Man Utd accept defeat in race for Man City midfielder with Chelsea owners benefitting

Manchester United's interest in Tyrese Noubissie, the France U16 captain, is set to be ended by his decision to leave Manchester City for a professional deal at Strasbourg France youngster Tyrese Noubissie is set to snub interest from Manchester United to sign his first professional contract with Strasbourg having spent two seasons in Manchester City's academy. ‌ The midfielder, who captains Les Bleus' Under-16 side, has had approaches from a host of top teams across Europe - including United, Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen. ‌ But he is set to plump for Strasbourg, as first reported by L'Equipe, because the path to senior action appears clearer at the club owned by Chelsea's BlueCo. ‌ Noubissie arrived at City in the summer of 2023 after the club stumped up approximately £850,000 to sign him from Leicester. He has continued to develop since then but confirmed earlier this week that he would be leaving the Etihad. "After an incredible two years filled with hard work and dedication, It's time for me to turn a page and face a new challenge,' he said. "Wearing the Manchester City badge was an honour and I appreciate everything that the club has done for me. It has allowed me to grow not just as a footballer but also as a person. I want to give a big thank you to all of my coaches and staff that have helped me have the best experience possible. "Also a huge thank you to all my teammates for the past two years, managing to be the first age group to win the KDB cup is something I'm incredibly proud to have achieved with you. "I leave this club with nothing but respect and gratitude. Manchester City will always be part of me. Thank you." ‌ Strasbourg will play in the UEFA Conference League this season after Liam Rosenior guided a young team to seventh in Ligue 1 - although they were only three points off the Champions League places having lost their final two fixtures of the season. Despite that on pitch success, many of the club's fans have been unhappy with the ownership of BlueCo amid fears that they will effectively become a feeder club for Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Chelsea's sister club set to sign France U16 captain from under noses of Man U, Ajax, Leverkusen

Chelsea's sister club Strasbourg are closing in for a deal for France U16 captain Tyrese Noubissie, according to a report from top French football paper L'Equipe. Brilliant teenage midfielder picks Strasbourg over top teams Tyrese Noubissie playing for France's youth teams. After spending time in the Leicester academy, Man City signed the then 14 year old for €1.2m in August 2023. He's been developed there, but is now looking to move on, and despite interest from the likes of Ajax, Bayer Leverkusen and Man U, has apparently been tempted by the BlueCo project. City have offered their young star a long contract, but he's tempted by the chance to play regularly at a younger age. That's why Strasbourg provide a tempting destination, even more than the bigger clubs also pushing for him. Liam Rosenior and before him Patrick Vieira have really established a convincing pathway for young players, and Noubissie is certainly a prime one of those. He just captained the French U16s at the Montaigu tournament, and is seen as a potential future star. Strasbourg will happily accept that the youngster is destined for bigger things – they can get some great use out of him in the meantime, and make a profit when he goes. Chelsea will clearly want to be first option if Noubissie keeps developing. Chelsea and Strasbourg look to keep profitable talent pipeline going Chelsea of course have a strong connection with the City academy given the number of former players, coaches and recruitment suits we've got onboard. The fee is not mentioned in the piece, but given his age we wouldn't expect it to be anything too crazy. There should be the chance for our French sister club to make a serious wedge of profit in the future if the all round midfielder turns out to be half as good as some are predicting.
