LeBron James Ken doll sparks long lines and big sales
Mattel's first ever Ken doll based on a professional athlete has generated a frenzy of interest both in stores and online since it became available for purchase. The new LeBron James 'Kenbassador' Barbie doll carried a retail price of $75 and first went on sale last Saturday at Undefeated's La Brea location in Los Angeles, where fans and collectors started lining up two days before the doll hit shelves. One man even showed up dressed in a LeBron Lakers uniform and followed by a full choir singing a parody of Michael Jackson's 'Man in the Mirror' about the NBA's all-time points leader. The line for LeBron James' Barbie Kenbassador doll at UNDEFEATED today 🤯 — Nice Kicks (@nicekicks) April 13, 2025 On Monday, the doll was also made available through Target, Amazon, Walmart and Mattel Creations, and is now listed as sold out on all of those platforms. The day leading up to the doll's midnight online release on April 14, eBay users searched for it over 760 times per hour according to the company. Current searches for 'LeBron Barbie' on eBay reveal the dolls selling for over $100 on average and a rare autographed version sold for as much as $3,000. Advertisement StockX has seen similar high demand for the doll, with an average resale price of $118, a 57 percent premium compared to the regular retail price. StockX says the doll is the site's number one collectibles release ever with over 1,400 transactions on its release day, surpassing the previous record set by the Supreme Hot Wheels Fleet Flyer + 1992 BMW M3 from 2019, which had 1,170 opening day sales. With the instant success of James' Kenbassador doll, it's likely only a matter of time before another athlete gets the 'Ken' treatment. More NBA dolls? Steph Curry? What about the NHL's newly crowned all-time leading goal scorer Alex Ovechkin? He could be the first Ken doll with a fashionably hockey appropriate missing tooth. Then there has to be a Tom Brady one, right? Star athletes known just as much for their pre-game fashion will likely be considered given one of the biggest features of the James doll is that he is not in an NBA uniform, which means there are plenty of options out there. Michael Jackson tribute act set to perform in Carlisle
A Michael Jackson tribute artist is set to perform in Carlisle. CJ, the star of the show "Man in the Mirror," will be at The Old Fire Station on Sunday, December 28. The social media sensation has been perfecting his tribute to the King of Pop since he was four years old. He said: "I've loved Michael Jackson for as long as I can remember. "I was about four years old when I saw one of his concerts on TV and I was just blown away. "From that moment on, I was obsessed - copying his dance moves, singing his songs, trying to do everything just like he did. "When I got a bit older, around 20, I realised I could actually turn this into a career. "I'd spent so many years practising and performing that it felt natural. "For me, it's not just about looking or sounding like him - it's about capturing the feeling he gave people. "That's what I try to bring to the stage every night." CJ's dedication has paid off, with a recent backstage video of him singing Billie Jean a cappella racking up over 12 million views and more than half a million likes across TikTok and Facebook. Fans flooded the comments, calling him "the closest to MJ I've ever seen" and saying "if you closed your eyes you would have thought it was Michael Jackson." The "Man in the Mirror" show is a full-scale tribute concert that aims to recreate one of Michael Jackson's iconic live shows with precision. Backed by a live band, dancers, and light and video production, the show pays tribute to MJ's legendary style, with costumes and choreography that mirror his most memorable music video moments. CJ said: "It's not just about imitating Michael's moves or singing his songs. "It's about embodying his spirit and bringing his essence to the stage. "I believe Man in the Mirror gives people the most authentic tribute to his live performances. "Just a little taste of what it might have been like to see him in concert." Tickets for the show are available online at or by calling 0333 772 3648.

How did the LeBron James TikTok trend start? Here's the origin (plus our favorite songs)
It's no question LeBron James is one of, if not the, greatest basketball players of all time. Now, he may be at the center of one of the greatest TikTok trends ever. Over the past few weeks, creators everywhere have taken popular songs and changed the lyrics to glorify the NBA's all-time leading scorer. James himself even discussed the phenomenon in a recent interview. But how did it all start? And what are some of the best remixes out there? We have you covered. According to Fox Sports, the trend started with Vincent Jordan, a 24-year-old basketball fan who just wanted to celebrate James scoring his 50,000th career point. After the four-time NBA champ reached the milestone March 4, Jordan (funny last name, huh?) recorded and posted an R&B track featuring his soulful voice just singing "LeBron, LeBron, LeBron James" over and over again. "I'm not really good when it comes to lyrics," Jordan said to Fox Sports. "So, I couldn't really come up with anything else." That video now has over 6.8 million views on TikTok. Numerous TikTokers have followed suit, creating songs about James in a collection the internet calls LeBronify. "I can't even describe the feeling," Jordan said. "It's like when you tell a joke that you're not realizing is funny, an off-hand joke, but you have the whole room laughing and you get that warm feeling inside. That's the best way I can describe it. It's something I did without thinking too much about it." Yes, James addressed it after the Lakers' game against the Houston Rockets on Monday. "Yeah, I mean it's almost impossible (not to hear)," James said, per Fox Sports. "But my youngest son Bryce actually showed me one, I think it was yesterday. Yeah, it was yesterday. And we got a good laugh at it. But there's quite a few out there, for sure." The LeBronify collection is overflowing, from the popular remake of Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" to many others. Here are some of our favorites. The song that started it all HAS to be on here. This may be the most popular, with the Lakers' social media team even putting the lyrics in its captions. Johnny Cash would have loved LeBron James. We just know it. This is for all our millennials out there. OK, but why does everyone have such good voices? The LeBronify emo collection actually goes hard. Adam Levine would be proud of this one. We know James loves Kendrick Lamar. I feel like he might just be listening to this during his pregame routine. Ready to get in your feels? Any remix of a Justin Bieber song is fire. Another hit for the emo catalog. "For decades there hasn't been basic science research on addiction. CAN is determined to make up for lost time. It was Jason's dream to create new affordable medications to stop cravings and vaccines to stop opioid addiction," Nancy Davis said during her opening and experts gathered to raise funds for CAN's 19 initiatives. The evening included a cocktail reception, dinner, and a live auction featuring a private yacht charter aboard the Grand Illusion with a private chef, a race-car experience with Aviotti Racing, and a signed Retna event showcased performances by several notable musicians. Rufus Wainwright followed with renditions of "Going To A Town," "Across the Universe," and "Hallelujah." Scout Willis performed her original songs "Last Night" and "Over and Over," while Luke K closed the evening with his original track "Poison."The funds raised will support CAN's team of doctors and researchers from prestigious institutions, including Mount Sinai, Harvard, Yale, University of Maryland, UCLA, Scripps, University of Washington, UC Davis, University of Kentucky, Johns Hopkins, and University of Texas Medical Branch. The event was made possible by featured sponsor partners L'agence and opened the event with a powerful message: "We need to understand that addiction is a disease, it is not a choice. We must replace judgment with actions, stigma with solutions. Imagine a world where nobody becomes an addict, where no parent fears 'the call,' where addiction is just treatable like any other disease. That day is on the horizon."
