Kavitha vows to expose coverts in BRS

Time of India4 days ago

Hyderabad: BRS MLC
Kalvakuntla Kavitha
on Friday said that merging or joining hands with the BJP would amount to admitting her involvement in the Delhi liquor scam. Her comments came a day after she claimed that discussions regarding the BRS-BJP merger took place when she was in jail.
She asserted that any party joining hands with the BJP has no future. "My only concern is to protect my party — BRS — from any such attempts and from coverts within the party," she said. When asked, Kavitha said she was not expecting any disciplinary action from the BRS, including expulsion, for her comments during a press meet on Thursday or her 'feedback letter'. Kavitha said that she had not crossed the party lines.
Addressing the media at the Mancherial district headquarters on Friday, Kavitha reiterated to expose the names of the persons who leaked her 'feedback letter' addressed to her father and BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.
The MLC clarified that she has no intention to float a new political party and that her aim is solely to safeguard the BRS.
The MLC also slammed the Congress party for insulting the Dalit MP from Peddapalli by violating protocol during Saraswathi Pushkarams. "Revanth Reddy also insulted the deputy chief minister at Yadagirigutta temple earlier," she said. Kavitha announced that she would organise a BC round table in the Adilabad district soon.
Commenting on Operation Kagar, Kavitha accused the BJP govt of handling it in an inhumane manner by not handing over Nambala Keshava Rao's body to his family members. She demanded the BJP govt to halt the operation immediately.
Meanwhile, BRS leaders from Mancherial stayed away from her during her tour of Mancherial. Only Telangana Jagruthi leaders met her and participated in the private programmes.
In a press meet at Suryapet, BRS leader and ex-minister G Jagadish Reddy said the BRS has no plan to merge the party with the BJP, now or in the future. He stated that the pink party would fight the elections independently and that KCR would become chief minister for a third time.

"Productive, meaningful": BJP's V Muraleedharan hails all-party global outreach campaign

Cairo [Egypt], June 4 (ANI): Calling India's global outreach campaign against state-sponsored terrorism 'productive' and meaningful', Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and multi-party delegation member V Muraleedharan asserted that the international community supported India's efforts to counter terrorism during the campaign. Speaking to ANI, the BJP leader also called for a global initiative against terrorism and all its forms and manifestations. '...I found it very much productive and very meaningful, and I found a consensus among everyone in favour of India, especially on the issue of terrorism. Everyone condemned the terrorist attacks that happened, and everyone was supportive of the efforts that India is making to counter terrorism. It just also felt that a global initiative has to be there and a consensus has to be created across the world against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,' Muraleedharan said. BJP leader V Muraleedharan was a member of an all-party delegation led by NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule that has completed its 4-nation visit to South Africa, Ethiopia, Egypt, and Qatar. Earlier, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MP Supriya Sule said on Tuesday that the group held a constructive meeting with Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. He reassured them that India and Egypt need to work together in peace, trade, and culture, as the two nations are uniquely placed. While interacting with local leaders, opinion makers, and think tanks in Cairo earlier, Sule expressed gratitude to Egyptian leadership for standing firmly with India during the challenging and painful time and expressed her commitment to peace. She said that India launched Operation Sindoor under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She added that PM Modi sent seven groups of parliamentary delegations to several nations. Supriya Sule noted that the delegation's visit to Egypt comes at an extraordinarily challenging time in India. She recalled how 26 innocent civilians were killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22. Highlighting the efforts made by the Indian government to normalise ties with Pakistan, Supriya Sule said, 'When this attack happened, clearly, it came as a surprise and a shock to all of us because our Prime Minister, when he first took oath in 2014, made an effort which was a part of continuity. Earlier, we had Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ji for 10 years, who was one of the finest leaders India has seen, who reached out to all the countries, and as you're all aware, governance is continued. So, we have made sure that what Atal Bihari Vajpayee did as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ji and now Prime Minister Modi ji.' On Tuesday, Supriya Sule met Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in the New Administrative Capital. After the meeting concluded, Badr Abdelatty condemned the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 civilians and said that such attacks can't be tolerated. The delegation, led by Supriya Sule, includes Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Vikramjeet Singh Sahney, Manish Tewari, Anurag Singh Thakur, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Anand Sharma, V Muraleedharan and Syed Akbaruddin. The delegation briefed international partners on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its broader fight against cross-border terrorism while engaging with leaders in key countries. "India peace-loving country, but will respond firmly to provocation": Anurag Thakur

Cairo [Egypt], June 4 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Anurag Thakur, who is part of the all-party delegation led by Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) or NCP SP MP Supriya Sule, reaffirmed India's commitment to peace and issued a stern warning that any provocation or threat to the nation's security will be met with firm and decisive action. He emphasised that while India stands as a peace-loving nation, it will not hesitate to act decisively if its sovereignty or the safety of its citizens is threatened. 'The safety of 140 crore Indians and the security of our country's borders is our utmost priority. We have delivered a clear message to the world that India will take every step necessary to safeguard its citizens, its unity, and its territorial integrity,' Anurag Thakur told ANI. Reiterating India's long-standing stance of non-aggression, Thakur stated, 'We never attack anyone. We are a peace-loving country, but we will not remain quiet if someone disturbs that peace.' Anurag Thakur reinforced India's uncompromising stance on terrorism and said that countries using nuclear capabilities as a shield while fostering terror groups will not be able to intimidate India. 'Those who hide behind nuclear power, shelter, train terror outfits and spread cross-border terrorism, must understand -- nuclear threat will not work,' Thakur said, in a pointed reference widely seen as directed at Pakistan. He further accused Pakistan of sponsoring terrorism, saying, 'In all these countries, we told the people in the government and others that Pakistan sponsors terrorism. The top brass of the Pakistani army attends the funeral of designated terrorists.' Calling for collective global action, Thakur stressed the need for an international alliance to eradicate terrorism. 'Everyone condemned terrorism. There is a need for a global coalition against terrorism to uproot this disease from the entire world,' he said. The multi-party delegation, led by Supriya Sule, concluded its official visit to Egypt. On Tuesday, members met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in the New Administrative Capital. After the meeting concluded, Badr Abdelatty condemned the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 civilians and said that such attacks can't be tolerated. Labelling the relationship between India and Egypt as 'historic,' Abdelatty added that Egypt and India need to enhance their economic relationship to match the excellent political relationship between the two countries and their leaders. The delegation led by Supriya Sule includes Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Vikramjeet Singh Sahney, Manish Tewari, Anurag Singh Thakur, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Anand Sharma, former Minister of Commerce and Industry, V Muraleedharan, Former Minister of State for External Affairs, and Syed Akbaruddin, Former Permanent Representative of India to the UN. The Supriya Sule-led parliamentary delegation also paid a floral tribute to Indian soldiers at the Heliopolis War Memorial, who laid their lives in World War I and World War II. Earlier, Congress MP Manish Tewari said the Indian all-party parliamentary delegation began its visit to Egypt with a series of high-level interactions with key members of the Egyptian Parliament and foreign affairs experts, focusing on security cooperation and the fight against state-sponsored terrorism. Tewari said that as part of their diplomatic outreach, the delegation also visited the Egyptian Council of Foreign Relations, a leading think tank, where they met former Foreign Minister Mohamed Orabi and other senior ambassadors, both serving and retired. The delegation aims to brief international partners on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its broader fight against cross-border terrorism while engaging with leaders in key countries. The multi-party delegation, consisting of seven groups led by one MP each, has been initiated to counter global misinformation and highlight India's zero-tolerance policy on terrorism. (ANI)
