The Governor paid condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. The Governor spoke to the Labour, Employment Training and Factories (LETF) Principal Secretary Kishore, and directed him to extend all possible assistance and the best of medical help to the victims. Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu on Monday expressed grief over the fire accident at the Sigachi Pharma chemical factory. 'Deeply saddened by the tragic fire accident at a factory in Sangareddy, Telangana, which claimed several lives. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured,' Murmu said in a post on X. Initially, it was said that a reactor blast had occurred in the factory. We have just visited the site, and we now know that it was not a reactor blast,' he said. 'The factory incharge also lost his life in the accident. There is no one here who can tell what exactly happened out of the 63 people who reported here in the morning. We have learned that eight people have died. Right now, four more bodies have been recovered. Twelve people are critical with burn injuries. The remaining 22 people have 20-25% burns and are receiving treatment. We will get more clarity in the next one or two hours,' he added. The explosion, which took place at Pashamylaram industrial area, about 50 km from Hyderabad, caused significant structural damage. We are extending all possible support to the affected.' According to the company's website, Sigachi Industries is engaged in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), excipients, mineral blends, and other pharma-related services. Cause not yet confirmed; forensic probe underway The precise cause of the blast is yet to be determined. 'Industrial experts suspect pressure build-up during drying or handling of materials caused the explosion, which destroyed both the unit and parts of the industrial building,' Reddy told PTI. Officials said more clarity is expected after a technical and forensic evaluation. In the meantime, the government has promised interim financial aid for the victims and their families.

Sigachi Industries share price slumped 12% on Monday after reports of a blast at its plant in Telangana. Sigachi Industries shares declined as much as 12.3% to ₹ 48.39 apiece on the BSE. A reactor blast took place at Sigachi Pharma Company, Pasamailaram Phase 1, Medak, news agency ANI reported. Eleven fire tenders have reached the site, and nearly 15-20 people were injured, the report added, quoting Telangana fire officials. At 12:00 PM, Sigachi Industries share price was trading 11.27% lower at ₹ 48.96 apiece on the BSE.
