Pontiff of Sode Vadiraja Mutt inaugurates sacred vanas in Sri City
Tirupati: Pontiff of Sri Sode Vadiraja Mutt in Udupi Vishwavallabha Theertha Swami paid a spiritual visit to Sri City on Friday and inaugurated several vanas in its vicinity. He was given an overview of Sri City's vision, development through a detailed presentation by its MD Dr Ravindra Sannareddy. Swamiji had an interactive session with CXOs and senior executives of various resident industries. Addressing the gathering, he remarked that wherever sincere human effort is present, success is inevitable. He noted that Sri City is evidently blessed by the Divine, which is why it is flourishing into a world-class hub known for outstanding products. He also visited Prasanna Venkateswara Temple located near the Sri City Nursery in Aruru where he offered prayers and presided over the inauguration of three spiritually significant green spaces, Nakshatra Vanam, Rasi Vanam, and Navagraha Vanam. Emphasising the deeper meaning of these sacred groves, Swamiji highlighted their role in fostering environmental awareness and reviving the ancient Indian tradition of aligning nature with spirituality. Sri City MD Dr Ravindra Sannareddy said, 'Swami's visit inspires our mission to nurture Sri City as a place where spiritual roots, ecological values, and industrial innovation coexist in harmony'.

Sri City champions sustainability with major green initiatives
Tirupati: Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to sustainability, Sri City observed World Environment Day by launching several impactful green initiatives under the theme, 'Combating Plastic Pollution.' The day's events highlighted Sri City's comprehensive approach to ecosystem restoration, clean energy, and responsible industrial practices. A key highlight was the launch of Phase 6 of Miyawaki Plantation Drive at Electronics Manufacturing Cluster. This high-density afforestation technique is crucial for building urban green lungs, boosting biodiversity, and creating vital carbon sinks within Sri City. SS Murali, Senior Environmental Engineer at AP Pollution Control Board (Tirupati Zone), attended as chief guest, commending Sri City's consistent environmental efforts and emphasizing the need for collective action against plastic pollution. 'Sri City's efforts are a shining example of how industries can lead the way in building a cleaner, greener future,' he stated. Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, Sri City Founder and Managing Director, underscored the importance of the '3R' principle—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—as the bedrock of sustainable development. He explained how Sri City integrates this principle into all its operations, from pollution control and waste management to afforestation and public awareness campaigns like 'Green & Clean'. The celebration saw broad participation from APPCB officials, Sri City's environmental team, and employees from companies like Nova Air, Bombay Coatings, and Sundram Fasteners, all sharing a vision for a more sustainable future. 6.2 MW captive solar power plant was inaugurated at Mondelez India's Sri City facility and a 350 KW rooftop solar unit at Bergen Pipe Supports (Phase 2). At Bergen, the solar unit was switched on by Rutger Albert Helbing, CEO of Hill & Smith Holdings, alongside the Sri City MD.

LG's third plant in India to come up in Sri City with Rs 5k crore
TIRUPATI: LG Electronics is set to invest Rs 5,001 crore on a new manufacturing plant in Sri City, a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Tirupati district. The groundbreaking ceremony for the plant will be held on May 8. In an interview with TNIE, Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder and Managing Director of Sri City, said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh have made concerted efforts to get LG to Andhra Pradesh. LG, which currently operates manufacturing units in Pune and Noida, is setting up its third plant in India, and the first in South India in Sri City. The proposed facility in Sri City will manufacture a wide range of consumer electronics, including refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, televisions, and compressors. Commercial production is expected to commence within the next two to three years, he explained. To support the project, the State government has announced various incentives, including a 100% water supply subsidy for 20 years, and waiver of stamp duty and registration charges. The new plant is expected to benefit both Rayalaseema and the neighbouring Nellore districts, significantly boosting employment and industrial activity in the backward region, he said. MSME Minister visits Sri City, lays foundation for Gupta Oxygen unit
Tirupati: AP MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas visited Sri City on Wednesday. Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, MD of Sri City, briefed him on its infrastructure and MSME-driven growth. Highlighting the role of MSMEs in job creation and innovation, Sannareddy emphasized their integration with global firms for balanced industrial development. The Minister inaugurated the Rs 40 crore Gupta Oxygen Pvt. Ltd. MSME unit, scheduled for completion in October 2025. The facility, under the 'DewGas' brand, will create 50+ jobs and supply refrigerant and industrial gases to clients like Godrej, Bluestar, and Indian Railways. Lauding Sri City's transformation, the Minister praised its scale, infrastructure, and investor-friendly ecosystem. Reaffirming the state's commitment to industrial growth, he outlined plans under the new Industrial Policy focused on MSME support, logistics, skill development, and swift project execution. He also interacted with industry representatives, encouraging suggestions and proposing a nearby MSME park due to Sri City's green zone status. The Minister was accompanied by key officials, including FSME India President APK Reddy and Satyavedu MLA K. Adimulam.
