Kavitha vows to expose coverts in BRS

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Friday said that merging or joining hands with the BJP would amount to admitting her involvement in the Delhi liquor scam. Her comments came a day after she claimed that discussions regarding the BRS-BJP merger took place when she was in jail. She asserted that any party joining hands with the BJP has no future. "My only concern is to protect my party — BRS — from any such attempts and from coverts within the party," she said. When asked, Kavitha said she was not expecting any disciplinary action from the BRS, including expulsion, for her comments during a press meet on Thursday or her 'feedback letter'. Kavitha said that she had not crossed the party lines. Addressing the media at the Mancherial district headquarters on Friday, Kavitha reiterated to expose the names of the persons who leaked her 'feedback letter' addressed to her father and BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao. The MLC clarified that she has no intention to float a new political party and that her aim is solely to safeguard the BRS. The MLC also slammed the Congress party for insulting the Dalit MP from Peddapalli by violating protocol during Saraswathi Pushkarams. "Revanth Reddy also insulted the deputy chief minister at Yadagirigutta temple earlier," she said. Kavitha announced that she would organise a BC round table in the Adilabad district soon. Commenting on Operation Kagar, Kavitha accused the BJP govt of handling it in an inhumane manner by not handing over Nambala Keshava Rao's body to his family members. She demanded the BJP govt to halt the operation immediately. Meanwhile, BRS leaders from Mancherial stayed away from her during her tour of Mancherial. Only Telangana Jagruthi leaders met her and participated in the private programmes. In a press meet at Suryapet, BRS leader and ex-minister G Jagadish Reddy said the BRS has no plan to merge the party with the BJP, now or in the future. He stated that the pink party would fight the elections independently and that KCR would become chief minister for a third time.
