Third Georgia defensive back shuts down his recruitment

Another Georgia Bulldogs recruit has announced he's staying with Georgia. Class of 2026 four-star safety commit Zech Fort shut down his recruitment. This news is hardly shocking. Fort has been beating the drum for other recruits, such as Breck Kojolay, Preston Carey, and Zykie Helton, to come to the Georgia Bulldogs. Fort is teammates with Preston Carey at IMG Academy and Georgia has had a long list of IMG Academy alumni that played for the Bulldogs such as Nolan Smith Jr. and Ellis Robinson IV. Fort was one of the first recruits to commit to Georgia, committing in January, and now he's taken a step to cement his spot on Georgia's roster in 2026. Fort is the No. 11 safety prospect and No. 133 recruit in the nation. He was on the Polynesian Bowl roster and Under Armour All-American Game roster. While there, he was probably persuading many recruits to commit to Georgia. Georgia has the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation and the biggest part of their 2026 recruiting class is their secondary. Georgia has seven commits in the secondary, with five four-stars and two three-stars. Defensive backs Justice Fitzpatrick and Jordan Smith have already shut down their recruitment too. Florida football receiver named to ESPN's 'Three freshmen to watch' list for 2025 season

One of the nation's most highly touted incoming wide receivers is already earning national attention before his first snap for the Florida Gators. Wide receiver Dallas Wilson has been named to ESPN's "Three freshmen to watch" list ahead of the 2025 college football season. The list highlights three newcomers expected to make an immediate impact, with Wilson joining Tennessee Volunteers offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. and LSU Tigers cornerback DJ Pickett. For the Gators, the recognition adds even more excitement for an offense looking to add explosive playmakers. The Tampa Bay Tech product flipped his commitment from the Oregon Ducks to the Gators late in the recruiting process, giving Billy Napier one of his biggest recruiting wins of the cycle. In his high school career, Wilson recorded 130 receptions for 2,424 yards and 30 touchdowns, averaging an impressive 18.6 yards per catch. He was selected as an Under Armour All-American and a Polynesian Bowl participant. Given his incredible resume, it's only fitting for Wilson to be included in ESPN's list of "freshmen to watch" for the 2025 college football season. Here is everything they wrote about the talented Florida receiver. What ESPN said about Wilson "Wilson showed up instantly by catching 10 passes for almost 200 yards and two touchdowns in Florida's spring game. No matter who starts at quarterback on Week 1 for the Gators, there's a good chance they'll develop a quick connection with Wilson. "The 6-foot-4 Florida native has a massive catch radius, 10-inch hands and surprising breakaway speed given his frame. He runs a legitimate 4.5 40-yard dash and has the shiftiness to pick up yards after the catch, making him a nightmare matchup who should see the field early in The Swamp." Alabama's 5-Star Commit's Mom Clears Air on Nick Saban's Role in Son's Recruitment Process

Alabama's 5-Star Commit's Mom Clears Air on Nick Saban's Role in Son's Recruitment Process originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Five-star linebacker Xavier Griffin committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide on June 29. Advertisement Griffin, a junior at Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Georgia, stands at six feet three inches and weighs 200 pounds. According to his 247Sports player profile, he recorded 43 tackles and six sacks in eight appearances as a member of the 2026 recruiting class. As a sophomore, he was selected to the Georgia Region 8-6A first team after recording 54 tackles and 15 sacks. Griffin also showcased his talent in the Polynesian Bowl on January 16 in Hawaii and the Navy All-American Bowl on January 11 in Texas. Griffin also had the chance to meet former Alabama head coach Nick Saban during his recruiting process, which some believe influenced his decision to choose the Crimson Tide. However, Griffin's mother, Jay Clay, shut down those claims in an X post on Sunday. 'Let me make this clear for @zay_social recruitment when it comes to Alabama,' she wrote. 'Makes me mad to hear @KalenDeBoer can't recruit because our coach and his staff did a great job! I met Saban once, but he is not the one who offered or talked to us at any point.' Advertisement Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer Gary Cosby Jr.-Imagn Images Clay's remarks about her son's recruitment process come as some have criticized Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer for not being a great recruiter compared to his predecessor, Saban. But Clay's comments prove otherwise, as she credited him and the school's outside linebacker coach, Christian Robinson, with helping develop a strong connection with her son. '@crob45 was and is the 🐐 that got my son to Bama!' she continued. 'Love our staff and can't wait! Roll Tide.' Alabama's 2026 recruiting class that DeBoer has helped put together also includes five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan, four-star athlete Zyan Gibson and four-star running back Ezavier Crowell. The class is currently ranked No. 5 in the country, according to 247Sports where you can also view the full recruiting class. 2026 4-star WR and Texas A&M commit invited to Navy All-American Bowl

Texas A&M's future wide receiver corps has a chance to be elite based on the talent level head coach Mike Elko and his staff have accumulated this offseason, as four-stars Aaron Gregory, Madden Williams, and Mike Brown are all considered potential stars at the next level. What's even more impressive is that Brown, whose father, former Texas A&M defensive end Reggie Brown, is the only WR commit from Texas. Gregory, who hails from Douglasville, Georgia, and Williams, out of Bellflower, California, chose the Aggies over the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Washington, and USC, which have all produced first-round receiver talent over the last decade. While Gregory has made plenty of noise at both the Rivals Five-Star and OT7 events this summer, Williams has also shone and has reportedly earned his second bowl invitation since last week. After earning an invite to the Polynesian Bowl, it was reported that Williams, alongside several other 2026 wide receivers signed an NIL deal with Adidas, leading to Sunday's new that the California-based wideout has earned a prestigious invite to the Navy All-American Bowl, where several 2025 Texas A&M signees shined back in early January. Williams has continued to improve as a route runner and separator against press coverage, but already thrives in the middle of the field and could end up being a true threat in the slot at the next level. During his 2024 junior campaign with St. John Bosco, Williams hauled in 50 receptions, 851 yards, and 13 touchdowns as the No. 1 receiver throughout the year. According to 247Sports, Williams is currently positioned as the 39th-ranked wide receiver and the 27th-ranked prospect in California.
