KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 — Police are tracking down two individuals suspected of attempting an armed robbery at a shop in Hulu Selangor in the early hours of June 18. Hulu Selangor acting police chief DSP Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said the suspects' actions were captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV), and the victim lodged a police report at 6.42am the same day. He said CCTV footage of the attempted robbery has since gone viral on social media. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, dressed in black, wearing caps and face masks, and armed with machetes, tried to attack the victim using the weapon after allegedly entering the premises through the back door. 'The victim managed to scream for help, which caused the suspects to panic and flee the scene without taking anything,' he said in a statement yesterday. Mohd Asri said efforts were underway to track down the two suspects, believed to be local men, and the case is being investigated under Section 393 of the Penal Code for attempted robbery. The suspects, who were caught on video dressed in black, wearing caps and face masks, were seen attempting to attack a local man at the back of the premises. Acting Hulu Selangor district police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said the victim lodged a police report on Wednesday at 6.42am. "Investigations revealed that the incident took place at a premises in Ulu Yam Baru. "While the victim was inside the shop, two people entered through the back door and attempted to attack the victim with parang. "It is believed that the suspects are local men," he said in a statement. During the incident, the victim screamed for help, causing the suspects to panic and flee the scene, he said. He said they did not manage to steal any of the victim's belongings. The case is being investigated under section 393 of the Penal Code. The offence carries a maximum penalty of seven years' jail and a fine. HULU SELANGOR: A 57-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a trailer that was making a U-turn along Jalan Persiaran Ros in Bukit Sentosa yesterday. Acting Hulu Selangor district police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said police were alerted to the incident at 4pm. "Preliminary investigations showed that the trailer, driven by a 59-year-old man, was heading from Klang to Bukit Sentosa to collect a load. "Upon reaching the location, the trailer, which was in the left lane, attempted to make a U-turn. "At that moment, the victim's motorcycle, which was travelling in the right lane in the same direction, was unable to avoid the trailer and collided with the right side of the trailer," he said when contacted today. Mohd Asri said the motorcyclist died at the scene. The body was sent to the Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital's forensic unit for post-mortem. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving causing death. Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation.

HULU SELANGOR: A 20-year-old youth was killed and three others, aged between 20 and 22, were injured after their motorcycles crashed along the North-South Expressway near Bukit Tagar early this morning. The incident occurred at 2.55am while the four were travelling from Hulu Bernam to Kuala Lumpur. Acting Hulu Selangor police chief, Deputy Superintendent Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus, said one motorcyclist crashed first, while the other three crashed while trying to avoid the fallen motorcycle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The injured motorcyclists were taken to Hospital Sungai Buloh for treatment. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving or riding. "Those who witnessed the incident are urged to come forward to assist in the investigation," he added.
