Kanye West Releases Lost Album ‘Donda 2' to Streaming Services
Kanye West has released his lost album 'Donda 2' after he revealed on a livestream that he was planning to drop the record today. The roots for 'Donda 2' date back to early 2022, when the rapper posted on Instagram that the sequel to his 2021 album would arrive that February and be executive produced by Future. The album was only released on Stem Player, forgoing traditional streaming services, and some songs from the project were reconfigured for artists including Fivio Foreign and the Game. The lot of the songs appear to be the same, some with different names, and Future cameos on several tracks including 'Happy' and 'Mr. Miyagi.' '5:30,' which was included on West's 'Vultures 2' album with Ty Dolla Sign, also pops up on the tracklist. Jack Harlow features on the track 'Louie Bag,' while Sean Leon cameos on 'SCIFI.' West's ex-wife Kim Kardashian can also be heard on 'SCIFI,' saying, 'I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he's the richest Black man in America. A talented, legit genius who gave me four talented, incredible kids.' Amid his unhinged rants on X, West has been prolific, sharing various songs on social media and flash-releasing his most recent album 'Bully.' He dropped 'Bully' in March in the form of various short films that featured his song Saint West in a wrestling ring using a mallet to fend off YOH, Toru Yano, Tiger Mask and El Desperado. The videos swiftly disappeared from social media, leaving the future of 'Bully' and its official release in limbo. Also unclear: If 'Donda 2' will be released to streaming services at large, or will remain on the ones they appeared. Later in February, he took to X in a tirade against Jews in a series of posts (before temporarily deleting his account) and, in an ad, he directed Super Bowl viewers to his website (now down) where the only item he was selling was a $20 T-shirt featuring a swastika. Last month, the controversial Grammy-winning rapper seemingly released a new collaboration with the embattled hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs in a since-deleted post on X, according to People magazine and Billboard. The track, titled "Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine," also featured vocals from Ye's daughter North West, Combs' son Christian "King" Combs and Yeezy artist Jasmine Williams. It's 2025 and Kanye West just did the most Kanye thing ever—he surprise-dropped Donda 2, the so-called 'lost' sequel to his 2021 Donda, straight onto Spotify and Tidal like it never ghosted us in the first place. Kanye West new album titled Donda 2 released After two years of cryptic livestreams, broken promises, and that bizarre Stem Player exclusivity stunt, Ye's fans can finally breathe—and stream. Initially teased in early 2022, the project had been locked away like a secret mixtape only the chosen few (with cash to burn on that USB-like gadget) could hear. But now? It is public, chaotic, and classic Kanye. What is Donda? Titled Donda on platforms, yes, he kept it minimalistic, it is a sprawling 18-track fever dream featuring Future, Ty Dolla Sign, Jack Harlow, and even his ex-wife Kim Kardashian... sort of. The track SCIFI includes a rather iconic clip from Kim's 2021 Saturday Night Live monologue where she, very diplomatically, describes Ye as a genius and 'the richest Black man in America.' No word yet on whether Kim, now 44, signed off on the cameo, but it is giving very much 'I forgot I had a mic on.' Me 5 seconds into Kanye West's "DONDA 2" Jack Harlow also pulls up with his lyrical luggage on Louie Bag, while the album's production sounds like a rollercoaster through Ye's mind—loud, unpredictable, and unapologetically out there. Of course, this is Kanye we are talking about. The man who literally said he admired Hitler and called it a 'social experiment.' Back in 2022, those antisemitic rants got him cancelled by brands faster than you can say 'Yeezy.' And just earlier this year, he spun another series of hate-fuelled tweets into the ether, claiming (and then unclaiming) that it was all for art. Kanye West's album starring his son Saint Despite it all, Ye stays musically active. Remember Bully? That random short film album that starred his son Saint West fighting anime wrestlers in a ring? Yeah, us neither. It vanished from the internet faster than his last apology. How listening to Kanye West "DONDA 2" feels like. As for Donda 2, Ye said during a livestream that this is not the final form. The album might keep evolving—because why release a finished album when you can drop an eternal WIP instead? In the world of Ye, nothing is ever really finished... except maybe your patience.
