Adrien Brody's train journey to Tangier in Kismet, Monos' cinematic travel campaign

Adrien Brody, fresh off his Best Actor win for The Brutalist, steps into another starring role—this time as the face of Monos' new Aluminum Luggage Collection. The campaign takes him through the streets of Tangier, where he reflects on travel's power to dissolve borders. As part of this campaign, the short film Kismet follows the two-time Oscar winner on a journey through Morocco. It begins on a train and leads him to Tangier, a city long beloved by iconic figures who roamed its medina and reveled in its vibrant nights—among them Paul Bowles, Henri Matisse, and many others. «Growing up in New York—a city full of diversity and unexpected encounters—ignited a thirst for adventure. I often find myself on location in different places while working on films, which is exciting; I love to explore, to travel, to get lost and find my way», Brody shared with Rolling Stone MENA while on set during the cinematic shoot for Monos in Tangier. «Traveling reminds me that borders are irrelevant. No matter how different cultures or people may seem, we're all just people living our unique stories», he continued. Shot by filmmaker Alexis Gómez, Kismet follows Brody as he explores Tangier. The short film is a nod to The Darjeeling Limited, Wes Anderson's 2007 film about three estranged brothers on a soul-searching train journey across India, much of which takes place on a train. In the film, Brody carries Monos' all-new aluminum suitcase, available in Aspen Silver, Champagne Gold, and Caviar Black. Since its launch in 2019, Monos has earned a reputation as «the Apple of suitcases», crafting minimalist, high-end travel gear with thoughtful design.

As the leading man (and Best Actor-winner) for The Brutalist, it's no wonder that Adrien Brody knows a little thing or two about timeless design. Stepping into his next big role, Brody is the face of travel brand Monos' new short film, taking to the streets of Morocco with their new Aluminum Luggage Collection by his side — and sharing thoughts on how globe-trotting can break down our (emotional) borders. Monos Taps Academy Award-Winning Actor Adrien Brody as Face of New Campaign for First Aluminum Travel Collection

Monos, the North American-based travel and lifestyle brand, renowned for its sleek design and commitment to sustainability, has launched its first ever Aluminum Collection. Tailored for the globetrotter who demands both durability and elegance, the new aluminum hard shell luggage assortment offers a perfect balance of style, practicality, and prestige for the refined traveler. To celebrate the launch of the Aluminum Collection, Monos embarked to the vibrant city of Tangier, Morocco to capture its first celebrity campaign starring Academy award-winning actor Adrien Brody. In the campaign, Brody roams the Moroccan landscape with Monos' Aluminum Collection by his side; his voyage unfolding like kismet—the unseen thread that weaves us into life's mysterious design. Captured by Mexico City-based filmmaker and photographer Alexis Gomez, the narrative explores themes of solitude and connection, revealing how the unknown unfolds when we surrender to the journey itself. Monos travels with Brody through the city, accompanying him as he meets villagers, absorbs the city's sounds, and explores its historical sights. The journey unfolds with quiet discoveries, unexpected kindness, and subtle exchanges—each chance encounter feeling predestined. 'Growing up in New York - a city full of diversity and unexpected encounters - ignited a thirst for adventure. I often find myself on location in different places while working on films, which is exciting; I love to explore, to travel, to get lost and find my way,' shared Adrien Brody with Monos on set in Morocco. 'Traveling reminds me that borders are irrelevant, no matter how different cultures or people may seem, we're all just people living our unique stories' continued Brody. Monos believes in partnering with individuals who embody their values of authenticity and timeless style. 'Adrien perfectly reflects these qualities—his unique perspective and undeniable charm make him the ideal ambassador for our brand,' states Victor Tam, co-founder of Monos. Tam continues, 'His influence and deep connection with his audience will not only elevate the collection but also deepen the Monos experience, creating a lasting impact on our community.' The Aluminum Collection celebrates Monos' unwavering commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Each piece is crafted from premium aluminum, available in four styles including Carry-on Plus ($665), Check-In Medium ($725), Check-in Large ($755), and a Trunk ($775), all featured in three elevated colorways: Caviar Black, Champagne Gold, and Aspen Silver. Durable and resilient, each luggage piece is reinforced with riveted aluminum corner guards, TSA-accepted combination latch locks, a telescopic trolley handle, soft release side handle, ergonomic bottom grab handle, and whisper-quiet 360-degree spinning wheels. The interior features a new quilted taffeta lining in solid black, embossed with the brand's iconic dot pattern, and a compression layer to keep everything secure and in its place. The anodized aluminum shell boasts a brushed finish, further enhancing its sleek, sophisticated look. 'Our Aluminum Collection is our most premium offering to date and features thoughtful details, from the soft-release side handle to the etched detailing on the hinges and latches, because it's the small things that elevate the entire travel experience.' describes Hubert Chan, co-founder of Monos. Inherent to aluminum is its ability to develop a distinctive patina over time, adding character and making each piece uniquely yours. 'Travel leaves its mark on us, and there's something beautiful and romantic about carrying traces of your journey on your suitcase—each mark tells a part of your personal story,' adds Chan. Since its inception in 2018, Monos has achieved an impressive 300% year-over-year (YOY) growth on average from 2019 to 2024, with sales surpassing $100 million in 2023. Beginning in 2025, Monos is on track to expand its global footprint, aiming to meet its consumers with 40 retail locations worldwide by 2030. Recently awarded B Corp certification, Monos' core values reinforce the idea that thoughtful design can—and should—be aligned with positive social and environmental impact. As part of the brand's cruelty-free commitment, Monos sources the highest quality vegan alternatives wherever animal-derived materials are traditionally used, like in the construction of bags, luggage tags, and the detailing in suitcases. Every Monos piece is crafted with care and consideration for both people and the planet. The new Aluminum Collection will be available beginning March 17th, 2025, exclusively on and at Monos' Canadian retail locations in Toronto and Vancouver. The campaign, featuring Adrien Body, will run globally across the brand's various social channels, as well as international OOH and digital marketing.
