Orania slams EFF, reveals why Afrikaner town SHOULD exist

Orania leaders have responded to calls from Northern Cape Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) representatives who have hailed the Afrikaner town as a 'modern day Apartheid'. They've also shared their views on why the whites-only town should exist, despite calls for it to be dismantled. On Tuesday, 22 April, the political party marched to the Premier's office, handing over a memorandum to authorities to legally view the community's status. In their official Facebook page, Orania leaders condemned the call to action by the Northern Cape EFF, particularly provincial leader Shadrack Tlhaole. The post contained the community's various reasons why Orania should have the right to exist. It read: 'We do not demand, and we do not beg. All our efforts are directly focused on construction, not on denying anyone else's rights. 'We encourage people to build schools, communities, and more. This is what the Oranians have been doing for more than thirty years with scarce resources. 'Orania exists in terms of article 235 of the constitution, historical agreements and recognition, and a God-given international law, and is completely legal. Orania is and remains an African community. Calling their town a 'Utopia', the post continued: 'A future must be built! Orania is building, and everyone is welcome to learn from it! 'Orania is not an organization that can be disbanded. We are a community, a home for our people. So, Orania will not fall; Orania will stand'. In a statement issued to The South African , the Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) backed Orania's right to exist. Northern Cape leader and MP, Dr. Wynand Boshoff, shared: 'Since its founding, the VF Plus has been advocating self-determination, as embodied by Orania, among others. Therefore, the party unequivocally rejects the EFF's demands. 'In a multi-ethnic country like South Africa, there is often a majority that pays lip service to recognising diversity but, in reality, denies it. Such a policy denies minorities the leeway to maintain a dynamic culture through various institutions. This is typically done in the name of national unity. He added: 'The opposite approach is to grant minorities all the room they need for cultural expression and even for government to promote such expression'. EFF NC leader vows to storm Orania

Northern Cape leader Shadrack Tlhaole has vowed to infiltrate the Afrikaner town of Orania, where he plans to take up residence. Provincial representatives of the political party led a march to the offices of the Premier to hand over a memorandum for a legal review on the existence of the town, which is built on private property. However, town leaders have vowed to fight back against the call to action. Addressing EFF members who had marched to hand over a memorandum to Northern Cape Premier Zamani Saul, the party's Shadrack Tlhaole called out Orania as a 'Apartheid-era racial-enclaved operating community within a democratic South Africa' He said: 'Orania is not merely a town…upheld under the false narrative of cultural autonomy. It undermines the value of non-racialism, equality, and unity that is in our constitution. Orania is a town that excludes black South Africans by race, language, and culture under the pretense of Afrikaner cultural preservation. It denies the right of back people to live, work, or own properties in the area. This is not culture; it is a modern-day Apartheid to disguise institutional racism. Thlaole then claimed that the EFF would infiltrate Orania. He continued: 'I am going to be a resident of Orania, I am going with my collective, the leadership of the EFF. I am going to fight tooth and nail to be one society; we are going to be inclusive. 'The EFF is focusing on unifying all the people. Orania on itself, if not attended to very soon, there will be tension between black and white in South Africa, so we are fighting that we are going to win.' Orania was founded by Carel Boshoff III in 1991. His son, Carel Boshoff IV, is the current leader of the whites-only town. He is also the grandson of Hendrik Verwoerd, who infamously enforced the white supremacy regime of Apartheid. Located in the Northern Cape, the community of just 3000 individuals was built on private property and is self-sufficient, with its own businesses, schools, hospitals, and even currency. Over the years, various high-profile people have visited Orania, including Gayton McKenzie, Penuel Mlotshwa, and Siv Ngesi. EFF to march against the 'existence' of Orania

Orania is a white separatist town founded by Afrikaners located along the Orange River in the Karoo. Provincial chairperson commissar Shadrack Tlhaole told SABC News that despite discussions between the Freedom Front Plus party and leaders of Orania, the march would take place because the EFF wanted to see other races living in the town. 'We believe that segregation is what destroyed our country ... what we raised with the community of Orania and its leadership is something that we must stand against and defend the interest and sovereignty of this country,' said Tlhaole. The party called on the government to review Orania's existence and for the dismantling of the town which was 'brewing' racism, segregation and trampling on principles. TimesLIVE
