Wendy's and Takis partner for a limited-time deal

Meet this summer's fiercest duo: Wendy's iconic Spicy Chicken Sandwich and fan-favorite snack brand Takis join forces to create the limited-time Takis Fuego Meal, which features the Takis Fuego Chicken Sandwich and Takis-inspired Fuego Fries. Wendy's fans can get their hands on the collaboration in U.S. restaurants on June 20, and in Canada restaurants starting June 30. Wendy's is giving fans a whole new take on Takis, combining Wendy's perfectly seasoned Spicy Chicken filet topped with crushed Takis Fuego chips, Chili Lime Sauce, creamy corn spread and a cheddar cheese sauce to create a one-of-a-kind sandwich that is equal parts spicy, crunchy and savory. The Takis takeover doesn't stop there! Fans can shake up their meal with Wendy's new Fuego Fries, inspired by Takis, taking Wendy's classic Hot & Crispy Fries and tossing them in a tangy chili lime seasoning served in a custom-made tear away bag to allow easier access to the fries, perfect for sharing... or not. Available as the Takis Fuego Meal or a la carte, heat seekers can add even more Takis punch to their meal with a bag of Takis Fuego chips that are only available in the Takis Fuego Meal while supplies last. 'At Wendy's, we know how to keep things spicy, and we love serving up fresh, famous collaborations that tap into consumers passion points, which made this partnership with Takis a no brainer,' said Lindsay Radkoski, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer for The Wendy's Company. Additionally, from June 20 to July 20, fans can turn up the temperature with Wendy's in-app game, Spice Invasion, available to U.S. app users. In the retro arcade-style game, players navigate treacherous terrain, blasting Wendy's menu items with Takis chips to earn points, win prizes and be entered to win the grand prize of $10,000. 'We are beyond excited to join forces with Wendy's, a powerhouse brand that shares our passion for Intensity and Flavor.' said Sandra Kirkpatrick, U.S. Sr. Director of Marketing at Barcel USA. 'Takis fans are known for turning up the flavor—and now, we're taking it to the next level with Wendy's. We've seen how our fans love adding Takis chips to everything, and together, we're delivering a spicy, unforgettable experience that's made for heat seekers. Get ready to taste the thrill!" 13 best food places in Westgate to eat from when visiting Jurong

It seems only yesterday that Westgate opened its doors in Jurong East as a new food, family and lifestyle hub. What can't you find here? Westgate has it all – a massive garden-themed playground, electronics stores, an arcade, a supermarket, clothes stores and, of course, a whole lot of eateries. If you come around in the evenings, you can also catch live performers singing their hearts out and contributing to the jolliness. It's even directly linked to the MRT station for added convenience. With its open-air design and lush greenery, the mall exudes an air of comfort and familiarity. This is especially so for me, as I have frequented this mall since I was a child. So, here are my 13 food place recommendations for whoever's interested in visiting this vibrant mall. Fans of 'Chinese burgers' or roujiamo, keep a lookout for Bingz in Basement 1. Founded in Beijing, Bingz is a popular Chinese eatery brand with outlets in Canada, and China and 5 branches in Singapore. Westgate was its first Singapore outlet when the flagship store opened back in 2023. What can you get here? For starters, you could go for The Signature Pork (S$5.59), Spicy Chicken (S$5.59) or Butter Chicken (S$5.99) from the Crispy section. They're just like the name – deliciously meaty and crispy buns. Chinese burgers aren't all that Bingz serves. Get your chopsticks ready to try its noodle dishes – the Sizzling Chilli Noodles (S$6.99, S$8.99 with pork), Hot & Sour Glass Noodles (S$6.69) and Cold Noodles () (S$6.59 sesame, S$5.99 chilli oil). +65 6530 3466 Daily: 10am – 10pm | Order Delivery: foodpanda Famous Osaka ramen brand Next Shikaku's first and only Singapore outlet resides in Westgate. This atas restaurant is small and dimly lit but promises big and bold flavours. Its speciality is its oyster broth and high-quality handmade noodles. The signature is made using luxurious slow-cooked oyster broth, giving the ramen a unique umami flavour. The larger outlet of the 2 in Westgate houses not just a grocery store but also several Chinese food stalls, including Sichuan Braised Delights. My go-to here is the Volcanic Stone Roasted Sausages (direct translation), which are cooked on literal hot stones. One costs S$3, but you can get a S$1 discount by buying 2 sausages for S$5. Remember to ask for chilli powder if you like spice to go with the meatiness. That's not all. This stall serves a unique variety of Chinese snacks like marinated chicken feet, roasted meats and seasoned vegetable dishes. You can even watch the staff cooking (Chinese-style egg wraps) (from S$5.50) through the glass while you wait for your order. Daily: 9am – 11pm | | Since I was a child, I've visited Nunsaram's headquarters outlet whenever my family and I felt an urge to eat something cold and sweet. There's a decent range of bingsu (Korean shaved ice) flavours to choose from here, as well as savoury Korean dishes like (seaweed rice wrap) (S$10.90 for Original) and rice cakes (S$8.90 for Original). I highly recommend the (S$12.90 for Regular, S$15.90 for Large). It's a sweet mountain of shaved milk ice topped with kinako (roasted soybean powder) and injeolmi (Korean rice cake) bits and served with a small bowl of condensed milk for drizzling. Another option is Green Tea (S$13.90 for Regular, S$16.90 for Large), which comes with almonds, azuki red bean paste and matcha ice cream. Did you know? Nunsaram means 'snowman', which explains the adorable mascot at the entrance. +65 6565 4787 Daily: 11.30am – 10pm | Order Delivery: foodpanda Deliveroo Rice wine bubble teas aren't a common sight, but guess what? Tastea in Scarlett Supermarket understood the assignment – it serves rice wine drinks alongside the usual suspects like bubble milk tea and fruit tea. The alcohol levels of the Osmanthus Rice Wine Milk Tea (S$5.90) and Strawberry Peach Gum Rice Wine Tea (S$6.50) are fairly low, so don't worry about getting drunk from just a cup. They do however make for refreshing beverages with their fermented rice sweetness and chewy konjac pearls. Besides the drinks, you can also dig into desserts like the Yam Sets (S$3.90) or their mochi treats. The Mix with Cheese Cream (S$12.90) comes with 4 flavours of coated mochi, biscuit crumbles and sea salt cheese cream for dipping. I got a Mango for S$3.90 which, while slightly watery, still tasted sweet and fresh. +65 9732 7993 Daily: 10.30am – 9.30pm | Order Delivery: Deliveroo Just S$19.90+ for an all-you-can-eat Hong Kong-style hotpot at Paradise Hotpot? This popular French-Japanese restaurant in Westgate serves mainly fusion sweets and pasta inspired by the flavours and dishes of both cultures. According to my peers, the Dark Chocolate Souffle (S$13.80) and (S$8.80) are to die for. They're rich and sweet, especially the Creme Brulee which consists of a creamy vanilla custard under a delicate caramelised sugar shell. The signature main dish is the Miam Miam Spaghetti (S$17.20), served with sauteed frankfurters (German sausage), tomatoes, spinach and bacon, tossed with French butter and shoyu. Miam Miam also offers a vegetarian version, which costs S$15.90. Another popular choice is the CreamyWith Squid Ink Pasta (S$27.90), with its eye-catching black pasta and grilled squid. +65 6254 1434 Mon to Thu: 11.30am – 9pm Fri: 11.30am – 9.30pm Sat & Sun: 11am – 9.30pm | | Order Delivery: foodpanda Deliveroo 12 best stalls at Taman Jurong Market & Food Centre to makan before/after you jalan Fluffy pancakes, anyone? This dish is a unique and original twist on ayam penyet, a local dish of tender smashed fried chicken leg. The duck is marinated for 24 hours to let the rich flavours of the spices sink into the meat. It's no surprise as such that the Original + (Original Crispy Fried Duck + Rice) (S$11.90) is one of the highly rated dishes. It's served with tempeh (fermented soybean), tofu, side salad and the restaurant's signature chilli. Those not into duck can opt for the Original + (S$9.90) to enjoy the dish with fried chicken instead. Tea bases consist of fragrant Red Robe, Jasmine, Wuyi and Peach , from which you can select one for your drink. I can't say I've compared the two, but Zus Coffee does whip up some pretty good drinks. The Malaysian coffee chain opened its second Singapore outlet at Westgate in Feb 2025, with the first and third located at Changi Airport and Sentosa respectively. Usually, customers go for the Zus Signatures, such as the CEO Latte (S$4.90), Spanish Latte (S$5.90) and Coconut Latte (S$4.90). More adventurous options include Zus (S$5.50) and the Watermelon Latte (S$5.50) which, by the way, tastes exactly like its name. If you're a kopi or teh gao lover like me, the Latte series is worth considering. The Dark Oolong Latte (S$5.90) in particular is quite strong – the robust tea fragrance goes well with the coffee but overpowers it a little. This curry is encased in milk bread, which is then covered with breadcrumbs and deep-fried for a crispy hot exterior.
