on May 20, 2025. The droppings were in posh places like the Ambassador Lounge, Manchester Suite, and Number 7 suite, with some even under a buffet bar in the Number 7 suite, where seats cost £550 per person. — MirrorFootball (@MirrorFootball) The Manchester Suite, priced at £600 per person, had lots of droppings too. The club got a low two-star hygiene rating last November and hasn't improved since. Inspectors also found dirty areas and a pesto container mislabeled for a month instead of eight days. Manchester United has a strong pest-control plan with weekly checks and quick fixes. With 29 kitchens at the stadium, keeping everything clean is hard, but the club works to solve the problem quickly. The stadium's location near a canal and railway brings more mice, especially in winter when they look for warm spots. According to inspectors, the club is working hard to get rid of pests, but some effort is still needed to prevent mice from getting near the food. The Tiger Stadium also has roofs that let water in, which people debate whether to repair it or start planning for a new 100,000-seat stadium. These hygiene issues might push the club to choose a new stadium with better pest control and cleaner facilities. Manchester United is working with pest experts and the council to fix things, but the two-star rating shows there's still work to do. With the Europa League final coming, the club wants to make sure its dining areas are safe and clean for everyone. This hygiene issue at Old Trafford is a big worry, especially with the Europa League final so close. Manchester United is trying to fix things, but mouse droppings in pricey suites upset fans and guests. The club says it acts fast when problems are found, but keeping 29 kitchens clean is tough. A new stadium might solve these issues for good. Get IPL 2025 match schedules , squads , points table , and live scores for CSK , MI , RCB , KKR , SRH , LSG , DC , GT , PBKS , and RR . Manchester United face new humiliation as mouse droppings found in health review

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has endured a woeful time of things since arriving at Old Trafford and the Manchester United stadium has been hit with another scathing review Manchester United's iconic Old Trafford home appears to be going out on an awful note as mouse droppings were allegedly found in another woeful hygiene review. The Red Devils' current stadium was hit with a brutal blow in December upon the first review. United saw their rating fall from four stars all the way down to two. The past few months have been spent attempting to fix the issues identified in that review but it doesn't appear to have worked. ‌ According to Mail Online, the fresh report has offered a number of concerns. It is suggested that mouse droppings were found across seven areas of Old Trafford including the Ambassador Lounge, the Manchester Suite and under the buffet bar in the Number 7 suite - the latter of which is dubbed as one of the most stylish spaces in the stadium, with prices starting at around £550. ‌ Supporters are also charged around £600 for tickets in the Manchester Suite where a 'large number of droppings' were found as per the report. As quoted by The Mail, a United spokesperson said: ' Manchester United implements a robust pest-control system throughout Old Trafford. 'Multiple weekly checks are made in all catering areas and stringent measures are taken to ensure levels of hygiene and cleanliness are high wherever food is stored, prepared and served. If incidences of this nature do occur at the stadium, immediate and appropriate action is taken.' Away from the suites, the report revealed a number dirty areas, with the labelling of certain foods a particular concern. In United's defence, both of those issues were immediately addressed. And inspectors noted that 'it is evident that significant work has taken place to control the mice activity on site', while they said that the club 'needs to persevere with the measures being implemented to eradicate activity within food areas.' The latest Old Trafford report comes just months after plans for a mega-money rebuild of the club was announced. Speaking after the £2bn plans were unveiled, Jim Ratcliffe said: 'The north of England has won 10 Champions League medals, London has two. But London has Wembley, Twickenham, Wimbledon and the Olympic Village. ‌ "The north of England deserves a stadium where England can play football, where we can hold the Champions League final, and one befitting of Manchester United's stature. Our current stadium has served us brilliantly for the past 115 years, but it has fallen behind the best arenas in world sport."
