Melanie Griffith, 67, looks very slender in her size 2 jeans as she heads to dinner with a TV honcho

Melanie Griffith looked very slender when she stepped out for dinner in Los Angeles on Sunday. The 67-year-old Oscar nominee, who is a size two, was modeling a pair of tight skinny jeans in a faded blue denim that hugged her slender curves. And the ex-wife of Don Johnson added a V-neck white T-shirt she tucked into her jeans with an unbuttoned caramel beige jacket with ruffled sleeves. The daughter of iconic The Birds actress Tippi Hedren added white lace fingerless gloves that felt like Madonna 's Like A Virgin era in the 1980s. The mother to movie star Dakota Johnson was not alone. The blonde Working Girl actress was joined by a TV honcho named Chip Sullivan. Chip is the Executive Vice President, Communications, at NBC Entertainment where he is responsible for strategy, development and execution of public and media relations for the network and Universal Television, according to his Linkedin page. Melanie looked incredible in a brown sheer turtle neck top which she tucked into a pair of blue jeans. Wrapping up in a beige trench coat, the actress added height to her frame with a pair of brown boots and completed her look with a matching handbag. Melanie shares Dakota with fellow actor Don Johnson who she was briefly married to for less than a year in 1976. Dakota was also joined by her brother Jesse Johnson, who is the son of Dakota's father Don Johnson and actress Patti D'Arbanville. And Melanie's daughter Stella Banderas with ex Antonio Banderas was also there. In Materialists, Dakota stars as Lucy, a New York City matchmaker whose business gets complicated as she finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex. She stars in the film opposite Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. Dakota also recently signed on to star opposite Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett in Verity, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel by the same name. The 50 Shades of Grey star is currently in a relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The pair were seen holding hands on a trip to India in January which came after a source shut down rumors they had split. In March 2024, an insider told People that the pair had been engaged for 'years' but 'were in no rush to get married.' 'Sure, they've had issues and taken breaks in the past, but things are great now,' they added. 'They both love their career. They are balancing things the best they can.' More recently, in August 2024, their rep debunked split rumors to E! and insisted they 'are happily together.' Last year, Martin made a rare remark about his fiancée as he called her one of his 'best friends' in an interview with Rolling Stone. 'It is important to say that [romantic love] is such a big factor in everything, even though it feels right to keep it precious and private; I'm not denying its power,' he told the magazine. While they have famously kept their romance out of the spotlight, back in 2022, she recalled to Vanity Fair how they met through a friend and 'never really left each other.' Additionally, she has spoken about loving his two children Apple, 20, and Moses, 18, who he shares with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, with 'all' her heart.

Dakota Johnson Details Being Cut Off Financially From Dad Don Johnson

Originally appeared on E! Online Dakota Johnson was fifty shades of determined to make it on her own when she officially began her acting career. After not getting accepted into the famous Juilliard School in New York City, the daughter of actors Don Johnson and ex-wife Melanie Griffith went on to forge her own path into Hollywood, without a dime from her father. "I didn't get in and my dad cut me off because I didn't go to college," the 35-year-old told her Materialists costar Pedro Pascal for an Elle U.K. interview, published May 14. "So, I started auditioning. I think I was 19 when I did The Social Network, and then little jobs and stuff after that." Dakota—who made her onscreen acting debut as a child alongside her mom in the actress' then-husband Antonio Banderas' 1999 film Crazy in Alabama before appearing in a scene with Justin Timberlake in 2010's The Social Network, and years later, the Fifty Shades trilogy—remembers struggling financially after being cut off by her dad. "For a couple of years it was hard to make money," she told Pedro. "There were a few times when I'd go to the market and not have money in my bank account or not be able to pay rent, and I'd have to ask my parents for help." Dakota continued, "I'm very grateful that I had parents that could help me and did help me. But it certainly was not fun. The auditioning process, as you know, is the f--king worst." Dakota has spoken before about how she was made to start an acting career on her own after high school after her dad cut her off financially. "He said, 'If you go to college, you still get an allowance,'" the actress said about her dad in a February 2024 Today interview. "And I was like, 'Well, I'm going to be an actress.' So he was like, 'Alright, well you're on your own. I was cut off." She said she turned to modeling to make rent money as she pursued acting. "I definitely like had moments where I couldn't afford groceries and things like that and needed to ask my mom to help me," she said. "She was the nice one." More from E! Don himself has also previously shared insight into the college ultimatum. "We have a rule in the family," the Nash Bridges alum said on Late Night With Seth Meyers in 2021, "that if you stay in school, you get to stay on the payroll." He said that toward the end of Dakota's high school career, he asked his daughter if she wanted to visit some colleges. "And she went, 'Oh, no, I'm not going to college,'" he said. "And I went, 'OK. Well, you know what that means. I mean, you won't be on the payroll anymore, and how are you gonna manage?' And she says, 'Don't you worry about it.'" Nepo baby Dakota Johnson talks asking parents for money and not getting into college

Last year, Dakota Johnson dubbed the scrutiny of nepo babies 'incredibly annoying and boring' but she's certainly had a leg up in the acting industry as the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. The 35-year-old Madame Web action star also grew up with Antonio Banderas as her stepfather and Tippi Hedren as her 95-year-old grandmother. Don warned all his children they'd be deprived of their allowance if they didn't attend college, so Dakota auditioned for The Juilliard School with monologues from William Shakespeare and Steve Martin. 'That f***ing process was so awful and terrifying. When you get accepted for an audition, it's a two-day long chorus-line thing. You're supposed to get called back for a second audition, and I didn't,' Johnson recalled in her ELLE UK cover story on Wednesday. 'They were like, "You don't stand a chance. But thank you, I appreciate it."' Miss Golden Globe 2006 admitted she 'really didn't want to go to college' anyway but was dismayed at the idea of being 'cut off' by the 75-year-old Miami Vice alum and admitted 'it was hard to make money.' By age 18, Dakota used her famous name to easily sign with IMG for modeling in 2006 and two years later she signed with the William Morris Agency for acting. 'There were a few times when I'd go to the market and not have money in my bank account or not be able to pay rent, and I'd have to ask my parents for help,' Johnson lamented. 'I'm very grateful that I had parents that could help me and did help me. But it certainly was not fun. The auditioning process, as you know, is the f***ing worst.' The Independent Spirit Award winner noted that her 67-year-old mother 'was the nice one' when it came to hand-outs. Dakota also has Melanie to thank for her big-screen debut, at age nine, in Antonio's dismally-reviewed directorial debut Crazy in Alabama in 1999. Before landing her breakout role in the Fifty Shades trilogy, Johnson first caught the industry's attention as panty-clad Harvard University student Amelia in David Fincher's 2010 drama The Social Network. 'When [the nepo baby scrutiny] first started I found it to be, like, incredibly annoying and boring,' the Daddio star scoffed on TODAY last year. 'Like, if you're a journalist, write about something else. That's just, like, lame.' Dakota has been hard at work producing and starring as ghost author Lowen Ashleigh in Michael Showalter's big-screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover's 2018 novel Verity. Johnson recalled in her ELLE UK cover story on Wednesday: 'That f***ing process was so awful and terrifying. When you get accepted for an audition, it's a two-day long chorus-line thing' Dakota (2-R) also has Melanie (M) to thank for her big-screen debut, at age nine, in Antonio's dismally-reviewed directorial debut Crazy in Alabama in 1999 Before landing her breakout role in the Fifty Shades trilogy, Johnson first caught the industry's attention as panty-clad Harvard University student Amelia in David Fincher's 2010 drama The Social Network The psychological romance thriller - already scheduled to hit US theaters May 15, 2026 - will also star Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett. Audiences can next catch Johnson as matchmaker Lucy in Celine Song's love triangle rom-com Materialists, which hits US theaters June 13 and UK theaters August 15. The Texan-born beauty will also produce and star as Julie in Michael Angelo Covino's comedy Splitsville, which hits US theaters August 22.
