The Nebraska baseball team started the 2025 Big Ten Tournament in style on Tuesday evening. The Huskers defeated the Michigan State Spartans 5-4 in 10 innings. Robby Bolin hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the tenth to give Nebraska the victory. The Cornhuskers scored five runs on 12 hits with one error to improve to 29-27 on the season. The Spartans had four runs on seven hits with two errors to fall to 28-26 overall. Advertisement Nebraska pitcher Luke Broderick earned the win to improve to 4-2 on the season. The right-handed pitcher threw 3.1 innings, surrendering two hits and striking out two batters. Dominic Pianto was given the loss for Michigan State. The Nebraska Cornhuskers will continue play in the Big Ten Tournament on Friday night against the No. 1-seed Oregon Ducks. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT on BTN. Nebraska won the day 5-4 to even the series in front of a season-high crowd of 6,785. Nebraska got the victory in game-winning fashion with Robby Bolin hitting a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. Bolin finished 2-for-5 on the day with two RBIs, handing the Huskers their final two runs of the game. This capped off the Huskers' comeback after the Golden Gophers took a 3-0 lead in the third. Nebraska tied the game in the fourth off a Tyler Stone three-run home run, Stone's only hit of the game. Devin Nunez hit 2-for-2 with a run scored while Cayden Brumbaugh, Gabe Swansen, Dylan Carey, and Will Jesske all served up one hit apiece. Ty Horn started at pitcher for Nebraska, going 6.0 innings and striking out six. He surrendered four runs off seven hits. Tucker Timmerman (1-1) closed out the game, shutting down the Golden Gophers across the final three frames to get the win. Nebraska will conclude the series with Minnesota on Sunday afternoon. The Huskers failed to score, resulting in their second shutout loss of the season, 4-0. The Huskers' best opportunity occurred in the first inning, with two runners on and one in scoring position. But the Jayhawks tagged both runners out on steal attempts, ending the inning. Kansas immediately capitalized on the momentum swing, scoring twice in the second. The Jayhawks then scored two more times, one in the seventh and one in the ninth. Nebraska totaled seven hits, while Kansas recorded nine hits. Max Buettenback produced two hits, going 2-for-4 with a double. Robby Bolin, Tyler Stone, Gabe Swansen, Case Sanderson and Will Jesske all recorded one hit. Kansas sent six pitchers to the mound and shut down the Huskers on the day, combining for six strikeouts and allowing seven hits.
