7-Eleven is giving away free Slurpees — for one day only. Here's what to know
7-Eleven is ringing in its 98th birthday with a Slurpee giveaway. On Friday, July 11, anyone can get a free 12-ounce Slurpee drink of their choice at participating 7-Eleven, Stripes and Speedway locations nationwide, according to the Texas-based convenience retailer. No purchase is required. Started in 2002, the annual event coincides with 7-Eleven's anniversary and celebrates the 'signature slushy drink' the brand is best known for, KXAS-TV reported. The one-day giveaway has included special perks and merchandise — including a new temporary tongue tattoo. Rewards members can snag the Slurpee-branded body art at select 7-Eleven locations, according to a news release. 'We love finding new ways to amp up the Slurpee drink experience and creating lasting moments for our customers, on Slurpee Day and all year round,' Marissa Jarratt, executive vice president at 7-Eleven, said in the release.
