Fox is now coming for your streaming budget, too, and it's betting you'll pay up
Streaming is already how most people get their daily dose of content, and Fox clearly wants a slice of that pie. Americans now spend an average of 8 hours a day streaming digital media, and Fox is jumping into the mix with a brand-new service called Fox One, officially launching on August 21 – right before the 2025 NFL season kicks off on September 4. Fox One will cost $19.99/month or $199.99/year, and it'll offer both live and on-demand access to the full lineup of Fox channels – including Fox News, Fox Sports, Fox Business, Fox Weather and more. If you want to bundle it with Fox Nation (Fox's original programming and opinion-heavy streaming platform), that'll run you $24.99/month. Fox says traditional pay TV subscribers will get Fox One for free, as confirmed by CEO Lachlan Murdoch during this week's earnings call. – Pete Distad, CEO of Direct to Consumer at Fox Corporation, August 5, 2025 The new Fox One streaming service will offer both live and on-demand access. | Image by Fox Fox One is stepping into a busy market already crowded with cable-style apps made for cord-cutters. However, sports fans in particular might care about this one since Fox One will give you access to NFL and MLB games that air on Fox channels, without needing a cable login. Fox was previously involved in the now-defunct Venu Sports project, a sports streaming service that never got off the ground. This new standalone approach gives Fox more direct control, and puts it in competition with the likes of ESPN's upcoming standalone app (coming this fall for $29.99/month), plus live sports offerings from DirecTV and Comcast. And while I think Fox is late to the streaming party, it's clearly not showing up empty-handed. NFL games alone will make this worth considering for a lot of folks. The price isn't exactly cheap – but compared to ESPN's standalone price, it could feel like a bargain if you care about both sports and news. That said, bundling everything into yet another subscription might be a tough sell when so many people are already overwhelmed by the number of streaming bills piling up.

Fox One streaming service finally has a release date and a price — here's everything you need to know
Fox is officially jumping into the streaming wars. The company announced today (Aug. 5) that Fox One, its new direct-to-consumer streaming service, will debut August 21. The platform promises to deliver live and on-demand access to Fox's entire lineup across news sports, and entertainment — for $19.99 a month or $199.99 per year. A teaser site is already live, though it currently just hints that the service is 'coming soon.' 'We're eager to launch Fox One in just a few weeks and super-serve our viewers with the best in live news, sports and entertainment content all in one place,' said Pete Distad, CEO of Direct to Consumer at Fox Corporation. Here are the various channels you'll have access to: Fox Nation and B1G+ will also be available on the platform, but will cost extra. Fox Nation can be bundled with Fox One for $24.99 per month. The company also said that the service will use "advanced, AI-powered personalization technologies that seamlessly integrate live and video on-demand content in a cohesive experience." Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. At first glance, the sports offerings seem the most appealing especially since the launch of Fox One feels like fallout from the demise of Venu Sports, which was supposed to combine sports offerings from Disney, Fox and Warner Bros.. That service was scuttled in January. Fox, like ESPN, offers a number of different sports, including NFL Games, the Big Ten NCAA conference, the MLB and LIV golf events. However, most of Fox's sports offerings are available via platforms like YouTube TV, the best live TV streaming service, or packaged together in services like NFL Sunday Ticket or Fox shows and movies are already available to stream via Hulu and Disney Plus, which also have entertainment from other brands. Unless Fox starts pulling its content from other services, there are better ways to see its content. Additionally, Fox Nation being an additional cost might turn away customers who specifically want the U.S.-focused service offered by Fox News. A very specific person would want Fox News and Fox Business on one platform that isn't connected to their cable bill or other streamers that already offer the channel. Fox One launches on August 21 for $19.99 a month. There does not appear to be any deals to entice people to sign up. Fox One Streaming Service to Launch in Time for NFL Season
Fox is beefing up its streaming business with Fox One, the company's new subscription streaming platform. The service will launch on Aug. 21 with a price tag of $20 a month or $200 annually. Fox's complete TV portfolio will be available on Fox One, and sports fans will be able to stream MLB and NFL games that air on the network. Whether you're interested in streaming live or on-demand, which, according to the press release, will be seamlessly integrated in a "cohesive experience," all of Fox's programming portfolio will be available at your fingertips. Fox News Channel, Fox Nation, Fox Sports, B1G, FS1, FS2, local Fox stations and the Fox Network are part of the programming along with other brand channels and content. "In bringing together the full power of the FOX content portfolio in one service, we have created a great value proposition and user experience that will appeal to the cord-cutter and cord-never fans currently not served by conventional pay TV packages," Pete Distad, CEO, Direct to Consumer, Fox Corporation, said in a statement. Subscribers can bundle Fox One and Fox Nation for $25 a month. If you decide to purchase the annual plan at the time of launch, you'll lock in a price equivalent of $20 per month. The news comes ahead of Disney's launch of its new standalone ESPN streaming service that's slated for this fall. Fox was originally set to partner with the House of Mouse and Warner Bros. Discovery on Venu Sports, but the venture was shuttered in January with each company pursuing their own streaming projects.
