Superman's runtime is just over 2 hours long, but director James Gunn denies rumors that the studio stopped it from being longer: "Zero truth to that"
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Superman director James Gunn has taken to social media to confirm the DC movie's runtime, but moved just as quickly to deny any suggestions of studio interference in the final cut. Recent cinema listings had Superman down at 129 minutes, with Gunn replying to a fan on Threads to say that was correct "inclusive of credits/post credits." When a commenter replied, "Any truth that [Warner Bros] forced you to make it shorter?", Gunn wrote: "Zero truth to that. And they couldn't even if that's something that they wanted to. It's a DC Studios film." Starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel alongside Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor, Superman marks the first live-action project of DC Studios' nascent DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Other confirmed projects for the first wave of DC's new universe include the Aaron Pierre-starring Lanterns, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a Clayface movie, and a new Batman project separate from Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves' own Bat-Verse. Peacemaker season 2, meanwhile, follows immediately on from Superman's story this August, with a recent trailer hinting at some multiversal shenanigans – and could clue us in on how the DCU connects to the old DCEU. According to Gunn, there's even a "really, really, really big cameo" for fans to look forward to. Superman joins a packed schedule in July, which includes Jurassic World Rebirth and a duel with Marvel as Fantastic Four takes its First Steps into the MCU. For more, check out the movie release dates to look forward to in 2025. Then catch up on the story so far with a look at how to watch the DC movies in order.

Street Fighter Cast: Jason Momoa, Former WWE Champ Eyed for Live-Action Movie
The live-action Street Fighter movie is rounding out its cast. Kitao Sakurai is working on a live-action Street Fighter movie, based on the popular Capcom video games, for Legendary Entertainment. It was previously reported last month that Snake Eyes' Andrew Koji and The Recruit's Noah Centineo were being eyed to play Ryu and Ken in the film. According to Deadline, Jason Momoa and Roman Reigns are also being eyed to star in the film. Jeff Sneider of The InSneider reports that Reigns will play Akuma, while it's not yet clear who Momoa is in talks to star as. Momoa is known for playing Aquaman in the DCEU and for starring as Khal Drogo in the first two seasons of HBO's Game of Thrones. He recently portrayed Garrett 'The Garbage Man' Garrison in A Minecraft Movie and will soon be seen as Lobo in 2026's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Additionally, Momoa plays Duncan Idaho in the Dune franchise and appeared as Dante Reyes in 2023's Fast X, among other roles. Roman Reigns, meanwhile, is a former football player and WWE champion. He's appeared in 2019's Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and 2020's The Wrong Missy, while he also voiced a character in the 2021 animated Rumble film. Plot details for the live-action Street Fighter movie remain under wraps at this time. Talk to Me and Bring Her Back's Danny and Michael Philippou were previously attached to direct the film prior to Sakurai's involvement. Sakurai is best known for directing 2021's Bad Trip with Eric André and Lil Rel Howery. He also directed episodes of Peacock's Twisted Metal show with Anthony Mackie, which is returning for its second season this coming July. A release date for the live-action Street Fighter movie, which is being co-developed and co-produced with Capcom, has not yet been announced by Legendary.
