The innovative approach to moon sighting aims to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the centuries-old tradition that determines the start of the Islamic Holy Month. The Ramadan Crescent Moon Sighting Committee, operating under the UAE Council for Fatwa, has invited citizens and residents to observe the crescent moon on the evening of Saturday, March 19, 2025, (29 Ramadan 1446 AH) If you happen to spot the moon, you are encouraged to report the sighting. There's an the official hotline to call, 027774647 or an online form. The drones are expected to provide more precise data and minimise errors in determining the start of Ramadan. And while we are waiting on the drones to determine the exact date, the question on everyone's mind is will Eid be on March 30 or March 31? If you happen to spot the moon, you are encouraged to report the sighting. There's an the official hotline to call, 027774647 or an online form. The drones are expected to provide more precise data and minimise errors in determining the start of Ramadan. And while the drones will determine the date of Ramadan, its just around the corner, and while most of us are looking forward to the reduced working hours, there are so many unique things to look forward to doing in Dubai. UAE calls public to sight crescent moon on Friday to confirm start of Ramadan
The UAE Council for Fatwa is urging the public to look for the crescent moon of Ramadan 1446 AH on Friday evening. The Ramadan Crescent Moon Sighting Committee, formed under the UAE Council for Fatwa, is responsible for the moon sighting in the UAE. The Committee invites all UAE citizens and residents to report the first sighting of the crescent moon on Friday by calling 027774647 or submitting their observation through this link: February 28, 2025 (Friday) corresponds to 29 Sha'ban 1446 AH. If the crescent moon is seen, Ramadan will begin on Saturday. However, if no moon is seen, Ramadan will be declared on Sunday by default. Related Articles
