The president of Save Carbon County believes that will put cancer-causing chemicals into the air.
Save Carbon County also says the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) does not require monitoring for chemicals.
'If they continue and if they continue at the same rate of regulation, our cancer rated are going to go up, our water pollution is going to go up, and our quality of life is going to go down,' Save Carbon County President Linda Christman stated.
The DEP says the plant is complying with all existing regulations already in place.
