Russian Foreign Ministry: Israeli attacks are collective punishment of civilians in Gaza

Moscow - Saba: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed his country's "deep" concern on Thursday over the military escalation and the ongoing airstrikes by the Israeli occupation army on the Gaza Strip. During a press conference, Lavrov stated that "the continuous Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip amount to collective punishment of civilians." He added, "What is happening in Gaza is causing extreme concern in Moscow and is difficult to justify from a humanitarian perspective. There is an urgent need for a ceasefire, immediate protection for civilians, and intensified international efforts to restore calm and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid," according to the Quds Press Agency. The Israeli enemy army continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which came into effect on January 19 of last year and lasted nearly two months after 471 days of genocide. Norwegian Development Minister: Situation in Gaza is disappointing

Oslo - Saba: Norwegian Minister of International Development, Åsmund Aukrust, stated on Friday that the situation in the Gaza Strip is "disappointing, as humanitarian aid is being used as a weapon." According to Quds Press Agency, Aukrust emphasized that "the war in Gaza must stop, and action must be taken because the number of dead and wounded is increasing every day." The Norwegian minister called for "respecting international law and allowing organizations to deliver aid to Gaza." The occupation forces renewed their aggression on the Gaza Strip at dawn on March 18, 2025, launching airstrikes across the territory, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of over 12,000 Palestinians. This escalation violated a ceasefire agreement with Palestinian resistance factions, which had lasted nearly 60 days after being mediated by the U.S., Egypt, and Qatar. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

"I did it for Gaza"... Rodriquez's cry ignites social media

Washington - Saba: An incident involving the storming of an event organized by the Israeli embassy in Washington by an activist named Elias Rodriquez, of Latin American origin—resulting in the killing of two Israeli employees and injuring others—ignited social media platforms this Thursday. According to Quds Press Agency, activists circulated video clips showing Rodriquez shouting at the moment of his arrest: "I did it for Gaza" and "Free Palestine," describing the incident as a "cry for justice against the crimes of the occupation." Two employees of the Israeli embassy were killed in a shooting near an event at the Jewish Museum in Washington on Wednesday evening (local time). Washington D.C. police stated that the shooter, identified as Elias Rodriquez, is a 30-year-old from Chicago, Illinois, and noted that his record shows no prior criminal history that would have placed him under law enforcement surveillance. Palestine Prisoners' Studies Center: 550 Arrests in April, including 14 women & 52 children

Beirut - Saba: The Palestine Center for Prisoners' Studies (an independent Beirut-based organization) reported on Sunday that the Israeli occupation authorities continued their arrest campaigns in April, recording 550 arrests in the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds. Among those detained were 14 women and 52 children, while two prisoners died due to deliberate medical neglect in Israeli jails. According to Quds Press Agency, the center noted that Israeli forces carried out mass arrests targeting dozens of Palestinians in multiple areas, including the villages of Kobar and Al-Tabaqa, the refugee camps of Al-Dheisheh and Al-Fawwar, and the cities of Al-Zahiriyya, Qalqilya, and Jaba'. Detainees were held in citizens' houses, which were turned into makeshift interrogation centers. The report also highlighted the ongoing targeting of women and children, with arrests including female university students, a journalist, and a lawyer along with her two daughters. The youngest detainee was a seven-year-old child. Regarding prisoners' health conditions, the center documented the deaths of two detainees: Nasser Redaida (49) from Bethlehem and Musab Adili (20) from Nablus, both due to medical negligence in Israeli prisons. This raises the number of Palestinian prisoners who have died in detention to 302. April also saw an escalation in administrative detention policies, with 910 new or renewed administrative detention orders issued—including against women and children. Among them was the youngest administrative detainee, a 14-year-old from Ramallah. Additionally, the center revealed shocking testimonies from released Gaza detainees, who reported enduring severe physical torture and systematic starvation in Israeli prisons, leading some to lose half their body weight. The center accused Israeli authorities of attempting to assassinate prominent prisoner figures through torture and starvation, including Abdullah Barghouti, Hassan Salameh, Abbas Al-Sayed, Muhammad Al-Natsheh, and Ma'mar Shahrour, all of whom are in critical health conditions due to abuse and neglect. The report noted that 73 detainees from Gaza were released during April via the Kerem Shalom and Karm Abu Salem crossings, including two women who had been subjected to enforced disappearance and were freed in deteriorating health conditions. Kuwaiti Writers & Analysts: Starving Gaza is deliberate crime with international sponsorship

Kuwait – Saba: Kuwaiti writers and analysts have condemned the severity of what is happening in Gaza, considering the starvation of Gaza a deliberate crime backed by international support. According to the Quds Press Agency, Kuwaiti writers and analysts criticized the international silence and UN complicity, holding governments and international organizations responsible for the humanitarian collapse in the Strip. Kuwaiti political analyst and writer Waleed Al-Ahmad stated, "The situation in Gaza has reached an unbearable stage, with the ongoing Zionist aggression closing crossings and preventing the entry of food supplies, medicine, and medical equipment—all under the watch of major international institutions, foremost the UN Security Council, which is supposed to safeguard peace and human rights." He added, "When war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu failed to decisively win the battle and could not recover the detainees held by Hamas, he resorted to a policy of starvation and slow extermination by shutting down crossings and blocking international organizations from reaching the Strip." Al-Ahmad continued, "What is truly astonishing is this shameful international silence, limited only to condemnation and denunciation without any practical steps from major powers." For his part, Kuwaiti journalist Abdulaziz Al-Fadhli expressed his astonishment at "a real famine occurring in Gaza before the eyes of the world, while international organizations, despite UN support, have failed to deliver aid for nearly two months." He added, "People have lost trust in these ineffective organizations, and it has become clear to nations—Western before Arab—the double standards and hypocrisy in positions."
