Cyber cons fake H'bag DC's profile on FB
Hazaribag: Fraudsters cheating people through fake social media profiles of govt officials is not new in Jharkhand. But in a bold new recent case, cyber criminals created a fake account of Hazaribag deputy commissioner Nancy Sahay, a trend which is worrying, police said. After the issue came to light, Sahay urged people to remain cautious on social media and not to blindly accept requests from strangers or suspects in any way. A police officer in the cyber cell said, "This is a worrying trend where cyber criminals are misleading the public by exploiting the credibility of high-ranking officials and attempting to extort money from them. Not only was a fake Facebook account of Sahay cretaed, but there was also a case of chatting with people with the intention of extorting money using her official photo." The officer said that cyber criminals created a fake Facebook profile using the name, photo, and designation of the DC. Friend requests were then sent to people from this fake profile, making them believe they are connecting with Sahay herself. Once a person accepted the friend request, the criminals demand money through Facebook Messenger by making various excuses. This can be in the name of a personal emergency, a donation for a project, or any other type of help. According to police officials, cheating by creating a fake account in the name of a DC is a serious cybercriminal case. Taking the issue seriously, police officials said efforts were underway to trace the fraudsters using digital footprints and arrest them. Meanwhile, Sahay appealed to all residents of the district, officials, relatives, and well-wishers not to react in any way to such fake Facebook accounts and to report and block them.

Identify Pak nationals living here illegally: Hazaribag BJP
Hazaribag: BJP workers, led by district president Vivekanand Singh, on Monday demonstrated in front of district collectorate in Hazaribag city demanding action against Pakistani citizens residing in the district. A letter in this regard was also handed over to deputy commissioner Nancy Sahay for it to be forwarded to Governor Santosh Gangwar and chief minister Hemant Soren. Hazaribag takes extra caution
Hazaribag/Chatra: The NEET-UG exam was conducted at eight centres in Hazaribag amid extra security on Sunday. The examination was also conducted with tight security and peacefully at one centre in Chatra district. In Hazaribag, the question paper was delivered to various examination centres from the designated locker amid tight security. Last year, question papers of the exam were leaked while transporting them from the locker to one of the centres. This year, a foolproof plan was executed with routes to the eight centres under strict monitoring. The question paper was made available to the students with caution and the process was also videographed. Hazaribag DC Nancy Sahay and SP Arvind Kumar Singh conducted surprise inspections of different examination centres. Sahay confirmed that the examination was conducted following all rules and monitored with CCTV cameras. SP Singh said over 200 personnel have been deployed at the examination centres and all rules and SOPs have been followed right. In Chatra too, the NEET exam was conducted in a peaceful and malpractice-free environment amid tight security arrangements. The exam was held at the CM School of Excellence where 347 candidates were registered but only 338 turned up.

State ready for free and fair NEET-UG
Hazaribag/Chatra/Ranchi: A year after Hazaribag came into the limelight for being the centre of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scam, the district administration is leaving no stone unturned to ensure free and fair examination. Hazaribag deputy commissioner (DC) Nancy Sahay directed the deputed magistrates, police officers, examination centre superintendents and other officials to ensure peaceful examination. All guidelines should be followed, leaving no room for negligence. She instructed the officials to maintain order in the traffic system on the day of the examination. "A total of 3,000 students are scehduled to appear in the exam at right centres of Hazaribag. A magistrate, a police officer, and adequate police force have been deputed at each centre," she added. In Chatra, DC Ramesh Gholap urged officials to set up a mobile centre at the CM school of excellence, where the mobile phones of the staff and officials will be deposited. No official will be allowed to carry mobile phones in the examination centre building. CCTVs would be used to monitor the examination centre besides checking at the entrance and mandatory verification of identity cards. All other activities, including the process of opening and sealing the question paper, would be videographed. Crowd would be controlled by implementing Section 166 in the prescribed area of the examination centre. Medical and emergency facilities would be made available at the centre. Help desks should be established based on need and proper information boards should be installed. Apart from the District control Room, control rooms will also be established in the examination centre too. Police force would be deployed up to a distance of 100 meters outside the examination centre." In Ranchi, students were asked to follow instructions. They are prohibited from carrying any kind of chit, papers, or unauthorised material to the exam centers. District administration have urged candidates to cooperate fully with the security and investigation teams during entry checks and to adhere to all examination rules. All departments involved have been directed to work in close coordination for successful organization of the exam. Police officers and security personnel assigned to duty must report on time at their designated examination centers and follow the instructions of the center superintendent or supervisor regarding security protocols.

2 ultrasound centres sealed in Barhi block
Chatra: On the instructions of deputy commissioner (DC) Nancy Sahay, two ultrasound centres operating in Barhi block have been sealed due to violation of rules on Tuesday. The action was taken by a special investigation team formed by the district administration, in which medical and administrative officials jointly inspected the centres. During the investigation, it was found that the doctors authorised to do ultrasound were not present at both the centres, which comes under the category of serious violation under the PCPNDT Act. Deputy superintendent of Barhi referral hospital, Dr Prakash Gyani said that the absence of a doctor at the time of inspection clearly shows negligence and violation of regulatory conditions.
