26-Year-Old Rapper Latto Admitted That She Finds Being Rich 'Boring' Since Becoming A Millionaire At 21, And It's Sparked A Conversation About How Celebs Use Their Wealth
Last week, rapper Latto candidly opened up about her wealth during an appearance on Complex's 360 With Speedy. The 26-year-old, formerly known as Mulatto, found fame nearly a decade ago after winning the first season of Lifetime's The Rap Game. In 2020, her single 'B*tch From Da Souf' went super viral, and she's since collaborated with a range of A-Listers. While noting that she's proud of her financial success, Latto admitted that she finds being rich 'kinda boring' after she was asked what it feels like to be able to buy whatever she wants. 'It's kinda boring,' she said. 'I was a millionaire at 21. So it's like, you grow up fast, already being in the industry at a young age and then when you have a lot of money at a young age too.' Related: I'm Absolutely Losing It Over Miley Cyrus's Theory About "Disney Gays" And "Nickelodeon Gays" That Just Destroyed My Entire Childhood 'I think I get the most 'fun' spoiling everybody around me now. I spend more money on other people than I do myself. I be so stingy with my money for myself,' she continued. 'It's boring. Money is not…I don't think that's what everybody should be chasing. It's fun, don't get me wrong,' she said before adding that she thinks people should be chasing 'true happiness.' 'The average person don't have a lot of money. I think we chase it, like, OK I gotta get this money. Then when you get this money, it's like, Damn. Now what? And I don't even have a billion yet, you know,' Latto added. Related: Let's Talk About How Creepy The Sydney Sweeney Bikini Pics Are The rapper noted that when she earned her first million dollars, she 'went crazy' with her spending, buying herself a Bentley, chains, and more. However, she noted that 'it just got old fast.' And when it was suggested that she might have had a 'different appreciation' for money if she'd acquired her wealth later in life, Latto agreed. 'Obviously it has its pros, but I don't know if it's the best thing for a 21 year old to be seeing that much money that fast. Like, it kinda takes away life's experiences,' she shared. Latto's candid comments have since picked up steam online, and while some X users noted that they understand her sentiment, others wound up debating how celebrities use their wealth. 'girl boo…create a scholarship program? job program for homeless ppl? SOMETHING,' one person wrote in response to Latto's remarks. 'If you consistently gave back to the community then there would always be a reason to chase the money, no?' another person said. 'theres people around the same age who can't even survive on a daily basis and you're complaining about having too much fucking money,' one person said. 'I don't like anyone who complains about having money, some people are living paycheck to paycheck,' said another. 'first world problems. bring back READING THE ROOM abilities for celebrities,' someone wrote, while one more user added, 'ppl with money shouldn't be complaining about having money.' Here's Why People Are Raising Their Eyebrows Over Chris Pratt's Post About The Fatal Shooting Of His 'Parks And Recreation' Costar Jonathan Joss
Earlier this week, authorities confirmed that actor Jonathan Joss had died after being shot during an altercation with a former neighbor. He was 59. Jonathan's husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, claimed in a social media statement that the actor was killed in an anti-gay, targeted attack. He wrote, 'My husband Jonathan Joss and I were involved in a shooting while checking the mail at the site of our former home. That home was burned down after over two years of threats from people in the area who repeatedly told us they would set it on fire. We reported these threats to law enforcement multiple times and nothing was done.' 'Throughout that time we were harassed regularly by individuals who made it clear they did not accept our relationship. Much of the harassment was openly homophobic,' Tristan alleged. 'When we returned to the site to check our mail we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view. This caused both of us severe emotional distress. We began yelling and crying in response to the pain of what we saw. While we were doing this a man approached us. He started yelling violent homophobic slurs at us. He then raised a gun from his lap and fired.' While tributes have poured in for the King of the Hill voice actor, his former Parks and Recreation costar Chris Pratt shared some words of his own this week. Related: I'm Absolutely Losing It Over Miley Cyrus's Theory About "Disney Gays" And "Nickelodeon Gays" That Just Destroyed My Entire Childhood Jonathan famously played Chief Ken Hotate on the fan-favorite sitcom, while Chris starred as Andy Dwyer. In an Instagram story that has since expired, Chris shared a screenshot of a news headline about Jonathan's killing and wrote, 'Damn. RIP Jonathan. Always such a kind dude. He played Ken Hotate in Parks and was also in Mag 7. Sad to see. Prayers up. Hug your loved ones.' Related: Let's Talk About How Creepy The Sydney Sweeney Bikini Pics Are Reacting to Chris's tribute, several internet users admitted that they found his wording 'really weird' and 'poorly written.' 'This is a really weird tribute in response to his death,' one person said. 'This is such a poorly written statement. I know that Pratt likely wasn't close with Jonathan, nor is he expected to be -- but no statement is honestly better than this. It sounds so callous,' someone else agreed. 'Honestly just using full sentences would have made this sound more sincere even if they weren't close. Minimal effort. Also wth does 'prayers up' even mean,' one user wrote, while another echoed, 'He couldn't even be bothered with a full sentence, how classy.' 'It's so terse and weirdly written. Like, read it aloud. It's robotic,' someone said, while another wrote, 'This is so dismissive that it feels disrespectful. He should've said nothing tbh.' One more person added, 'It might have been better to say nothing at all Chris. This death is so tragic and upsetting and Johnathan deserved a better tribute then 'damn. RIP.'' Some users took issue with the fact that Chris made no mention of the nature of Jonathan's murder, comparing his statement to a moving statement shared by actor Cynthia Nixon. 'Was devastated to learn of the killing last night of the wonderfully talented actor and musician Jonathan Joss, who my family and I enjoyed so much in Parks and Recreation. He and his husband had been repeatedly harassed and worse by homophobic neighbors who recently burned their house to the ground. The men were collecting mail at their old address when a former neighbor came at them shouting homophobic hate and shot Jonathan to death,' Cynthia wrote. 'His husband says he would also have been shot had Jonathan not pushed him out of the way. The San Antonio police force is saying there is 'no evidence' that this was a hate crime. We will not let this stand.' Arnold Schwarzenegger Just Confronted His Son Patrick Schwarzenegger After He Said He Wished He Didn't Have His Dad's Last Name
When Patrick Schwarzenegger landed the role of Saxon in Season 3 of The White Lotus, it was inevitable that he was going to be subjected to the usual nepotism discourse. For reference, 31-year-old Patrick had already been acting for 10 years by the time he starred in the hit HBO series, but hadn't really broken into the mainstream before this point. And in an interview with the Times back in February, Patrick opened up about the frustration that he felt as a result of his last name — and how he even briefly wished that he wasn't a Schwarzenegger so that he could avoid the nepo baby backlash. If you're wondering, Patrick's dad is Hollywood actor, esteemed bodybuilder, and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and his mom is Maria Shriver, a journalist and the niece of former US President John F. Kennedy. Related: I'm Absolutely Losing It Over Miley Cyrus's Theory About "Disney Gays" And "Nickelodeon Gays" That Just Destroyed My Entire Childhood "I know there are people who'll say I only got this role because of who my dad is," Patrick said at the time. "Of course, it's frustrating and you can get boxed in, and you think at that moment: I wish I didn't have my last name. But that's a small moment. I would never trade my life with anyone.' And Arnold confronted his son over this comment when they were paired up for Variety's latest Actors On Actors series. In the video, which dropped on Tuesday, Arnie expressed his confusion over how 'Schwarzenegger' could ever be considered a hindrance, as it has always been 'a big plus' in his experience. Related: Let's Talk About How Creepy The Sydney Sweeney Bikini Pics Are He said to his son: 'One of the quotes that I read was how it was difficult to get through this because you have the name Schwarzenegger. So explain that to me, because I didn't understand it.' 'To me, the name Schwarzenegger always meant a big plus,' Arnold went on. 'And all of a sudden, you were talking about [how] it can also be kind of an obstacle, explain that.' Patrick then told his dad that he went so far as to consider changing his name for the sake of his career, and revealed that White Lotus creator Mike White was apprehensive about casting him because of his famous family ties. 'I mean, from my side, I feel it in multiple different ways,' Patrick said of the obstacles that come with Schwarzenegger. 'Mike White said it comes with baggage, is what he said. Not meaning our last name, Schwarzenegger, but I think this idea of when you have successful parents, like I do with you and with mom.' 'Anybody out there that's trying to be an actor that's kind of in those shoes, there's an added level of what other people think,' he went on. 'And Mike was worried about, if he cast me, what other people would think — which they did, they did care about that. People said I got the role just because of you or mom, and I think Mike was a little bit apprehensive at first about that.' 'There were times earlier in my career where I was wondering: 'Does it make sense to go under some sort of alias? Does it make sense to go under a different name? Do I just use Schwarzenegger? Does that add to the comparison?'' Patrick then confessed. 'Ultimately, what you've done with your last name and what you've built is incredible," he added. "It took a while for me to get to a point where I was less worried about comparison and living in your shadow versus me just wanting to carve my own path and wanting to do it the way that I thought I should.' 'Well, I'm glad that you kept the name,' Arnold replied before joking: 'Because now I can take credit: 'Yeah, my son! The apple doesn't fall from the tree!' That's the kind of lines that I'm using now.' The 77-year-old star then pointed out that nepotism in Hollywood is nothing new, saying: 'You basically joined the shortlist of people that are actors in Hollywood who had famous parents; Jamie Lee Curtis with Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. Michael Douglas, who I have worked with — and I've worked with his father, Kirk Douglas.' 'There's a whole list of people,' Arnie observed. 'I mean, Jeff Bridges, I've worked with, and there was his famous father, doing the TV series. The list goes on and on and on, and all of them benefited — and also, of course, had to show that they had talent.' 'I think that if you show that you have the substance, you can get rid of this whole idea of nepotism,' he concluded. 'And I think that everyone recognizes that now.' 'Of course, I understand that you guys have given me… You know, how hard you've worked throughout your life, and mom, to give the life that I have, and the opportunities that I've had,' Patrick replied. 'I totally understand the life that you guys have given me, but one of the biggest [pieces of] advice you always gave us kids is to work hard, and I feel like I've tried to honor that by working as hard as I can.' Kylie Jenner Is Being Hailed As The Ultimate Girl's Girl For Her Candid Response To A TikToker Who Asked For The Details On Her Boob Job
On Monday, a UK-based creator called Rachel Leary posted a TikTok begging Kylie Jenner to share the exact details of her boob job. 'It's the most perfect, natural-looking boob job ever,' she said, questioning whether Kylie may have had implants or a 'fat transfer.' 'I don't actually expect you to see this TikTok. I don't expect you to share who did the work, I understand… But in terms of what it is that you actually had done…Was it a teardrop implant? Or a high-profile implant? Under the muscle? Over the muscle? Can you just share what it is that you had?' The video was super polite and sweet. Rachel said she'd researched online to see if the answer was already available, but decided it was time to go straight to the source. 'If you could just share, that would be great,' she concluded. Kylie has been open in the past about having had a breast augmentation at 19 years old, saying on a 2023 episode of The Kardashians that she wished she'd never gotten it done. 'I would recommend anyone thinking about it to wait until after children,' the mom of two said. Despite Kylie's past openness, I personally thought the prospect of her responding to Rachel's TikTok was pretty low. However, it seems I was proven wrong, as not even 24 hours after the video went live, the real KJ has arrived with all the answers. In the comments section, Kylie listed off the exact details of her procedure, from the size of the implant she asked for to the name of the doctor who performed the surgery. Related: I'm Absolutely Losing It Over Miley Cyrus's Theory About "Disney Gays" And "Nickelodeon Gays" That Just Destroyed My Entire Childhood It's probably worth noting that everyone's bodies are very different; therefore, what works for Kylie may not necessarily work for everyone. Needless to say, the girlies of TikTok are certainly thrilled, if not a little surprised, to have the full breakdown from Kylie herself, with many calling it the ultimate girl's girl move. Related: Let's Talk About How Creepy The Sydney Sweeney Bikini Pics Are Rachel was among those celebrating the response, replying: "this is why she's for the girls 🩷 love u thank u." Ellen Pompeo Just Revealed That She Was Detained By TSA And Had A Bomb Squad Called In After She Tried To Board A Plane With Sunflower Seeds In Her Bag
Ellen Pompeo has revealed that she was detained by TSA and had a bomb squad called in after she attempted to board a plane with sunflower seeds in her carry-on luggage back in March. The Grey's Anatomy star said that she even offered to throw the offending seeds in the trash, but officials wouldn't let her leave until the bomb specialists had examined them. Related: I'm Absolutely Losing It Over Miley Cyrus's Theory About "Disney Gays" And "Nickelodeon Gays" That Just Destroyed My Entire Childhood Ellen opened up about the incident in a new interview with Travel + Leisure, where she insisted that she still loves to travel despite the recent hiccup, which saw her set off the alarms as she went through TSA. 'I had a bag of sunflower seeds, like organic sunflower seeds from Erewhon, so they were probably the most expensive sunflower seeds money can buy,' Ellen began. 'They literally held me for an hour, and they brought the bomb squad in.' Related: Let's Talk About How Creepy The Sydney Sweeney Bikini Pics Are 'I was like: 'What is happening? Is this a joke?'' she recalled. 'They said it was most likely a chemical on the packaging of these super expensive, fancy, organic, clean sunflower seeds. My protein on the plane!' 'I almost missed the flight,' Ellen added. 'It was really like no one would ever believe this! I was texting my publicist saying: 'I might not get on this plane, and you're never gonna guess why.'' Thankfully, Ellen did end up making the flight — and I'm sure she'll think twice before packing sunflower seeds in her carry-on again. If you're wondering what the star does consider to be her plane essentials, she listed them as 'mints, glasses, water, hand sanitizer, and baby wipes.' 'I have to do the Naomi Campbell thing and wipe down the entire seat,' Ellen added. Have you ever triggered TSA alarms over something totally harmless? Let me know in the comments below!
