UAE Announces Moon-sighting for Ramadan 2025

The UAE has called on people in the country to look out for and report sightings of the Ramadan crescent moon on Friday.
The UAE Council for Fatwa has called on all members of the community, both citizens and residents, to watch for the crescent moon of Ramadan 1446 AH on the evening of Friday, 29 Sha'ban 1446 AH, corresponding to February 28, 2025.
The Ramadan Crescent Moon Sighting Committee, formed under the Council for Fatwa and responsible for moon sighting in the United Arab Emirates, invites anyone who spots the crescent moon to report their sighting by calling 027774647 or via this link.
The Council prays that the blessed month of Ramadan brings goodness, prosperity, and blessings to the Arab and Islamic nations and the world at large.

Oman was fifth regionally and 50th globally on 0.858, while Kuwait placed sixth among Arab states and 52nd overall with 0.852. In North Africa, Algeria ranked 96th globally with a score of 0.763. Jordan and Egypt shared 100th place on 0.754. Lebanon was 102nd with 0.752, followed by Tunisia in 105th with 0.746. Libya ranked 110th on 0.721, Morocco 120th on 0.710, and Iraq 126th on 0.695. Palestine was last among Arab states, in 133rd place with 0.674. The HDI is calculated using life expectancy at birth, mean years of schooling and educational attainment, and gross national income per capita. Scores range from zero to one, with higher values indicating stronger development in those areas.

Bahrain: Admissions Open At Abdullah Bin Khalid College For Islamic Studies

Abdullah bin Khalid College for Islamic Studies has announced the opening of admissions for both male and female students interested in enrolling in the Bachelor's Program in Islamic Studies for the academic year 2025–2026. The application period will begin on Sunday, August 3, 2025, and continue until Thursday, August 7, 2025. Applicants must hold a high school certificate or an equivalent qualification with a cumulative GPA of no less than 70 percent. Graduates Eligibility is limited to graduates of the 2024–2025 academic year from the Religious Institute, the Ja'fari Religious Institute, or from public and private schools. Students who meet the admission requirements are invited to submit their applications via email to bh. Submissions must include the applicant's full name, personal identification number, and contact phone numbers. Documents Required documents include a copy of a valid passport and national ID card, ID card data extracted using a card reader, the graduation certificate and academic transcript, and two recent personal photographs. Applicants who graduated from private schools must also provide an equivalency certificate issued by the Private Schools Licensing and Supervision Directorate at the Ministry of Education.
