Sayyid Badr, Saudi counterpart visit Empty Quarter border crossing
Ibri: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Monday visited the the Empty Quarter border crossing linking the two countries. During the visit, the two ministers reviewed the facilities and the services provided by the crossing boarder to enhance commercial, tourist, and transit traffic. This comes as part of the ongoing cooperation and integration between the two countries across various fields, reflecting the distinguished fraternal ties between their peoples. The visit underscores the mutual commitment to bolstering logistical and economic cooperation, in line with the aspirations of both countries' leadership under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and Oman's Vision 2040.

Oman, UK explore means of boosting cooperation
Muscat — Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister received in his office today David Lammy, UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Commonwealth and Development Affairs. During the meeting, the two ministers affirmed the joint desire to follow up all areas of cooperation and means of promoting them to serve the joint interests. The two sides also emphasized the importance of continued consultation, coordination, and cooperation in all efforts that would strengthen the foundations of regional security, stability and peace. They also supported resolving issues through dialogue and diplomatic means, ensuring greater benefits for all countries and peoples. The Foreign Minister underlined Oman's support for negotiations aimed at finalizing a free trade agreement between the GCC countries and the United Kingdom. The meeting was attended by Munthir Mahfoudh Al Manthri, Sir Oliver Robbins, Permanent Under-Secretary at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Dr. Lianne Sanders, UK Ambassador to Oman.

Sayyid Badr, Turkish counterpart discuss means of boosting cooperation
Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye explored means of boosting cooperation between Oman and Türkiye in various areas, in a manner that serves the joint interests. During a phone call made between the two ministers on Wednesday, both sides exchanged views on several regional and international issues, underscoring the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing challenges and promoting security and stability. Sayyid Badr expressed his sympathy and solidarity with Türkiye following the earthquake that struck Istanbul earlier on Wednesday. On his turn, the Turkish Minister conveyed his country's appreciation for Oman's efforts in facilitating talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America to reach a just and lasting agreement that serves the security and stability of the region.

Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar speaks to Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr
New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a telephonic conversation with the Foreign Minister of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and shared the details of the conversation in a post on X on Sunday. In a post on X, the EAM said that the two leaders discussed the regional developments taking place. The EAM wrote on X, "Appreciate the telecon with FM @badralbusaidi of Oman today. Discussed recent regional developments." Previously, Al Jazeera reported that the United States and Iran had concluded "indirect" negotiations in Muscat, Oman, and agreed to hold further talks next week. The discussions, mediated by Oman, aimed to address key issues between the two countries. The talks were described as being conducted in a "constructive atmosphere and based on mutual respect." Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff led their respective delegations, with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi acting as chief mediator, as per Al Jazeera. The conversation between EAM Jaishankar and the Foreign Minister of Oman come after the two had held a bilateral meeting in February earlier this year. During the meeting, both leaders had reviewed the full spectrum of India-Oman relations. The EAM conveyed his appreciation to the leadership of the Sultanate of Oman for hosting the Indian Ocean Conference and for their steadfast support in strengthening India-Oman ties. Discussions also focused on avenues for further enhancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest, the MEA noted in its statement. According to the Ministry, EAM Jaishankar also unveiled the specially designed logo celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations between India and Oman, along with Sayyid Badr Albusaidi. As both countries prepare to commemorate this in 2025, the logo symbolises the long-standing partnership built on history, culture, and strong people-to-people ties. Notably, EAM Jaishankar also launched the book, Mandvi to Muscat: Indian Community and the Shared History of India and Oman, along with the Foreign Minister of Oman. Brought out by the Embassy of India in Muscat, the book highlights the rich history of the Indian diaspora in Oman and the centuries-old people-to-people ties that continue to shape bilateral relations.

UAE, Oman discuss latest round of US-Iran talks
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone conversation on Saturday with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi to discuss the latest developments in the ongoing US-Iran talks hosted by Oman. According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the UAE official expressed appreciation for Oman's constructive mediation efforts, which aim to build trust and foster stability in the region. He also expressed confidence that Oman's diplomatic endeavors would succeed in narrowing the gap between Washington and Tehran and in creating a positive atmosphere for rebuilding trust and advancing peace, security, and global stability. Earlier on Saturday, the Omani minister stated that the US-Iran negotiations in Muscat took place in a "friendly atmosphere," with the aim of promoting regional and international peace and stability. Iran and the United States concluded "indirect" talks on Saturday in the Omani capital of Muscat in a "constructive" atmosphere, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry. The two-and-a-half-hour talks between Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff centered on Tehran's nuclear issue and sanctions relief, the ministry said in a statement.
