Drake Debuts His Latest Superstar Collaboration At No. 1

Drake is accustomed to reaching No. 1s on the Billboard charts, and his latest smash adds several more winners to his already-historic tally. The rapper has been one of the most successful names in American music for more than a decade, and he often launches new cuts directly in the top spot. That is true again this frame with 'Which One,' his new collaboration with U.K. star Central Cee. While it misses one major throne by a single spot, it still opens as a champion on multiple lists. Three New No. 1s for 'Which One' 'Which One' starts at No. 1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs, Rap Streaming Songs, and Rap Digital Song Sales charts this week. The track is a major smash on streaming platforms – which is a common occurrence for the Canadian hip-hop talent – and even a bestseller, though only when looking specifically at rap. Drake's Career Totals Reach New Heights As 'Which One' arrives, Drake has now collected 27 No. 1s on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart, 22 on the Rap Streaming Songs list, and 25 on the Rap Digital Song Sales tally. On each roster, he has earned well over 120 top 10s — a feat no other rapper has matched. 'Which One' Opens High on Other Rankings Beyond its trio of debuts at No. 1, 'Which One' enters inside the top 10 on several other Billboard tallies. The cut opens at No. 8 on the Streaming Songs chart, No. 3 on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales lists, and in the runner-up spot on the Hot Rap Songs roster. On that last ranking, Drake is held at bay by Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther,' which extends its run as the longest leader in the chart's history. Another Hot 100 Win for Drake On the all-genre Hot 100, 'Which One' begins at No. 23, marking Drake's three-hundred-and-sixtieth career entry. That is significantly more than any other artist has managed, and he extends his lead over every other artist yet again. The collaboration also earns a quick start on the Rap Airplay chart, beginning its time at No. 25. Following What Did I Miss?' The new cut comes just a month after Drake's solo single 'What Did I Miss?,' which is dipping on most lists but still climbing to new highs on the Radio Songs, R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, and Rap Airplay charts. Both tracks are expected to be featured on his upcoming album Iceman, which is rumored to be released later this year. A Shift Back to Rap on 'Which One' Earlier in 2025, Drake teamed with PartyNextDoor on a joint project heavy on R&B-leaning tracks titled Some Sexy Songs 4 U. 'Which One' brings him back to a more assertive rap style, pairing his own verses with Cee's in another team-up for the two.

Rakim Responds to Kendrick Lamar's ‘Chains & Whips' Name-Drop: ‘I Salute You, King'

Rap's professor emeritus Rakim responded to Kendrick Lamar name-dropping him on his 'Chains & Whips' guest verse from the Clipse's new album Let God Sort Em Out. In the verse, Lamar suggested he might consider splitting his riches with the rapper thanks to his influence over the modern rap scene. 'The things I've seen under my eyelids/ Kaleidoscope dreams, murder, and sirens,' Lamar rapped. 'Let's be clear, hip-hop died again/ Half of my profits may go to Rakim.' 'I salute you king,' he wrote. 'Thanks for the illest shout I heard in a long time, and keep up the incredible work my brother, you ain't no joke!!!! Peace and blessings to you and yours.' This isn't the first time the rap legend saluted Kendrick. During an interview with Billboard last year, he was asked about Lamar's battle with Drake and showed love to both of them for stepping into the ring and keeping it hip-hop. 'You know, a lot of people in that position won't accept no challenge, because they got too much to lose,' he said. 'So, it was dope that these brothers put the mainstream success down and said, 'Yeah, let's do it.'' Rakim continued, adding that the battle helped define the difference between 'real hip-hop' and more modern, popular versions of the artform. 'Younger artists now know that there's a difference. A lot of them didn't even understand that,' he said. 'They just listened to the majority, not knowing that a lot of people don't categorize what they were hearing as real hip-hop. The battle was very needed for the genre. I tip my hat to them brothers. Let's just hope that it stays to the music.' In related Drake and Kendrick news, the former just finished headlining London's Wireless festival for three days, while the latter is in the midst of the European leg of his Grand National Tour with SZA. Lil Wayne's New Album Reminds Fans How Much They Love His Older Work

As Lil Wayne's Tha Carter VI debuts, Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV both return to various ... More Billboard charts, years after their release. ATLANTA, GEORGIA - JANUARY 18: Lil Wayne performs onstage during the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! concert at State Farm Arena on January 18, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by) Lil Wayne's Tha Carter VI misses the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 this week, as no one was going to beat Morgan Wallen's massive I'm the Problem. The country behemoth has held atop the ranking of the most consumed full-length in the United States for a month now, and will likely keep in first place for a while. The hip-hop superstar does manage to conquer several genre-specific rankings with the sixth installment in his semi-self-titled series. As Tha Carter VI debuts, several of its predecessors return to various Billboard rankings. Tha Carter III — perhaps the most successful and best-known of Wayne's six-part collection — reenters the Top Rap Albums chart at No. 17. At the same time, it grows considerably on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and all-genre Billboard 200 lists, rising to Nos. 26 and 103, respectively. Tha Carter IV also manages to break back onto one tally. While it doesn't reach the Top Rap Albums list, which features just 25 spots, it does crack the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally, returning at No. 41. Simultaneously, it bolts more than 20 spaces on the Billboard 200, ascending from No. 179 to No. 152. Tha Carter VI launches atop both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums rankings. Wayne earns his eleventh leader on the all-encompassing list of the biggest titles in both genres and secures his milestone tenth champion on the rap-only roster. The project is a top five winner on every Billboard tally on which it appears. It only misses the summit on a few other rankings by a narrow margin. Tha Carter VI debuts in the runner-up space on both the Billboard 200 and Top Streaming Albums charts, and comes in third on both the Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums rankings. In its first seven days of availability, Tha Carter VI moved 108,000 equivalent units. That would normally be enough for it to compete for the top spot on the Billboard 200, but it wasn't this time around. This frame, Wallen's One Thing at a Time wins with 208,000 units.
