'It has been blessful and an amazing journey, ' says the ever-elegant Misha Omar as she celebrates her new single and concert

Celebrating her 23rd year in the music business, Misha Omar, dubbed as Malaysia's 'divine voice' says she is enjoying every minute of her long career and is once again topping the charts with her soulful new single "Break". After winning hearts in the region for more than two decades and at the age of 44, the ever-elegant Misha is hardly thinking of slowing down. Misha is back in the limelight as she continues to melt the hearts of music fans in South-East Asia with the soulful "Break", her new single, which is also the main soundtrack for Astro's "Mandul Bukan Pilihan" hit tv series. The song is brought to fans by Malaysia's top record producer, Sony Music Malaysia, and was officially launched to the masses on June 20. During a special listening party in KL on Thursday (July 31), Misha said she is just thankful that she has lasted this long and her journey to where she is now has been filled with tough but, yet many memorable moments. "You know, my life is a journey. An amazing journey. But all this time, I have been blessed with so many good things - family, friends, well-wishers, and most importantly, wonderful, wonderful fans. It has been a great joyride," said Misha after the listening party for her new single, 'Break'. 'Touching on the production of Break, as a singer, I have had the best cooperation with my vocal teacher, Datuk Syafinaz Selamat. 'As a singer, before starting a new project, I take vocal classes and 'dissect' the lyrics so that the appreciation and the whole feeling about Break can be conveyed well. Hopefully, Break can touch the soul and leave an impression on the hearts of fans,' said Misha. The stirring and emotional new single also marks her first-ever collaboration with Indonesian music legend Melly Goeslaw. With over two decades of musical excellence under her belt, the three-time Anugerah Juara Lagu Best Vocalist breathes life into "Break", a beautifully crafted composition by Melly Goeslaw, with musical arrangement by celebrated producer Tohpati. Though the title "Break" may suggest a pause, for Misha Omar, it symbolises the opposite — a bold reaffirmation of her commitment to creating timeless, quality music that resonates deeply with her audience. 'I've always dreamed of performing a song written by Melly,' Misha shares. 'So I leaped and messaged her directly on social media. To my delight, she responded - and "Break" was born, written specifically for me. "This collaboration is incredibly special and came at exactly the right moment in my journey.' . There was even a special surprise for Misha at the listening party on Thursday. Indonesian diva Melly made the trip to join Misha on stage during the listening party. "I'm just so touched today. For a superstar like Melly to join me on stage and make a trip just for the show. This has to be one of the greatest moments of my career," said Misha. "What a fantastic surprise. I thank Sony for this thoughtful move. This is a present I will not forget for a lifetime." Speaking about the production of "Break", Misha said she had approached Melly on social media via Direct Message (DM): "This project started when I just told myself to go ahead and approach Melly on DM. Melly was happy to do it and then "Break" was born. This is one song that will be in my heart forever. 'I've always dreamed of performing a song written by Melly. This collaboration is incredibly special and came at exactly the right moment in my journey.' As for Melly, she said she has been a big fan of Misha's work for many, many years. "I have been following her for such a long time. She simply has an amazing voice. I have always been in awe of Misha's song," said Melly. "So when she approached me for a collaboration, I just could not say no. It has been an honour to work with Misha. And I believe no one could have sung this song better than Misha," said Melly at the listening party. The listening party was also made much more special when both divas were on the stage at the same time, singing to the tune of the new single, much to the delight of the listeners who attended the event. "Break" is available for streaming and download since June 20 on all major platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music. It has an aptly named teaser for the new song -- Don't take a break — tune in to "Break" . On another note, Misha will also be staging her mega solo concert at the Mega Star Arena on November 29. This year's concert is brought to fans by music and art house producers Double M Production, together with Altus Prohouse as the managers for the "DiA Misha Omar" concert. Tickets have been on sale since July 25 at 10am. Tickets are priced at RM288 (SILVER), RM388 (GOLD), RM488 (PLATINUM), RM588 (DIAMOND), RM688 (VIP 2), RM1,200 (VIP 1), RM1,200 (2 PAX; ROYAL TWIN SEAT). Tickets can be purchased at

It's Wani Kayrie - the singer with a golden heart and also the new rocking star in Malaysian music

Here comes Wani Kayrie, the singer with a golden voice and, at the same time, a young girl with a golden heart too. After five years in the music scene, her career is flying these days and she has come with a new EP "W2K" that will also include her new searing ballad "Biarkan". The album includes six songs in total, including her top hit "Cak Cak Cekuk" and also the lively single 'Aiman Tino". But despite her current success, Wani has also proved to be a young girl who is always ready to help the young ones. She is also currently playing a mentor/teacher/educator role for many youngsters. Whenever she is free from her gruelling music schedules, she spends time with several youngsters and gives them coaching and singing lessons. Known for her powerful she now spends some time coaching these youngsters to improve their vocal chords. In fact, during the launch of her new album in KL, some of her "students" -- among them, 11-year-old Mickalen Wong and college student Belle Lwin, also turned up in support of their 'mentor'. "It is just something I love to do. I met some of them because we love music and it is just wonderful that I have a chance to help them," said the 25-year-old Wani. "It is not something that needs to be shouted about. I'm just happy I can give them a lending hand." It is just a show that the talented Wani is just as charismatic when she is not singing and it gets better when she is just as happy helping youngsters as well as breaking the charts with her hits. Also on Friday, Wani marks another milestone in her music career today with the launch of her debut EP titled 'W2K', officially announced during the 'Wani Kayrie Listening Party', held at MyTOWNKL in collaboration with the ASR Festival by Ascott. Led by local entertainment label Rocketfuel Entertainment, the special event also served as the official launch of Wani's latest single titled 'Biarkan', a soul-stirring ballad that reflects Wani Kayrie's musical maturity and her evolution as an artist, now embracing a refreshed sound and identity. 'This EP Is For Everyone Has Been Waiting For ' After years of journeying through the music industry, Wani finally brings her dream to life with her first EP, a result of unwavering support from those who never stopped believing. 'Finally, after all this time, I'm able to gift this mini album to everyone who's been waiting. This is one of the most meaningful moments for me. I feel touched, excited, and extremely grateful – especially because the request for this album came from fans, family, and friends who believe in my talent,' said a grateful Wani . As for the EP title, Wani explained: 'I was born in the year 2000, so the name W2K is symbolic not only of my birth year, but also represents a new side of me as a singer. The songs in this EP are all different, each with a unique vibe, showcasing the diversity in my music ." She further added that the W2K concept aligns with current youth trends embracing the 'Y2K' lifestyle aesthetic – from fashion and music to self-expression: 'I want this EP to be relevant, trendy, and connected to the soul of my generation.' W2K comprises five tracks " Cak Cak Cekuk , Serius Ah , Aiman Tino , Matahari , Biarkan " together with a cover version of a popular tune. Each original track was produced with top local composers and lyricists, including Iqie Hugh, Hanis Rafi, Omar K, Shazriq Azeman, MFMF, Ezra Kong, Shane Kennedy and Karim Karam and more. As for her favourite tune in the EP, Wani said: 'I love "Cak Cak Cekuk" because I enjoy songs that uplift and celebrate culture. In life, we can't escape challenges, so a song like this helps us feel positive, confident and entertained.' Alongside the EP, a heartfelt ballad 'Biarkan" about a love that never came to be is also released. 'This song is about letting go of something that's no longer good for us, even if we still care. Sometimes, 'letting it be' is the best way to heal,' Wani expressed, admitting that the recording process came with its challenges. 'I had to record the song on different days, but I had to maintain the same emotions throughout. It was tough, but worth it because I'm really happy with the result.' Looking back at her career beginnings about a decade ago with the track 'Jangan Jangan', Wani views W2K as a crucial turning point marking her growth as an artist. 'For me, W2K is a very important transition. It introduces a fresher concept, style, and musical direction – for my long-time fans and also new listeners who are just discovering Wani Kayrie.' Early reactions from fans towards the EP's songs have been overwhelmingly positive. " I read that many fans are excited because each song has its own identity. I hope W2K becomes part of their daily playlist!' Wani also shared a heartfelt message to her fans and fellow dreamers: 'I hope W2K is more than just entertainment – I want it to be an inspiration. If I can achieve my dreams, so can you. Don't be afraid to carve out your own space in life. Believe and keep going ." Available on All Digital Platforms W2K and the single 'Biarkan' under Rocketfuel Entertainment will be available on all major digital streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and more starting on Friday (July 25, 2025) For more information and updates, follow Wani Kayrie and Rocketfuel Entertainment on their official social media pages.
