PS5 DualSense Edge gets biggest discounts of the year so far — here's how to save $30 now

The DualSense Edge has been one of the best PS5 controllers since its release in early 2023. But there's always been one sticking point that prevents me from recommending to every PlayStation owner: The eyewatering $199 price tag. But this $30 off deal changes that. Right now, you can pick up a DualSense Edge controller for $169 at PlayStation Direct. That's a 15% saving, and the biggest discount on the ultra premium PS5 controller I've spotted so far this year. It also matches its lowest price ever, last seen during Days of Play 2025. This deal is locked behind a coupon code, so you'll need to enter 'EVO2025' at checkout to save $30. This code will be valid through August 4 and marks this weekend's EVO 2025 esports tournament. Take your PS5 gaming up a level with the DualSense Edge. The first official "pro" controller created by Sony, it's the most premium version of the DualSense, allowing you to fully customise your play experience. You tweak stick sensitivity and dead zones, and even remap each button individually. Plus, it includes adjustable back buttons. To get this deal, remember to enter coupon code "EVO2025" at checkout. The DualSense Edge is an upgraded version of the PS5's stock controller, and Sony's long-awaited answer to Microsoft's Xbox Elite controller. Its headline features are customizable back buttons, swappable stick modules and greater user options allowing you to tweak settings like stick sensitivity, dead zones, and vibration intensity. The controller also allows you to set custom profiles, so you can easily swap between settings depending on what games you're playing currently. The removable stick modules are also helpful should you encounter the dreaded stick drift. You won't need to purchase a completely new pad. Instead, you can just swap out the sticks. In our DualSense Edge review, we said, 'The DualSense Edge is a fantastic, highly customizable controller that should be easier to recommend than it actually is. If it was $50 cheaper and battery life was a little better, the DualSense Edge would be the best gamepad.' And while this $30 discount doesn't quite hit the $50 cheaper price point our reviewer wanted to see, it does get the Edge much closer to being considered good value for money. Beyond the price, its only major weakness is the poor battery life, which is worse than the standard DualSense. That's especially disappointing as the regular PS5 pad is notorious for running out of juice by the end of even a modestly long play session. Still, so long as you've got the supplied USB-C cable to hand, this issue becomes only a minor annoyance and not a dealbreaker. Nevertheless, if you're a dedicated PlayStation gamer, you'll want to consider upgrading to a DualSense Edge. If you take your online gaming seriously, it might just give you a slight advantage in a hectic firefight, which can be the difference between victory and defeat. And thanks to this limited-time deal, now is the best time to buy one.

PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection restock live — where to get limited-edition PS5 Slim, DualSense and PS Portal today

1. Quick Links2. U.S. restock3. U.K. restock4. LIVE: Latest updates Second chances don't come around all too often, especially when it comes to scoring limited-edition items like the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. If you'd asked me just a few days ago whether I thought Sony would ever restock the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection, my answer would have been a resounding no. But it turns out I'd have been very much mistaken. To my great surprise, Sony has confirmed it will be restocking select items from the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection this week. But quantities will be "highly limited" so you'll need to check out super fast when they drop. The ultra-rare PS5 Pro bundle isn't resurfacing, but in the U.K., the limited-edition PS5 Slim Bundle, PlayStation Portal and DualSense controller decked out in retro PS1-style grey are all returning today (July 21) at 10 a.m. BST. Meanwhile, in the U.S., the restock is pretty limited. Only the 30th Anniversary DualSense controller will be restocked (on July 21 at 7 a.m. PT). But still, this nostalgia-baiting PS5 pad has been sold out for months, and is still highly sought-after, so I'm confident it's going to sell out in a matter of seconds. You will need a PlayStation Plus membership (any tier) to purchase and the restock is taking place exclusively at PlayStation Direct. Don't have a PS+ subscription? There will be a second restock open to all on Wednesday, July 23. I've been tracking hard-to-buy gaming items for more than five years, from the original run of the 30th Anniversary Collection to the currently sold-out Nintendo Switch 2, and I'm here to help you score a limited-edition item in this restock with live updates and the latest reports on availability all week long. The regular PS5 DualSense Controller has been given a special 30th Anniversary makeover. This limited-edition PS5 pad celebrates the look of the original PlayStation controller and is the most affordable item in the 30th Anniversary Collection. It will be restocked at 7 a.m. PT on July 21. Check stock: $79 @ Amazon | $79 @ Best Buy | $79 @ GameStop | $79 @ Walmart The PS5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary Edition Bundle includes a PS5 Digital Edition console with 1TB storage, a DualSense controller and a vertical stand all decked out in a retro gray colorway. Again, it comes with a Console Cover for the PS5 Disc Drive, but the Disc Drive itself is sold separately. It's set to be restocked on PlayStation Direct at 10 a.m. BST on Monday, July 21. The PlayStation Portal Remote Player has got a retro coat of paint to celebrate PlayStation's 30th Anniversary. This device allows you to stream games from your PS5 console to this handheld device, allowing you to enjoy your games away from your actual console (as long as you have a strong internet connection). The PS5's DualSense Controller has never looked more nostalgic than it does wrapped in this PS1-themed colorway as part of the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. This limited-edition controller is being restocked at 10 a.m. BST on July 21, but you'll need a PS+ membership to buy.

PS5 consoles get massive £90 price cut in PlayStation sale

Metro journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more As part of the PlayStation summer sale, Sony has cut the price of various PS5 consoles, with the cheapest being less than £340. Sony's PlayStation 5 has been out for nearly five years, but it still hasn't received any permanent price cut – instead, Sony has bumped up the price several times since 2020. The company has blamed the 'challenging economic environment' for these price hikes, most recently in April, but it means any temporary discounts are worth capitalising on to lessen the financial damage. If you've been on the fence about a PlayStation 5, Sony has now slashed the prices across various models on the PlayStation Direct store. As part of its summer sale, which has also seen thousands of games discounted across the PlayStation Store, the PlayStation 5 console with a disc drive is £45 off at £434.99. However, if you don't require a disc drive (or prefer to buy one later), you can pick up the digital version for only £339.99, which is £90 off the original £429.99 price. Before the recent price hike, the PlayStation 5 digital edition cost £389.99, so you're still saving £50 from the previous price. If you fancy picking up another DualSense controller, there are other bundles too. The digital version with two controllers is £90 off at £389.99, while the standard console with another DualSense is £45 off at £484.99. More Trending While there's no discount on the PS5 Pro, you can pick up the base PlayStation 5 console with a 24-month PlayStation Plus Premium subscription for £634.99, which is £45 off. This is the highest tier of PlayStation Plus, which usually costs £119.99 per year. These deals are live now and run until July 29, 2025, while supplies last. It's not a bad time to pick up the console either. PlayStation 5 exclusive Death Stranding 2: On The Beach recently launched, and Ghost of Yōtei is set to drop on October 2, 2025. You can also catch up on the likes of Returnal, Astro Bot, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. While the PlayStation 5 is still going strong, Sony has already been talking about the console's successor, which is expected to launch around 2027. Ghost Of Yōtei has its own limited edition PS5 – here's where you can buy it

Sony has announced two new PlayStation 5 consoles that come with Ghost Of Yōtei, ahead of its launch this autumn. In case you missed it, Sony held another of its State Of Play presentations last night; one centred entirely on its next major PlayStation 5 exclusive, Ghost Of Yōtei, which is scheduled for October 2. It wasn't a particularly long showcase, clocking in at only 20 minutes, and while new details were shared, like improved combat and optional modes meant to emulate Japanese film directors Takashi Miike and Shinichirō Watanabe, it very much looks like more of Ghost Of Tsushima. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the presentation was that the game will launch with not one but two new PlayStation 5 console variants, that are included in limited edition bundles. Both versions feature the same design of Mount Yōtei, a real-life Japanese landmark that features prominently in the game, with one being coloured gold and the other being black. According to the PlayStation Blog, the former is inspired by kintsugi, an art form that involves reparing broken ceramics with gold and lacquer, while the latter is inspired by black ink paintings, also known as sumi-e, and the basis for Ōkami's art design. Each console comes with a matching DualSense controller, with protagonist Atsu depicted on the touchpad, as well as a digital copy of Ghost Of Yōtei and the pre-order content (which consists of an in-game mask for Atsu to wear and seven new PlayStation Network avatars). Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. At the time of writing, the limited edition bundles for Ghost Of Yōtei aren't available for pre-order, with Sony only saying that pre-order details will be shared at a later date. What we do know is that while the gold bundle will be sold through the PlayStation Direct store and other select retailers, the black bundle will be exclusive to PlayStation Direct. While these bundles are obviously meant to attract new PlayStation 5 owners, Sony will be selling console covers with the gold patterns separately. So, if you already own a PlayStation 5 but really like the design of the new ones, you don't have to invest in a new console. Unfortunately, Sony is only offering suitable covers for the newer slim and PlayStation 5 Pro models, meaning those who still have the original bulky model are out of luck. Plus, for whatever reason, it seems console covers with the black pattern won't be sold separately. More Trending Both the gold and black DualSense controllers will be available as individual purchases but, just like the consoles, the black one will be exclusive to PlayStation Direct. Sony hasn't shared prices yet, but you can bet these bundles won't be cheap. For what it's worth, the Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 bundles on PlayStation Direct are £339.99 for the digital edition and £434.99 for the standard edition. However, the consoles are the usual white ones, so Sony will almost certainly charge extra since these Ghost Of Yōtei bundles feature fancy new designs. Not to mention Sony bumped up the price of the digital console from £389.99 to £429.99 this past April. As for the console covers, based on the ones Sony already sells, they could cost anywhere from £44.99 to £54.99. Email gamecentral@ leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter.
