The luxurious backdrop to more than 40 seasons of ABC's "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" is getting a facelift, courtesy of some of the lovestruck hopefuls who have stayed in its bedazzled halls. Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of "Bachelor" producer Warner Bros. Unscripted Television and home renovation network HGTV, announced a new series on May 14: "Renovating the Bachelor Mansion" (working title). The new unscripted show will see former "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" contestants, who (hopefully) have skills in interior design and home renovation, returning to compete in design challenges on the property in hopes of winning a cash prize. The new series is set for 2026 on HGTV and the newly redubbed HBO Max. The famed "Bachelor" mansion is located in Aurora Hills, CA, and is a sprawling, Mediterranean-style villa that has previously been rented out on Airbnb for $6000 a night. It has been the setting for catfights, first kisses, group dates, breakups and countless rose ceremonies since the reality dating franchise began in 2002. It might look a little different in future seasons after the former bachelors and bachelorettes get their hands, and sledgehammers, on it. The new series was announced at WBD's 2025 upfront presentation in New York, an annual event in which networks and streaming services show off upcoming content to advertisers in the hopes of selling commercial time. Other new series were announced at the event, including toe-tapping Shark Week addition "Dancing With Sharks" (working title) for Discovery Channel, "Guy's Flavortown Games" on Food Network featuring Guy Fieri and a new "90 Day Fiancé" spinoff on TLC, "90 Day: Hunt For Love."

Following the success of ABC's inaugural senior-aged spinoff of The Bachelor in 2023, season two of The Golden Bachelor has been officially renewed, and a new star has been selected to hand out roses. A premiere date, along with the rest of the cast cast, will be announced later. Owens, who was born in Detroit and played college football for the University of Michigan Wolverines, had a nine-year NFL career as a linebacker with the Los Angeles Rams. The Bachelorette has also been put on pause for its 22nd season, with no news about when the female-led series will return. The first season of The Golden Bachelor starred Gerry Turner in the lead role. The spinoff was a hit out of the gate, with the show's launch marking a three-year high in total viewers for any The Bachelor show and reinvigorating buzz around the veteran Warner Bros. and ABC reality TV franchise. Turner, 72, found love on his season with Theresa Nist, whom he married in a televised wedding on ABC in January 2024. Just three months after their vows, however, the couple announced they were divorcing in a joint interview on Good Morning America. Nearly a year later, Turner revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer, which complicated their relationship. Still, Turner's debut season nabbed the Golden Bachelor the best franchise ratings since the 2020 finale of Matt James' The Bachelor. Following its success, ABC launched the Golden Bachelorette with Golden Bachelor alum Joan Vassos, who got engaged to Chock Chapple during her 2024 season finale.
