The sisters arrived later in the evening, matching as a family in shades of black and gray. This was the latest Met Gala for the Kardashian-Jenner clan. They previously stepped out at the 2024 event, which had a dress code of "The Garden of Time" and a theme of "Sleeping Beauties." She donned a custom black two-piece leather outfit from Hollywood's own Chrome Hearts, effectively bringing her hometown of Los Angeles to the Big Apple. The leather appeared to have a crocodile-like texture. The bustier-style top complemented a floor-length skirt that featured a short train and was low-cut in the back. Because more is more, she styled it with a massive statement silver necklace and matching wide-brimmed leather hat. Her jewelry was from Moussaieff. Kardashian is very familiar with sacrificing comfort for a fashion statement. In an episode of "The Kardashians" that aired earlier this year, Kardashian recalled how she struggled to breathe in the tight dress she wore to the 2024 Met Gala. "I'm literally going to throw up," she said in footage from the evening. "I've never been more comfortable." Her mother, Kris Jenner, joked on the episode that she asked Kardashian, "Are you ever going to wear a dress to the Met where you actually can walk?" But Kardashian remarked in an interview on the show, "If you look good, it is all worth it." The Kardashians have attended the Met Gala many times, with Kim Kardashian having made her debut in 2013, when she was pregnant with daughter North West. In 2022, Kardashian famously wore a dress once worn by Marilyn Monroe to the event, where she was joined by her then-boyfriend Pete Davidson. The following year, she wore a custom Schiaparelli ensemble for the 2023 Met Gala, whose theme honored late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Kendall Jenner honors Harlem Renaissance musician Gladys Bentley Kendall Jenner sought out fresh blood for her 2025 outfit. So she turned to up-and-coming British designer Torishéju Dumi, who pulled together a look inspired by Harlem Renaissance musician Gladys Bentley, per British Vogue. The severe-looking dark gray structured blazer featured a peplum flare-out at the bottom and a plunging neckline that was accented by a silver statement necklace, similar to sister Kim. While loose, the skirt accentuated the runway model's physique and had a modest train. Bentley, as described by Smithsonian Magazine in 2019, "was ahead of her time for proudly loving other women, wearing men's clothing and singing bawdy songs." She was known for appearing in a three-piece suit and a top hat. "I had a vision of being very minimal and tailored for this Met, and I went on the hunt to find something interesting and fresh and super exciting to me. Finding a new, young designer was the vision," Kendall told British Vogue. The look involved 100 feet of deadstock fabric — "It's all about using what you have," Dumi told British Vogue — and 242 hours of work. Dumi explained, "The drama isn't really in the color. It's more in the cut and the silhouette." Kylie Jenner 'stole' the show at 2025 Met Gala Like older sister Kim, Kylie also opted for a form-fitting bodice. She arrived on the blue carpet in a dramatic black-and-gray piece from Ferragamo, accompanied by designer Maximilian Davis. The torso portion was sheer black and matched Kylie's opera gloves. Anok Yai's 2025 Met Gala Look by Thom Browne Is One of the Smartest Responses to the Theme
Anok Yai is something of a Met Gala titan. Since her first appearance at fashion's biggest night out back in 2019, when she took to the red carpet in a scantily feathered Burberry shift dress, the supermodel has forged a reputation as a perennial winner, delivering some truly memorable high fashion moments. Responding to the 2024 Met exhibition theme, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, and the gala dress code, 'The Garden of Time,' she embodied the water that any garden needs to come into bloom, sporting a nude illusion bodysuit spangled with over 98,000 Swarovski crystals in hues that moved in an ombré sweep of silver to deep oceanic blue. This year, the model's look was no less on point, with Yai turning to Thom Browne to deliver a dress that cleverly adhered to this year's dress code 'Tailored For You'–while serving a welcome dose of resplendent, Old Hollywood glamour. The sleeveless gown's top half comprised a figure-skimming, collared black brocade bodice, with two trompe l'oeil jacket sleeves insouciantly slung over the hip and knotted. The lower section featured a fanning hem in stiff and immaculately white fabric, resulting in a canny visual pun that translated the visual register of suiting onto a classic ballgown (and required a fleet of attendants to carry it onto the carpet unscathed).

Dua Lipa's Chanel Look for the 2025 Met Gala Is Adorned With Feathers, Crystals… And Callum Turner
Dua Lipa has delivered some memorable Met Gala moments over the years: there was the purple psychedelic dress by Atelier Versace that she wore to the 2019 Camp-themed edition; the archival Chanel haute couture gown from autumn/winter 1992, originally worn by Claudia Schiffer down the runway, which she chose to honor Karl Lagerfeld in 2023; and the boudoir-inspired Marc Jacobs number that she sported for the Sleeping Beauties theme in 2024. In keeping with the 'Tailored for You' dress code, Lipa wore a custom open-back chiffon dress with a long bow at the back, a black sequin tweed jacket and an organza cape–all adorned with crystals, pearls and feathers to add to the sense of drama. In total, the complete look took 2,000 hours to make and features 45,000 embroidered elements, highlighting the remarkable level of craftsmanship on display. Of course, Lipa's relationship with the French fashion house goes way back: the star previously revealed how she splurged on the Chanel Boy bag after she got her first pay check from her record label more than a decade ago in 2014. Since then, she's worn Chanel on countless occasions–including during her Radical Optimism tour, where she wore a bodysuit version of the chained dress originally seen on Christy Turlington on the maison's spring/summer 1992 catwalk (Lily-Rose Depp later went on to wear the gown at the 2019 Met Gala)–and was announced as a face of the Chanel 25 bag earlier this year. Lipa hasn't been exclusively wearing Chanel for Met Gala weekend, though, with the star also photographed in US brands Willy Chavarria and Calvin Klein while in the Big Apple.
