While their name may not often echo through the halls of the mainstream, Ramayan has long stood as a cornerstone of Malaysia's alternative music scene. Over a decade since their formation, the neo-psychedelic band now presents their most honest and experimental work to date, a studio album titled 'Ini Adalah Ujian Transmisi'. A bold collaboration between two prominent forces in the Malaysian music industry — Luncai Emas and Sony Music Malaysia — this album marks a powerful shift in Ramayan's creative journey. It is a declaration: a signal has been sent, carrying with it sounds that are bolder, brighter, and built to move both body and soul. Today, Pi'e, Que, Omar, and newest member Izzat carry the torch — preserving the band's signature spirit while evolving its sound. #SHOWBIZ: Wany Hasrita: 'I'm praying hard to finally live together with my husband'
KUALA LUMPUR: After nearly four years of a long-distance marriage, singer Wany Hasrita admits she is still adjusting to the situation, though she is learning to accept it. The 32-year-old singer, whose full name is Nurshazwany Hasrita Hasbullah, acknowledges the challenges of being separated from her husband. She says she is doing her best to navigate the circumstances and trusts in God's plan. "Long-distance relationships are undeniably difficult. I won't deny that it affects me," Wany said. "But I'm gradually getting used to it. Ultimately, it's God's will, and we must prioritise our responsibilities and sacrifices." Wany travels with their two-year-old daughter, Aishah, to visit her husband, Mohd Al-Adib Fahmi Harun, a pilot based in Sarawak, whenever her schedule allows. "When we're together, we focus on activities we can all enjoy as a family. "These are often simple pleasures, like sightseeing or playing together in the spacious yard," she said. While adapting to this arrangement, Wany continues to hope and pray that they will one day live together under one roof as a typical family. "We need a plan to make that happen, and I always pray that God will pave the way for us to achieve that dream," says Wany, who married Mohd Al-Adib on July 22, 2022. Wany Hasrita also recently released a new single, 'Jahat.' Produced by Sony Music Malaysia, the song is her first collaboration with Indonesian composers Audree Dewangga, David Elsandro, Andre Lizt, and Trakast. It seems Malaysian pop sweetheart Wany Hasrita's career in on the way up and up. Wany, returns with a brand-new single titled 'Jahat', a soul-stirring ballad that also serves as the official original soundtrack (OST) for the highly emotional 15-episode drama 'Pabila Dia Tersenyum', produced by Global Station Sdn Bhd, premiering exclusively on streaming platform Viu since April 24. The single is released under the renowned and top label Sony Music Malaysia. For Wany, 'Jahat' marks a personal and artistic milestone, a song that allows her to explore a deeper, more vulnerable side of herself as a singer. The emotionally charged track adds a new dimension to her career, highlighting her growth, maturity, and depth of interpretation through singing. This single also marks Wany's first-ever collaboration with a team of renowned Indonesian composers such as Audree Dewangga, David Elsandro, Andre Lizt, and Trakast, as they bring together a unique blend of melancholic melody and emotional rendition to the final piece. "It was an honour to work with top music composers in Indonesia. The recording process took approximately three hours in Jakarta, and despite the quick recording session, Wany poured her heart and soul into every line, ensuring that the emotion behind the lyrics truly came through.
