Locals prepare for grilling season with hardware and tools
AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – We've had a pretty wet spring, and that might have kept you from getting out and doing those outdoor projects. Of course, the weather needs to cooperate, but when it does, there are a lot of things you can be doing now. June starts this weekend, and warmer weather will be setting in soon. It's the time of year when people like to get outside and tackle tasks around the yard and house. And of course, in order to get out and do a lot of outdoor projects, the weather needs to cooperate. The rainy weather we've had this spring, especially on the weekends, has kept people from doing a lot of outdoor painting. Bob Parent, Asst. Manager at Rocky's Ace Hardware in Agawam, told 22News, 'People are questioning and getting ready, but they're waiting for a drier season. You need a couple two three days of dry time before you paint, so we're not seeing a lot of exterior staining and painting at this time.' People are looking to get outside and do some cleaning, and the bugs are out now, so insect sprays and bug zappers are pretty popular. It's also time to get ready for those summer cookouts. 'Right now grills are selling good and grill accessories, the charcoal and the tools for the grilling,' Parent adds. 'Right now is grilling season, and we can see that by the foot traffic in the grilling area.' And of course, there are plenty of lawn mowers available, but you may just have to wait for a dry day to get out and use them.
