Fox One streaming service finally has a release date and a price — here's everything you need to know

Tom's Guide05-08-2025
Fox is officially jumping into the streaming wars.
The company announced today (Aug. 5) that Fox One, its new direct-to-consumer streaming service, will debut August 21. The platform promises to deliver live and on-demand access to Fox's entire lineup across news sports, and entertainment — for $19.99 a month or $199.99 per year.
A teaser site is already live, though it currently just hints that the service is 'coming soon.'
'We're eager to launch Fox One in just a few weeks and super-serve our viewers with the best in live news, sports and entertainment content all in one place,' said Pete Distad, CEO of Direct to Consumer at Fox Corporation.
Here are the various channels you'll have access to:
Fox Nation and B1G+ will also be available on the platform, but will cost extra. Fox Nation can be bundled with Fox One for $24.99 per month.
The company also said that the service will use "advanced, AI-powered personalization technologies that seamlessly integrate live and video on-demand content in a cohesive experience."

At first glance, the sports offerings seem the most appealing especially since the launch of Fox One feels like fallout from the demise of Venu Sports, which was supposed to combine sports offerings from Disney, Fox and Warner Bros.. That service was scuttled in January.
Fox, like ESPN, offers a number of different sports, including NFL Games, the Big Ten NCAA conference, the MLB and LIV golf events.
However, most of Fox's sports offerings are available via platforms like YouTube TV, the best live TV streaming service, or packaged together in services like NFL Sunday Ticket or MLB.TV.
Fox shows and movies are already available to stream via Hulu and Disney Plus, which also have entertainment from other brands. Unless Fox starts pulling its content from other services, there are better ways to see its content.
Additionally, Fox Nation being an additional cost might turn away customers who specifically want the U.S.-focused service offered by Fox News. A very specific person would want Fox News and Fox Business on one platform that isn't connected to their cable bill or other streamers that already offer the channel.
Fox One launches on August 21 for $19.99 a month. There does not appear to be any deals to entice people to sign up.

Tom Brady: Bill Belichick will prepare North Carolina players to play at 'next level'

North Carolina football made quite the splash with the hiring of Bill Belichick in December 2024, giving the six-time Super Bowl winner his first college football head coaching opportunity, past the age of 70. Now, with a little less than three weeks before the start of the Tar Heels' season, it remains to be seen what to expect from the Belichick-led Tar Heels this year. One person, however, at least has an idea of what UNC football players can expect from the first-year college football coach. Tom Brady, Belichick's quarterback from 2000-19 with the New England Patriots, believes the Tar Heels can expect to be run like an NFL-style program. "What they are going to get is obviously the most prepared, the most hardworking coach that I'd ever been around," said Brady, appearing on Fox college football analyst Joel Klatt's podcast on Monday, Aug. 11. "If you go to that school, you will be prepared to play at the next level. He's going to teach you the right fundamentals and the right techniques. He's going to have a high expectation for you and you are going to grow." It's well documented how Brady, now an NFL broadcaster for Fox and limited partner of the Las Vegas Raiders, developed from a sixth-round pick into one of the greatest NFL players ever under Belichick during their 20 seasons together in New England. The seven-time Super Bowl champion (he won one more with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020) also shared some of his thoughts on what challenges his former coach could experience in the college ranks. "I think the challenge for him is he's dealing with a lot of underdeveloped players because he's dealt with guys that are four, five, six years further along than what he's normally had to deal with," Brady said. "So I think there's probably a learning curve for him. ..." Brady also mentioned the amount of time Belichick will have with his players between games to go through film and work on their skills, considering they have to balance their workload as student-athletes. "What makes Coach Belichick so unbelievable, tactically, (is how) he can break down an opponent. He watches so much film. He's so smart in how he approaches defensive schemes and offensive schemes," Brady said. "How much can these young kids retain (that)? "That may be an interesting challenge, as well, because in some ways they're not professionals. They don't have as much time as we had as professional athletes to go in there and study film and practice and meet. They don't have that amount of time at the college level." Here's a look at Brady's appearance on Klatt's podcast: The ACC preseason poll picked UNC to finish eighth among the 17 ACC teams under Belichick this season. Moreover, the Tar Heels were neither ranked nor received votes in either of the US LBM Coaches Poll or AP Top 25's preseason rankings. UNC is set to open the Belichick era on Monday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. ET against TCU at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The USA TODAY app gets you to the heart of the news — fast. ESPN and Fox's new streaming bundle could replace your cable — for half the price

Remember Venu Sports? The potential cable-killing sports streaming service that was supposed to combine all the sports offerings from Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery? It died earlier this year, but now, it looks like two of those companies are teaming up for a streaming services bundle that might actually replace your cable or live TV streaming services. ESPN (owned by Disney) and Fox announced yesterday (August 11) that they would be bundling their two new streaming services together at one low price. For $39.99, you'd get the ESPN streaming service, set to launch on Aug. 21, and Fox One streaming service, set to launch on — you guessed it — Aug. 21. Separately, these streaming services cost $29.99 and $19.99 a month, respectively, so you'd be saving $10 a month versus subscribing to each a la carte. But more importantly, you'd only be paying $40 for a lot of channels. Here's everything you get for ESPN unlimited, the premium tier of ESPN's new streaming service: On top of all those networks, ESPN will also be adding WWE Premium Live Events to the platform next year and just agreed to acquire NFL Network, which is tipped to be added to ESPN at no cost once that deal is finalized. Fox One, meanwhile, offers just one tier, though it does offer separate bundles and add-ons from this newly announced ESPN bundle. Here's what you get from Fox One: I've long though a live streaming service bundle at the right price could dethrone Netflix and cable and it looks like this bundle could come as close as anyone ever has. If you're a sports fan, there's a real chance that this package would give you everything you need, and even for the average view, there's a ton of news, sports and entertainment in these combined services. That said, it's not quite perfect. We don't know how NFL RedZone fits into all of this, and based on the ESPN's deal with the NFL, RedZone is likely only to be offered as a premium add-on to ESPN, rather than included in the streaming service. It's also missing a Disney streaming service that would have taken this bundle to another level, appealing to a much broader audience. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Sports fans — snag this streaming bundle to add both Disney Plus and Hulu to all the live sports ESPN Plus has to offer. For some reason, Disney Plus and Hulu (which will cease to be a standalone app and become a tile in the Disney Plus app starting next year) are missing from this bundle. It's beyond frustrating, because you can add Disney Plus and Hulu for $5 to ESPN, but you can't add it to this bundle with Fox One. This feels like a head-scratching misstep by Disney, but if they're leaving Disney Plus out of this bundle, they must have landed on some internal reason that this is best to reach the broadest subscriber base. Either that, or there's some legal reason they can't through in Disney Plus and Hulu. But given that you can currently bundle both services with Max, that seems unlikely to be the cause. Maybe Disney will see the error of their ways and for $45 offer a bundle that includes ESPN, Disney Plus, Hulu and Fox One, which would rival any live TV streaming service in terms of value and have a lot of people replacing their cable package. But until then, this bundle is impressive, but not quite perfect. Follow Tom's Guide on Google News to get our up-to-date news, how-tos, and reviews in your feeds.
