Civil Protection Contains Massive Fire at Safir Square Heliopolis
Taarek Refaat Civil Protection forces were able to contain a fire that broke out in a residential building in the Safir Square area of Heliopolis. The Cairo Civil Protection Operations Room received a report of the fire, and fire engines immediately arrived at the scene. A security cordon was established to contain the flames. Civil Protection forces immediately reinforced the scene with fire trucks and ambulances in anticipation of any casualties and to quickly control the fire before it spread to the residential apartments in the building itself. The forces were able to control the fire within 60 minutes, containing the flames and preventing them from spreading to the rest of the building. Residents were evacuated, and electricity and gas supplies were cut off as a precaution, in case the flames exploded. Cooling efforts are currently underway to prevent the fire from recurring. Egypt to Announce Results of Gasoline Contamination Investigation Once Completed
Taarek Refaat Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said that they are reviewing the recent developments regarding gasoline, following reports of a gasoline contamination at gas stations. The Prime Minister made this statement during his regular press conference following the cabinet meeting at its headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. Madbouly confirmed that as soon as the problem is identified, it will be announced immediately. He explained that as soon as he was informed, he contacted the Minister of Petroleum and instructed him to launch an immediate investigation to determine the problem. Bloomberg: Trump May Consider Reduction in NASA's Budget
Rana Atef On Friday, Bloomberg revealed that the Trump administration may consider a reduction in NASA's budget. Bloomberg explained that Trump's proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year displays cuts across many of NASA's programs, including a plan to phase out the Moon rocket by Boeing. It also includes reductions in crew numbers and operations at the International Space Station, as well as cuts to scientific initiatives. The report noted that the funding request submitted by Trump would reduce NASA's budget by more than $6 billion compared to last year. Later, NASA posted that the Trump-Vance Administration showed toplines of the President's budget for Fiscal Year 2026. The budget will be mainly dedicated to human space exploration of the Moon and Mars. 'This proposal includes investments to simultaneously pursue exploration of the Moon and Mars while still prioritizing critical science and technology research,' said acting NASA Administrator Janet Petro. Civil Protection Contains Massive Fire in 6th of October after Gas Pipeline Broke
Taarek Refaat Giza Civil Protection forces were able to contain a massive fire that broke out Wednesday evening due to a broken gas pipe in 6th of October City. The Giza Emergency Operations Room received a report of a massive fire on Al-Wahat Road in 6th of October City due to a broken gas pipe. Firefighters were immediately notified to quickly respond to the incident. A massive explosion occurred in the main gas pipeline, causing intense flames and smoke to rise in the vicinity. Initial investigations revealed that several cars had been charred and caught fire at the scene following the sudden gas pipeline explosion. According to an initial report, the accident resulted in the death of 3 people and the injury of 13 others. 8 of the injured were transferred to Sheikh Zayed Specialized Hospital, and 5 to 6th of October Central Hospital. Gas company workers responded to the fire and dealt with it by closing the main valve to prevent the flames from spreading. The air current had helped it ignite rapidly. Immediately, Civil Protection Forces, supported by fire trucks and ambulances, arrived at the site of the explosion and began efforts to control and contain the fire. Tight security measures were in place, and a security cordon was imposed around the area to ensure the safety of pedestrians. The road was closed to traffic and diverted to alternative routes until the completion of firefighting and security operations. Relevant authorities are currently investigating the causes of the explosion, while Civil Protection continues its efforts to contain the situation and prevent the flames from spreading to any nearby facilities.
