Mansour bin Zayed attends Abu Dhabi Summer Sports
16 July 2025 21:46 ABU DHABI (WAM) His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, on Wednesday, attended the Abu Dhabi Summer Sports (ADSS), organised by ADNEC Group and Abu Dhabi Sports Council at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed met with the organisers and was briefed on the sports programmes and diverse activities featured at Abu Dhabi Summer Sports, which include individual and team sports as well as family- and child-oriented events, offering a comprehensive experience that caters to all segments of Highness toured the venue's key facilities, which comprise the largest setup of its kind in the region, covering more than 37,000 square metres. The event includes over 52 enclosed and air-conditioned courts and pitches for more than 12 team sports, all built to the highest international standards, in addition to a 1.2-kilometre indoor running Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed also participated in a friendly volleyball match alongside athletes from the community, reflecting his commitment to direct engagement with community initiatives and supporting sports activity during the summer Highness praised the level of organisation and the event's role in creating an inclusive sports environment that encourages healthy and active lifestyles, especially during summer. UAE, Kuwait sign MoUs to boost cooperation
The signings took place during His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed's official visit to Kuwait and were held at Bayan Palace. These agreements are intended to broaden the scope of strategic partnerships between the two nations and to support their mutual development priorities. The agreements and memorandums include the following: An MoU for cooperation in the health sector, signed by Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health and Prevention, and Dr. Ahmed Abdul Wahab Al-Awadi, Minister of Health of Kuwait. An MoU between the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) and the Sheikh Soud Nasser AlSabah Kuwait Diplomatic Institute, signed by Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, UAE Minister of State, and Abdullah Ali Al Yahya, Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait. An MoU in the field of land transport and roads infrastructure, signed by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Dr Noura Mohammed Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works & Municipality of Kuwait. An MoU in the field of social development affairs, signed by Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, UAE Minister of Community Empowerment, and Dr. Amthal Hadi Al-Huwaila, Minister of Social Affairs, Social Development, and Family and Childhood of Kuwait. An MoU in industry and advanced technology, signed by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Khalifa Abdullah Dhahi Al-Ajeel Al-Askar, Minister of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait. An MoU in the field of electricity, water, and future energy, signed by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy of Kuwait. An MoU in the field of promoting direct investment, signed by Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, UAE Minister of Investment, and Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director-General of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA). An MoU in the field of data protection and information exchange in joint security projects, signed by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Interior, and Major General Ali Al-Adwani, Acting Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior of Kuwait. An agreement was also signed earlier on the "Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Partnership" launched by MGX, BlackRock, Global Infrastructure Partners, and Microsoft, which now includes the Kuwait Investment Authority as a partner. In addition, a contract was signed between the Kuwait's Ministry of Defence and the UAE's EDGE Group for the procurement and delivery of several 'Falaj 3' class missile boats.

Mansour bin Zayed attends luncheon hosted by Sultan bin Hamdan
His Highness exchanged cordial conversations with the attendees, focusing on the importance of camel racing and the role of the annual closing festival, 'Al Wathba Final 2025', in strengthening the stature of this traditional sport. The festival is considered one of the region's most prominent events, consistently achieving success across various levels. His Highness also toured the new 8-kilometer camel racing track in Al Wathba, which was inaugurated in conjunction with the start of the Al Wathba Final 2025. The track was completed in just 60 days, under the direct supervision of H.H., marking a qualitative leap that opens new horizons for the sport of camel racing. His Highness praised the infrastructure of the new track, emphasising that the growth and spread of camel racing are a result of the continued support and patronage of the wise leadership. This has made it one of the most prominent traditional sports, highly regarded by heritage enthusiasts. The reception featured traditional performances and folk songs presented by heritage troupes, celebrating the presence of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed. The vibrant cultural display reflected national pride in the country's rich heritage and conveyed a spirit of welcome and appreciation.
