Gold worth 50cr used in Ram temple: Nripendra Mishra
Ayodhya: A total of 45 kilograms of pure gold has been used in the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, according to Nripendra Mishra, the chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee. He said the estimated value of the gold, excluding taxes, is around Rs 50 crore. Gold has been used extensively in the doors on the ground floor of the temple and the throne of Lord Ram. He added that gold work is still ongoing in the Sheshavatar Temple. While the main structure of the Ram Temple has been completed, other parts of the temple complex, including the museum, auditorium, and guest house, are still under construction. These are expected to be completed by December 2025. Following the consecration of Ram Darbar, Mishra said arrangements are being made for controlled public access to the sacred space. For now, only a limited number of devotees will be allowed to visit the Ram Darbar, and entry will be regulated through passes, which will be issued free of cost. The consecration ceremony has drawn large crowds to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. In a statement, temple trust general secretary Champat Rai, on Friday advised the temple visitors to exercise patience for visits to the Ram Darbar. A Ram Temple Trust official clarified that the newly consecrated Ram Darbar is not yet open to the general public. I used to visit Ayodhya before the grand temple was built, and back then the path to see Lord Ram was shorter and more comfortable. Now, the stones are so hot during the day they can cause blisters.' His companion, Sudhakar Tiwari, added, 'Although the temple trust has placed red mats over parts of the path, many of them have torn and become dangerously hot. Gold plating of Ram temple spires begins in Ayodhya
Gold plating the spires of the Ram temple in Ayodhya has begun and is expected to be completed in two to three weeks, chairman of the temple construction committee Nripendra Mishra said on Tuesday. "We are ensuring that this work is carried out entirely according to the set procedures and safety standards. Experts assigned to this task have arrived in Ayodhya, and the plating process has begun," he said in the statement. Mishra said a detailed review of the ongoing construction works is underway. Construction of the first phase of the Ram temple in Ayodhya was completed last year. An idol of Ram Lalla (child Ram) was consecrated in a ceremony led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, 2024. Construction work at other parts of the temple is still going on. A consecration ceremony will be held at the new Ram Darbar on June 5. Mishra said the idols of Ram, Laxman, and Sita have already arrived and will be installed on the first floor of the temple. Religious functions linked to it will begin from June 3 onwards. The new portions of the temple are expected to be opened to the public within a week of the June 5 ceremony. Live Events Mishra added the remaining construction work within the temple complex is likely to be completed by September or October. The Sapta Mandir within the complex has already been completed, and statues of sages will be installed there, he said. "We have primarily reviewed the progress of the temple's gates, the assembly hall, and the guest house. The first gate of the temple will now be completed by June 30. Initially scheduled for completion in May, the gate had to be rebuilt due to some technical issues," Mishra said. Gate number 11 will be completed by August, and work on Gate number 3 will commence thereafter, he said. "This phase of the Ram temple's construction is becoming a symbol of faith and a historic step towards national pride and cultural renaissance," Mishra said.

"The idols of Lord Ram, his brother Lakshman, Sitaji and Hanumanji have left from Jaipur and will be taken to the temple's first floor today. Devotional programs will begin on June 3 and end on June 5... The construction of the main temple will be completed by then," said Nripendra Mishra. He added that Spiritual leaders of different beliefs will be invited to consecration ceremony at Ram temple in Ayodhya on June 5. However, he added that no VIPs from central, state governments will be invited to June 5 consecration ceremony.
