LAHAD DATU: Five men, including three civil servants, were arrested during a police raid at a house in Taman Harapan, Jalan Silam, on Monday. Lahad Datu police seized a small quantity of Syabu, over 220 litres of Ketum drink, cough syrup, and several bladed weapons during the operation. District police chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the suspects, aged between 24 and 38, were remanded for investigation, with one testing positive for drugs. The confiscated items, including a samurai sword and six machetes, were estimated to be worth RM11,655.40. PENAMPANG: Police arrested a 40-year-old local man and confiscated 70.32 grams of suspected methamphetamine (Syabu) worth RM10,500 in a drug bust here, Saturday. Police conducted the raid at around 4.30pm and found seven transparent plastic packets containing crystalline substances believed to be Syabu. The suspect tested positive for methamphetamine/amphetamine in a urine test. Penampang District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton warned the public against drug involvement and urged cooperation in reporting illegal activities. 'Substance abuse and trafficking are serious crimes. LAHAD DATU: Police arrested two Indonesians in separate operations for possessing drugs on Wednesday. District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said, the suspects were detained following the Op Tapis conducted by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division (BSJND) of Lahad Datu Police Headquarters. Advertisement He said, the first suspect, a 23-year-old Indonesian was detained at the Reno Fajar area about 11am. 'Inspection on the suspect found a translucent plastic containing substance believed to be Syabu weighing 0.34 grams and an aluminium foil. 'The suspect was also tested positive for taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine,' he said. According to Dzulbaharin, about 4.30pm on the same day, the BSJND team arrested a 21-year-old Indonesian at Kampung Puyut. He said the suspect was detained after the team found a translucent plastic containing substance believed to be Syabu weighing 0.18 grams and an aluminum foil in his possession. The suspect was tested negative for taking drugs. LAHAD DATU: Four men were detained in several operations at Lahad Datu town for possessing and abusing drugs. District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said those men aged between 32 and 45 were detained following the Op Tapis conducted by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division of Lahad Datu Police Headquarters. Jimmy said the first arrest involving a 45-year-old man was made at about 10.40am near Jalan Pantai. He said the result of inspection conducted on the man found a translucent packet containing 0.14 grams of substances believed to be Syabu. 'The suspect was also tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. The case would be investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act (DDA) 1952,' he said. According to Jimmy, about 3.45pm, two men aged 32 and 34 were detained while wandering in suspicious behaviors at Kampung Puyut. He said following inspection on both men found one of them possessing two translucent packets containing substances believed to be Syabu weighing 0.28 grams and two aluminium foils. Urine tests conducted on both of them found one of the suspects positive of taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. Investigation of this case was conducted under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of DDA 1952. 'About 4.30pm, the team arrested a 40-year-old man who was in suspicious behavior at the roadside of Jalan Kastam Baru. 'Result of inspection on the suspect found a cigarette box containing 27 translucent plastic packets filled with substances believed to be Syabu weighing 5.51 grams,' said Jimmy. He said urine tests conducted on the suspect found he was positive of taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. The suspect also had two previous records related to drug cases.
