The Brief James Warren, of Douglas County, is charged with vehicular homicide in the Easter Sunday death of 68-year-old Norman North of College Park. Warren had been out on $1,500 bond for a March DUI and failure to maintain lane arrest in Douglas County. North's funeral service is scheduled for next week. DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. - James Warren is charged with first-degree vehicular homicide in connection with the Easter Sunday afternoon death of 68-year-old Norman North. Court records show Warren had been arrested on March 22 for DUI and failure to maintain lane charges. What we know North was riding his motorcycle in Douglas County along Highway 166 between Chapel Hill Road and Big A Road, when authorities say the suspect collided with North and allegedly fled the scene. According to the arrest warrants, Warren fled the scene, resisted arrest, and spat in the face and chest of a deputy at Wellstar Douglas Medical Center. Also, according to a warrant, 42 pills, described as Alprazolam, were found on the suspect. What they're saying North's brother, Brett North, says his brother was a motorcycle enthusiast. A big brother who was described as kind and generous. "Caring, tenacious, those are words that would sum him up," said North. "The last thing I got from him was a text around 2 o'clock, and it said 'Happy Easter. I love you.'" He says their family was stunned to learn of North's death and couldn't believe the suspect had bonded out of the Douglas County jail for an earlier DUI arrest. "Until us as a society stand up and say 'we've had enough,' I don't know what the answer is," exclaimed North. "We are not going to fill our jails with DUIs." The Source FOX 5's Kevyn Stewart spoke with Norman North's brother, Brett North, for this article. Additional details were pulled from court documents and warrants.

Superstar Spotlight: Keeley Parks breaks Norman girls basketball all-time scoring record
In January, Keeley Parks became Norman High School's (Oklahoma) all-time leading scorer, surpassing 1,455 points. And she did it in style, averaging more than 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals as a senior. Parks is committed to Kansas for good reason. She currently profiles as a combo guard who can shoot but can also handle the ball when needed. In college, her rebounding prowess could allow her to develop into more of a small forward on the wing. In short, depending on what the Jayhawks need she should be able to help anywhere in the backcourt. Oklahoma Sooners predicted to land electric in-state wide receiver
The Oklahoma Sooners are trending in a positive direction for one of the best players in the state of Oklahoma, wide receiver Mason James. Oklahoma earned a Rivals Futurecast from national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman on Thursday evening. James is a talented four-star prospect in the 2026 recruiting class and is considered the No. 2 player in the state of Oklahoma by 247Sports. On Wednesday, he included Oklahoma in his top 10, along with Florida, Notre Dame, Michigan, Washington, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Kansas State, Missouri, and Arizona State. He had a huge season for Norman North with 56 receptions for 1,233 yards and 17 touchdowns. The first thing that jumps off the screen about James is his route running. The Norman North product does a fantastic job setting up defenders without having to slow down going into his break. That puts defensive backs out of position as he flies down the field. James is an electric playmaker with the speed to run past the secondary in the deep passing game or take a pass in the short passing game the distance for a touchdown. James shows fantastic lateral agility, making defenders miss in the open field. He also does a great job tracking the ball in the air and displays soft hands. James is one of the most dynamic players in the class and would make a huge impact with the Sooners. His route-running ability and speed make him an option to play on the outside or in the slot. He can be a threat in the return game. Just get Mason James the ball and watch him go to work. Projected Position Wide Receiver Height 6-feet Weight 170 pounds Hometown Norman, Okla.
