Dakota Johnson looked carefree as she enjoyed another day in Ibiza, Spain on Wednesday, alongside a mystery male companion. The 35-year-old Materialists actress shrugged off her recent Chris Martin breakup as she bared her flat abs in a white bikini top and floral patterned silk skirt. Meanwhile her male friend was dressed casually in a white T-shirt and sun hat. It is not clear if the man in question is part of her summer crew that she is vacationing with but the pair appeared friendly. Johnson, whose parents are Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, had a smile on her face as she took a walk with her friends. She was surrounded by fellow vacationers, including Kate Hudson 's six-year-old daughter Rani, during a group outing. Earlier this week Johnson was seen aboard a luxury yacht in the celeb-packed hotspot, weeks after quietly calling it quits with the Coldplay frontman, 48. The duo, who first got together in 2017, and got engaged years later, ended their relationship in June. But per an exclusive DailyMail source, Dakota's mom thinks the breakup is a 'huge mistake' and is putting in the effort to bring them back together. Martin sparked speculation with a cryptic shout-out to Dakota at Coldplay's Las Vegas show in June. 'Thank you so much everybody,' the Paradise singer said to the sold-out crowd at Allegiant Stadium, before unexpectedly referencing Johnson's latest film. 'Be kind to yourself, be kind to each other,' he encouraged before adding, 'Don't forget to see Materialists! We love you!' in a video shared online by Deuxmoi. While the person who shot the video seemed to think the promotion meant 'THEYRE NOT BROKEN UP,' others disagreed. 'I can totally seeing him supporting her even after the break up,' one social media user stated. 'You can breakup with someone and still be supportive. Look at him and GP,' said one fan, referring to the hitmaker's amicable relationship with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. Reps for the pair have not officially confirmed their split. source said the 50 Shades of Grey star 'held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much.' The insider continued: 'Dakota is devastated that she isn't going to be around his kids as much anymore, but wants them to know that she is always there for them.' They added that there is a chance the pair may reconcile but 'right now, being separated will do wonders if they were to have any type of future together.' DailyMail first reported trouble between the pair in August 2024 but a rep later confirmed they were still together. The pair had a brief rumored split in 2019 which was alleged to be over Martin pushing for them to have children, but they quickly got back together. Martin famously split from Paltrow the mother of his two children Apple, 21, and Moses, 19, in March 2014 after ten years of marriage.

Three days later, Dakota and Kate—who are the daughters of longtime friends Melanie Griffith and Goldie Hawn, respectively—went on a cruise off the coast of Ibiza, Spain. As seen in photos published by People, they spent the day enjoying the sun in their bikinis, lounging on a large white raft with a friend and swimming in the water, unafraid to get their hair wet. The girls trip comes just a few weeks after multiple outlets reported that Dakota and Chris had called it quits on their relationship of nearly eight years. While Johnson is living the good life these days, it's a far cry from her early days as an actress, when she was desperate for a role. After she didn't get into Juilliard, her father cut her off financially. 'I didn't get in and my dad cut me off because I didn't go to college. So, I started auditioning. I think I was 19 when I did The Social Network, and then little jobs and stuff after that," Johnson shared in a discussion with her Materialists co-star, Pedro Pascal, for Elle UK back in May. 'For a couple of years, it was hard to make money. There were a few times when I'd go to the market and not have money in my bank account or not be able to pay rent, and I'd have to ask my parents for help." Ultimately, Johnson realized she wasn't meant for college, and didn't have much interest in being put in a classroom. EXCLUSIVE The secret A-list insider working to reunite Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin after their shock split
It was the perfect pairing: a handsome British singer and a glamorous Hollywood star – and for eight years, Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson seemed on course for a happy ending. But three weeks ago, sources close to the former couple confirmed the pair's love story had flamed out – leaving Dakota 'devastated'. Now the Daily Mail can reveal one person still hasn't given up on the couple – the actress's mom Melanie Griffith who thinks the split is a 'huge mistake' and is working behind the scenes to bring them back together. A well-placed source told the Daily Mail: 'Melanie is desperately working behind the scenes to save Dakota's strained relationship with Chris. 'She's convinced that they are meant to be together and isn't giving up on them. She thinks her daughter is making a huge mistake and needs to meet Chris halfway. 'Melanie has always felt a kinship with Chris, he's like a son to her.' Dad-of-two Martin, 48, and acting royalty Dakota, 35, were first spotted together in 2017 and were most recently seen in May. The relationship had weathered multiple break-ups and make-ups according to sources, and the pair reportedly even became engaged in 2020. Dakota – whose dad is movie icon Don Johnson – even became close to Martin's two children, Apple and Moses, who he had with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. Last year, she told glossy magazine Bustle: 'I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.' But that wasn't enough to prevent trouble in paradise with sources telling the Daily Mail that the pair had been having 'the same issues for some time'. While the couple themselves have called time, Griffith, 67, has refused to concede defeat and is now badgering the pair to get relationship therapy, as well as woo-woo 'energy work' in a bid to get them back on track. An insider dished: 'Melanie has been seeking advice from her friends in the healing community, mostly in the Malibu area. 'She's been trying to get Dakota and Chris to work with a non-traditional couple's therapist who incorporates energy work to help detect and detach generational trauma. 'She said all they need is some laser focus guidance to set them straight once and for all.' But while Griffith – who has a checkered relationship history of her own that includes divorcing Johnson twice and a high-profile marriage to actor Antonio Banderas – is dead set on saving Dakota's relationship, she is nervous of appearing 'meddlesome'. The insider added: 'Melanie doesn't want to be the meddlesome mother, but she has years of recovery and practices a solid spiritual program. 'She said she's coming from a place of authentic love for her daughter, rather than control. 'She wants them both to be happy, if they'd just leave their egos at the door and lead with their hearts.' That may be a tall order at the moment with rocker Martin currently touring with his band Coldplay while Dakota has been promoting her ironically named comedy Splitsville. As a result, sources say the pair have been leading increasingly separate lives with Martin playing dates in Las Vegas, Denver, and El Paso in the last three weeks alone. Also on the schedule are stops in Toronto, Nashville, and Miami next month, plus a succession of August dates at London's Wembley Stadium and a two-night stop in the down-at-heel Yorkshire town of Hull. Johnson is also promoting a second movie – romantic comedy Materialists in which she stars opposite Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. The movie was released amid the split drama on June 13 and has grossed $24million in the US and Canada to date and $7million worldwide.
