Tamzin Outhwaite addresses 'still seeing' ex Tom Child over a year on from split

Ex EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite opened up about her close bond with her ex-partner Tom Child, over a year on from announcing their split after six years together Former EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite said she still sees her ex-partner Tom Child "a lot", despite their split. The 54-year-old announced she had parted ways with Tom, who is 20 years her junior, last summer after six years together. ‌ While exes tend to go their separate ways, Tamzin said she and her two children, Flo and Marnie, have remained closed to him - and he even has a key to her house. ‌ Speaking about her family life on the Parenting Hell podcast with Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe, she said her children still "love" Tom, who she referred to as her "mate". ‌ Quizzed on how often he is at her home, she replied: "A lot. He lives literally around the corner in a flat, and if there's any food [left] over, he eats everything." Tamzin went on to say her home is "an open house", which often has many visitors including Tom, and her children's former nanny Michelle. Additionally, the actress' father lives with her, but in a separate part of the home. "I would say it's an open house, in the same way I'd say my parents house was open," she continued. "I think I've created something that is the only thing I knew." ‌ Tamzin went on to describe her abode as a "house of fun" with "a lot of laughter", and joked that whoever comes through the door has to "lift the vibes even more". She added: "Because I'm still such a massive kid, and my ex is actually a kid because he's 20 years younger than me, so he really is one." ‌ Last month, Tamzin referred to Tom as one of her "best friends" who she "adored". Speaking of them staying in contact, she said on Hello! Magazine's Second Act podcast: "I didn't want to never see him again, so we're mates, which feels very grown up." Reflecting on adapting to single life, she added: "I'm in a phase where I need to be on my own now. I don't want to share a bed. I want to be on my own." ‌ Should the actress find love again in the future however, she is keen to keep them at a distance. "I do think one day I will meet someone and have a nice time, but they won't share my house," she admitted. ‌ Tom was Tamzin's first known long-term partner following the breakdown of her marriage to Lucifer star Tom Ellis, the father of her two children. The former couple called it quits after eight years together in 2014, due to his alleged infidelity. Tom has since found love again with actress Meaghan Oppenheimer, who he married in 2019 and shares an almost two-year-old daughter with. ‌ Meanwhile, in her latest interview, Tamzin announced that her eldest child Flo is transgender. She told Rob and Josh: "I've got two kids and I did have two daughters and now I have a son and a daughter, and that's quite easy for me to to say now but it wasn't maybe six or seven years ago. "We live in a very happy household now, full of jokes, and it's my favourite place to be at home." Addressing her reaction to the change at first, she added: "What I did initially, I was like 'don't be ridiculous', I didn't say don't be ridiculous but my mind went to 'that's ludicrous' and working back from that to talking through it."

Naga Munchetty's row with 'devastated' mum over 'wicked' decision

BBC Breakfast star Naga Munchetty has opened up on a huge decision she made with her husband which has impacted her mum Naga Munchetty has confessed that her decision not to have children with husband James Haggar caused a "rift" with her mum before the duo eventually managed to smooth things over. The 50-year-old BBC host spoke to Ateh Jewel on HELLO!' s Second Act podcast about how her mother was originally "devastated" that Naga would not be giving her any grandchildren. However, Naga has said that her mum "gets it now" after seeing her daughter "thrive" in her television career and living a good life with her other half. She recalled: 'My mum was devastated; she was from a different generation. ‌ "(But she) gets it now. She is so proud of me and so happy to see me happy and thriving. It was a conscious (decision) and I am doing lots of other things and living a very fulfilling life. She doesn't think I've wasted an opportunity. My mum has evolved in that sense.' ‌ Naga and her husband James tied the knot in 2007 after dating for several years. He also enjoys a successful broadcasting career as a television director and broadcast consultant, directing Sky News' panel programme The Pledge. Before joining Sky, he had a long-term position as a senior director at CNBC International. He was also the senior director for Five News and OK TV for seven years prior to his role at CNBC, as well as a stint with ITV studios. The pair mutually decided to not have children due to their prosperous careers. Speaking to The Times, Naga previously shared her thoughts on the life choice. ‌ She said: "We never tried and I never miscarried, we just never really wanted them. We kept putting the decision off, then life got better for us, we became more selfish . . . and just didn't find the time." She also addressed strong opinions others had about her choice, telling The Sun that she was branded "wicked" for "denying" her mother of grandchildren, adding: "It's quite interesting, isn't it, how people react?" ‌ Naga also discussed why she thinks the conversations surrounding women deciding to not have kids have changed in recent years. She said: "Once-up-on-a-time it used to be thought that if you had a career you were being selfish because you were just focusing on the career. "I don't think that is the attitude now. ‌ "Now it is just too hard, it's too expensive with childcare, and (lack of) flexibility in workplace. It is hard. "I am not saying you shouldn't have children, but there are more barriers to having children enjoyably." Naga has also candidly opened up about her health issues due to adenomyosis, which is a gynaecological condition that sees the lining of the womb grow into the muscular wall. The presenter suffered with painful heavy bleeding, fainting, vomiting and severe aching every two and a half weeks for 32 years before she finally received a private medical diagnosis of adenomyosis. Naga now takes medication "to suppress the production of my hormones" which helps with the symptoms she struggled with.

'Right now, I can't see sitting across from another guy and listening to [him],' she shared.
