CM Punk Punches His Ticket to SummerSlam to Challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship

Images via WWE Before the main event of the July 14th Raw could start, Gunther made his way to the ring and proudly boasted about putting an end to Goldberg's legendary career. With a sharp grin, he declared that the Hall of Famer is now finished for good. The World Champion went on to say that the top stars of Raw would now battle each other, purely for his amusement, to earn a shot at his championship. Paul Heyman interrupted and walked down the ramp with Bron Breakker at his side. Grabbing a mic, Heyman warned Gunther about Breakker's inhuman strength. He then confidently announced that Breakker would run through every obstacle in his path and claim the title at SummerSlam. With tensions running high, the gauntlet match kicked off immediately, with Breakker squaring off against his first opponent, Penta. Interestingly, Gunther is seated in the nosebleeds to watch the action. Bron Breakker vs. Penta vs. LA Knight vs. Jey Uso vs. CM Punk Breakker started strong with a t-bone suplex, followed by shoulder thrusts in the corner and a huge lariat. As Penta rolled to the outside, he came flying back with a tope con giro. Bron stayed aggressive. However, Penta managed to hang him up on the top rope and hit a handstand double stomp, followed by a lungblower, but Breakker powered out. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Redefine Your Future with a Top Online MBA JAIN Online Learn More Undo He then caught Penta mid-springboard and ended it with a thunderous spear for the pin. He then eliminated the Mexican with a pinfall. Next up is LA Knight. He took the fight to Breakker early with a neckbreaker and some brutal arm work around the ring post. Knight even sent Bron to the floor with a wrecking ball dropkick. However, Breakker turned things around by slamming Knight face-first into the announce desk. After some back-and-forth, Knight went for the BFT, but Bron raked the eyes and hit a fireman's carry gutbuster before finishing him off with a spear for the elimination. Jey Uso entered next and exploded with offense, suicide dives, superkicks, and an Ode to Rikishi. After surviving an Avalanche Frankensteiner, Jey nearly had it won with a spear of his own. But just as he climbed up top, Bronson Reed interfered, injuring Jey's arm. That gave Bron the opening he needed to hit another spear and eliminate Uso. CM Punk was the final entrant, and he came in fired up, hitting knee strikes, a bulldog, and clearing the ring. Breakker answered back with power moves and mocked Punk before hitting a suplex and an Avalanche Frankensteiner. Punk rallied with a swinging neckbreaker and nearly won it with the Anaconda Vise, but Reed interfered again. Just as things looked bleak, Uso returned to even the odds, taking out Reed. That distraction gave Punk the opening to catch Breakker with a fireman's carry and deliver the Go to Sleep for the win. CM Punk wins the gauntlet, last eliminating Breakker by pinfall, and becomes the #1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship. 'The Best in the World' will now face Gunther at SummerSlam for gold. And to the fans' delight, Roman Reigns also made his grand return to the WWE and saved a battered Punk and Uso from Seth Rollins' henchmen. This will probably set up a tag team match at SummerSlam with Breakker and Reed facing Uso and 'The OTC'. For the unversed, this was Reigns' first TV appearance after being taken out by Breakker on the Raw after WrestleMania 41. Former US Champion strikes Seth Rollins on RAW

Via WWE: Seth Rollins and LA Knight On July 7, 2025, episode of Raw, Seth Rollins faced Penta in a heated main event. Displaying his cunning, Rollins secured the victory with a decisive stomp after a low-blow headbutt to Penta. Following the match, Paul Heyman summoned Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker to join Rollins in a show of dominance. But the tables turned dramatically when the former United States Champion emerged, catching Rollins off guard with his signature Blunt Force Trauma (BFT) finisher. LA Knight shocked Seth Rollins to end RAW LA Knight entered through the crowd and BFT'ed Rollins. However, he swiftly escaped from the wrath of Reed and Breakker's chase. He left Rollins humiliated in the ring, pissed off over the shocking finisher from Knight. This moment underscored Knight's growing rivalry with Rollins, adding another layer of intrigue to Rollins' tumultuous journey. Earlier in the night, Zayn was destroyed by Breakker while Uso was by Reed. The same was set to happen with Penta, but Knight came to the aid. The sudden attack was a build towards their match at Saturday Night's Main Event. With his faction's momentum now finally being stable, Rollins still has persistent adversaries like Penta, Zayn, Uso, and CM Punk as the bold challengers. While now Knight also emerged since they cost him multiple times. LA Knight BFTs Seth Rollins after The Visionary steals a win from Penta: Raw, July 7, 2025 Rollins has been making waves on Monday Night Raw ever since WrestleMania 41. After aligning with Heyman to betray Roman Reigns and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41, he has built a formidable alliance on Raw. With powerhouse allies Reed and Breakker by his side, Rollins secured the coveted Money In The Bank briefcase, positioning himself just one cash-in away from reclaiming a WWE world championship title. However, his path to glory is proving far from straightforward. The buildup feels like the likes of babyfaces on RAW will come together to take down Rollins' faction. Starting with the mainstays of Uso, Penta, and Punk, leading even to the returning Roman Reigns. However, The Visionary would have shifted his focus on cashing in his MITB sucessfully. As Rollins continues to navigate this turbulent landscape, his alliance with Heyman, Reed, and Breakker will be tested. The question remains: can Rollins outmaneuver his enemies and capitalize on his briefcase, or will stars like LA Knight continue to steal the spotlight? Seth Rollins could be seen in the background giving Bron an awkward look. This lines up with recent reports that WWE is already laying the groundwork for a Breakker-Rollins split. Bronson Reed cut a promo of his own, but was met with 'what' chants. Reed, who faces Jey Uso later on, reminded fans that he stuck Rollins with six Tsunamis and gained Seth's respect. Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman each cut promos as well. Chants of 'OTC' and 'CM Punk' went unanswered by the babyfaces. Heyman cut a promo in Spanish on Penta, whom he vowed would take a beating from Rollins. Kairi Sane Def. Roxanne Perez Backstage, the Judgment Day held a vigil for Liv Morgan, but Raquel Rodriguez reminded them—particularly Roxanne—that Liv wasn't dead and she's be back soon. Zayn fought back valiantly, but was cut off in midair with a wicked Spear from Breakker. Rhode Island barked in approval as Michael Cole begged fro the match to start. Breakker followed up with a 360 Spear as Cole begged Adam Pearce to 'Stop the damn match.' Rhode Island disagreed as they chanted 'One more time!' She was interrupted by Bayley, but before Bayley could make it down the ramp, Bayley was interrupted by Lyra Valkyria. Lyra cut her best promo to date. She was confident, if not heelish. Dragon Lee Fans cheered El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) during his entrance. Micheal Cole spent the entire match doubting this was the real El Grande Americano, while Corey Graves played dumb. Cole pointed out hos small El Grande's mask looked on him, and Graves said it he was wearing it snug so it didn't slip off. Michael Cole pointed out the fact that El Grande Americano had no tattoos, but Corey Graves said he had a tattoo removed this morning.
