Forget Likes, Finance Cares about Results, Says GroundTruth In First Brand Campaign
Punchy campaign comes from the marketer who made Wendy's famous for social clapbacks NEW YORK, June 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- In a world where marketers are too often cornered into presenting meaningless vanity metrics to skeptical finance teams, GroundTruth is shifting the narrative. With the help of Austin-based creative agency Bandolier Media, GroundTruth has launched "Real Business Results," a sharp, no-nonsense campaign that ditches likes, shares, and impressions in favor of what actually matters like foot traffic, sales lift, and market share. GroundTruth's platform is built around real-world consumer behavior, using location and purchase data to deliver media campaigns that connect digital ads to real business outcomes. But even with those capabilities, the company saw a disconnect between what marketers often measure and what drives boardroom decisions. That's where Bandolier Media came in. Comedy With a Finance POV To bring this concept to life, Bandolier cast actor Oscar Nuñez, best known for his role as the sardonic accountant on The Office, as the face of reason in a series of humorous spots. The campaign's five creative executions—"Likes," "Equation," "Impressions," "Budget," and "Like-Liker"—feature Nuñez in mock Zoom calls or meetings where he hilariously dismantles the flawed logic of marketing teams still clinging to vanity metrics. "Oscar delivers the message marketers need to hear: CFOs don't care about likes," said Brandon Rhoten, CMO at GroundTruth. "In billions of dollars of media spend, I've never had a finance team ask about engagement. They want results tied to revenue, not retweets." Rhoten rose to prominence as the architect of Wendy's trailblazing digital and social strategy, where he transformed the fast-food chain into a cultural icon known for its razor-sharp social clapbacks and fearless online voice. But even for a marketer fluent in social, Rhoten's message now is crystal clear: likes don't pay the bills, results do. Creative Built for Conversion, Not Clapbacks The campaign runs across LinkedIn, YouTube, digital out-of-home, streaming audio, and programmatic mobile, targeting agency and brand-side media buyers who are increasingly under pressure to tie spend to impact. It's B2B marketing that dials up the relatability while driving home a serious point: if your media doesn't move the needle, it's just noise. "Too much of B2B creative still assumes humor or emotion is off-limits. Not here," said George Ellis, Creative Director at Bandolier. "We built this campaign to feel like something marketers would actually want to watch, and, most importantly, act on." A Brand Platform That Lives Its Promise GroundTruth isn't just selling smarter media with built-in measurement, they're living it. With observed real-world behavior as their core differentiator, this campaign is a meta-demonstration of their value proposition. Every spot is a rejection of marketing vanity metrics, and a push toward media accountability. The launch marks another milestone for Bandolier, named one of Ad Age's Small Agencies of the Year for three consecutive years. Their work spans major national brands and homegrown DTC efforts alike, always with a sharp creative edge and a refusal to settle for bland. About GroundTruthGroundTruth is an advertising platform that drives in-store visits and other real business results. Using observed real-world consumer behavior, including location and purchase data, GroundTruth creates targeted advertising campaigns across all screens for advertisers. GroundTruth then measures how consumers respond to the campaigns, including if they physically show up to a store location or website, to understand the real business results generated by a brand's advertising. Learn more at About Bandolier MediaAn established Austin-based creative agency, Bandolier has been recognized three years in a row by Ad Age as a Small Agency Of The Year. Current and previous clients include national names like TikTok (also a B2B client), Scotts Lawn Care, Tito's Vodka, Duck Tape and Honeywell, plus local clients in the CPG space. The agency is also known for creating their own social media properties such as The Unemployed Wine Guy (600k followers), and the team also created and run Roasty Buds Coffee, a growing brand with $1M in revenue over the past two years. Who Is In 'The Office' Spinoff Cast? All About 'The Paper', Including How It's Connected to Dunder Mifflin
The Paper is hot off the presses! In May 2024, NBC announced a spinoff of The Office, but don't settle in for Scranton, Pa., just yet. The new show, The Paper, takes place in the world of The Office, moving the action to a newspaper in Toledo, Ohio. The Paper is from Greg Daniels — who adapted the original U.K. version of The Office — and Michael Koman, co-creator of Comedy Central's Nathan For You. "It's about this struggling Midwestern newspaper that's much reduced from its glory days," Daniels previously told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's a fruitful premise." He continued, "There's a tremendous history for local papers. The villain here is the internet and the ability to look at everybody's news for free, and all the ad revenue going to Google." So how is The Paper connected to the classic NBC sitcom? Here's everything to know about the highly anticipated spinoff, including the release date, which Office star is returning to reprise their role and where to watch. The same camera crew that documented the employee antics at Dunder Mifflin is now focused on the team at The Truth Teller, a dying local newspaper in Toledo, attempting a revival with the help of volunteer reporters. The Office fans will instantly recognize a familiar face who made their way to Ohio: Oscar Nuñez, who played the beloved Oscar Martinez on the original NBC series. According to Variety, Oscar won't be a central character on the series, but he has been part of the script since the beginning. 'I told Mr. Greg Daniels that if Oscar came back, he would probably be living in a more bustling, cosmopolitan city,' Nuñez said at NBCUniversal's Upfront in May 2025, per Entertainment Weekly. 'Greg heard me and he moved Oscar to Toledo, Ohio — which has three times the population of Scranton. So, it was nice to be heard," he added. Nuñez is the only Office alum confirmed so far, but don't be surprised to see other returning actors. Former Office stars Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey — who host the Office Ladies podcast — revealed they stopped by the set of The Paper for a visit. "[Co-creator] Greg [Daniels] had invited us," Kinsey said during an appearance on the Today show in April 2025. "We showed up, and not only was Oscar there, but our crew, so many of these wonderful people — cause the crew was our extended family, and we're still really close with them." "And that was really moving to see," she added. In addition to Nuñez, The Paper will star Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore. Other members of The Paper newsroom include Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman and Tim Key. During a June 2024 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Steve Carell revealed that before Gleeson accepted the role, he reached out to him for advice. "He's an excellent actor. And he actually called me and asked, 'Should I do this? ... Did you enjoy it?' I said, 'Of course,' " Carell recalled. That same May, the Four Seasons actor told The Hollywood Reporter that he was "excited" about the spinoff and no plans to return as Michael Scott. 'I will be watching but I will not be showing up. It's just a new thing and there's really no reason for my character to show up in something like that,' Carell said. The Paper will be released in September 2025, over a decade after The Office ended its nine-season run in May 2013. 'It's been more than ten years since the final episode of The Office aired on NBC, and the acclaimed comedy series continues to gain popularity and build new generations of fans on Peacock,' Lisa Katz, the President of NBCUniversal Entertainment, said in a statement when the spinoff was announced. "This new series set in the universe of Dunder Mifflin introduces a new cast of characters in a fresh setting ripe for comedic storytelling: a daily newspaper," she continued. A trailer for The Paper has not been shared, but NBC gave a first-look from the series. The picture features Gleeson, standing on a desk in the newsroom, as he tries to galvanize his team of reporters. Meanwhile, Nuñez, who is an accountant at The Truth Teller, sits at his desk in the background. Another shot from the spinoff was also posted on social media, featuring the outside of a building, presumably The Paper offices. The Paper will be available to stream on Peacock, joining both the U.K. and the U.S. versions of The Office, which are already on the platform. Read the original article on People
