Civil Protection Contains Massive Fire in 6th of October after Gas Pipeline Broke
Giza Civil Protection forces were able to contain a massive fire that broke out Wednesday evening due to a broken gas pipe in 6th of October City.
The Giza Emergency Operations Room received a report of a massive fire on Al-Wahat Road in 6th of October City due to a broken gas pipe.
Firefighters were immediately notified to quickly respond to the incident.
A massive explosion occurred in the main gas pipeline, causing intense flames and smoke to rise in the vicinity.
Initial investigations revealed that several cars had been charred and caught fire at the scene following the sudden gas pipeline explosion.
According to an initial report, the accident resulted in the death of 3 people and the injury of 13 others. 8 of the injured were transferred to Sheikh Zayed Specialized Hospital, and 5 to 6th of October Central Hospital.
Gas company workers responded to the fire and dealt with it by closing the main valve to prevent the flames from spreading. The air current had helped it ignite rapidly.
Immediately, Civil Protection Forces, supported by fire trucks and ambulances, arrived at the site of the explosion and began efforts to control and contain the fire. Tight security measures were in place, and a security cordon was imposed around the area to ensure the safety of pedestrians.
The road was closed to traffic and diverted to alternative routes until the completion of firefighting and security operations.
Relevant authorities are currently investigating the causes of the explosion, while Civil Protection continues its efforts to contain the situation and prevent the flames from spreading to any nearby facilities.
Sources said that contractors were digging near the pipe when it exploded, as they didn't have the maps of the gas pipeline.

According to U.S. media outlets, including the Associated Press, the shooting occurred in the parking lot of a Target store in Austin. Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis told reporters at a press conference that the suspect fled the scene after the attack, stealing a car and later crashing it. The suspect then allegedly commandeered a second vehicle before being apprehended. Chief Davis confirmed that three people were killed in the incident. Officers used a stun gun to subdue and arrest the suspect, who is now in custody. The motive behind the shooting has not yet been disclosed, and police say the investigation is ongoing. Italy to Impose €18,000 Fine for Throwing Litter from Cars
Israa Farhan Italy is set to enforce severe penalties on drivers who illegally dispose of rubbish from their vehicles. Starting next Saturday, motorists could face fines of up to €18,000 (£15,200) for discarding waste from car windows onto roads or roadside areas. The move aims to tackle littering, which has long been a problem on Italy's streets and highways. Current laws already impose fines of up to €1,188 for throwing items such as tissues, plastic bottles, and cigarette butts. However, under the new legislation, offenders who litter in protected nature reserves or conservation areas risk having their driving licences revoked and could even face prison sentences. In a significant shift from previous rules, police will no longer need to catch offenders in the act. Instead, video surveillance footage will be sufficient to issue fines and pursue legal action. The Italian government hopes the tougher measures will serve as a strong deterrent and help preserve the country's natural landscapes. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani

UK Expands Deportation Program for Foreign Offenders
Israa Farhan The British government has announced a major expansion of its deportation policy, requiring more foreign nationals to lodge appeals against convictions from outside the United Kingdom. The move aims to speed up removals and prevent delays in deportation proceedings. Under the new policy, the number of countries covered by the deport first, appeal later scheme will almost triple to 23. Offenders from these countries will be removed immediately after conviction, before being able to challenge their sentences in person. Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood confirmed that legislation will be amended so that most foreign offenders are deported as soon as sentencing is complete. Foreign nationals currently make up around 12% of the prison population, and the government says the change will save public money and reduce pressure on overcrowded prisons. The expansion comes as Prime Minister Keir Starmer's Labour government faces growing political pressure over immigration, with Nigel Farage's Reform Party gaining momentum in opinion polls by focusing on crime and border control. Since taking office a year ago, Labour has introduced several measures aimed at tightening immigration enforcement and addressing crime. According to the Home Office, the extended policy will significantly increase the UK's capacity to remove foreign offenders at the earliest opportunity. Official figures show that 5,200 convicted offenders with foreign passports were deported between July 2024 and July 2025, marking a 14% rise compared to the previous year. Under the scheme, deported individuals can continue their appeals from their home countries through video link. The policy has already been applied to nationals from Tanzania, Finland, Estonia and several other countries, and will now include 15 additional nations such as Latvia, Bulgaria, Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia, Lebanon and Malaysia. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper stated that the reforms will close loopholes used by offenders to delay deportation and reinforce the principle that those committing crimes in the UK will not be allowed to exploit the system. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani
