Wayne's Bree Hall to join Caitlin Clark, drafted No. 20 overall in 2nd round to Indiana Fever

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) – Wayne alum and South Carolina guard Bree Hall isn't traveling far to start her pro career, heading to Indiana to join Caitlin Clark after being selected No. 20 to the Fever in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft on Monday night. Hall, a two-time national champion, helped lead the Gamecocks to four straight Final Four appearances. As the No. 1 seed in this year's women's NCAA Tournament, Hall and South Carolina saw their shot at a three-peat spoiled by No. 2 seed UConn in the national title game. Hall, a 2021 Wayne graduate, is a former Penn Station Athlete of the Year winner, McDonald's All-American, Naismith All-America Honorable Mention selection and the 2021 Ohio Basketball Coaches Association Ms. Basketball winner. The 6-foot guard was apart of four consecutive SEC regular season titles and three straight SEC Tournament championships with South Carolina. Hall started in all 37 games played during the Gamecocks' perfect 38-0, undefeated National Championship season in 2024. She finished her college career at South Carolina averaging 5.8 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per contest and a total of 105 assists and 61 steals in four season. Hall was ranked as the No. 5 guard and No. 14 overall player in the class of 2021. She finished as Wayne's all-time leading scorer and led the program to its first state quarterfinal appearance in 2021. She was also the GWOC's Player of the Year in 2021.
