After 25 long years, one of television's most iconic and beloved soap operas is returning to our screens with the same star cast that won us over originally. Yes, Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is all set to release on July 29 with fresh stories, but the same sanskaar. Well, Smriti Irani's first look as Tulsi Virani, and a tour of her sasural Shanti Niketan, have already hit fans with a wave of nostalgia. So you can only imagine how much the excitement increased amongst fans when makers dropped a behind the scenes video starring almost the entire team, including lead star Amar Upadhyay as Mihir Virani. Ektaa Kapoor's 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' is set to return with a second season, bringing back two of its iconic characters, Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay.. Several original cast members are reprising their roles nearly 17 years after the first season ended. Amar, who returns as Mihir Virani, recently shared how the show's premiere has been looks like fans of the iconic show will have to wait for some time to witness their favourite stars returning in the second season. According to a source quoted by Hindustan Times, the highly anticipated premiere, originally scheduled for July 3, 2025, has been delayed due to ongoing changes to the Upadhayay confirmed the development to the entertainment portal and explained the reason. 'Yes, it's true. The set had to be reworked. Apparently, the colour combination on the screen wasn't translating the way it should. Ektaa knows exactly what she wants, she's a perfectionist. And this is Kyunki It's not just another show. It's a legacy and she wants to do everything what's best for the show,' he said. Although the show's premiere has been pushed beyond July 3, 2025, which marks the 25th anniversary of the original 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', filming is set to begin on that very actor shared, 'The mahurat shoot will happen on the 25th anniversary of the original launch. Honestly, it feels symbolic. Starting again on the same date is like coming full circle. The nostalgia is real, but this time we're returning with fresh energy, modern storytelling, and a meticulously designed set.'Regarded as one of the most successful shows on Indian television, the show revolved around the ideal daughter-in-law Tulsi Virani (played by Smriti Irani), her relationship with her husband Mihir Virani (played by Amar Upadhyay) and their kids.
