McQueen has dropped a demure Ramadan collection
McQueen has unveiled an exclusive collection to celebrate Ramadan. The six-piece ready-to-wear capsule combines McQueen's signature motifs with a modest silhouette. The collection is available at Harrods in London, and McQueen boutiques in Harvey Nichols and Bloomingdale's in Dubai. McQueen's Ramadan collection draws inspiration from nature. It boasts blush floral-printed daywear and fluid and refined crepe de chine separates, including a wide-leg pyjama trouser, an oversized shirt, a draped skirt, and a midi shirt dress with bib detailing. Two evening dresses are available. The blush crepe de chine tunic comes with a twisted draped neckline, and the delicate chiffon cape dress includes an intricately embellished neck with crystals. Accessories are also available. The T-Bar bag, T-Bar clutch and Birdee ruched mules are in vivid fuchsia python, and the T-Bar bag, T-Bar clutch and T-Bar sandal are in black suede with light-refracting gold crystal embellishment. The McQueen label is a British luxury fashion house. Created by the designer Alexander McQueen, he was born in Lewisham, London. He trained as an apprentice on Savile Row, and studied at Central Saint Martins. He hit the headlines for its controversial collections. His graduate collection caught the attention of the fashion editor, Isabella Blow. Over the years, his collections were synonymous with individuality and strength, and the runway shows were theatrical spectacles. He went from being worn by models to royalty. Sarah Burton, the former Creative Director of Alexander McQueen, designed the wedding dress for the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. EXCLUSIVE: Alexander McQueen, Sean McGirr Travel to a Welsh Castle for Spring 2025 Campaign
LONDON — Alexander McQueen's creative director Sean McGirr has taken his sophomore campaign for spring 2025 far, far away from London and settled on Llansteffan Castle in Carmarthenshire, Wales. In the images and short film shot by Glen Luchford and styled by Sarah Richardson, models are seen frolicking around the castle, deserted land and shore of the Welsh wilderness in a pensive mood. She embodies a sense of strident self-expression that resonates now; something freeing that drives connection with others,' McGirr said. The models are captured in sharp tailoring; magpie embroideries; shredded silk organza; cobweb lace, and a dress made of tangles of silver chains that Angelina Jolie wore to the Golden Globes in 2025. The campaign also pushes the Kering-owned brand's accessories line with a focus on the T-Bar range, which includes belts, sandals and bags in different styles — the prominent bag in the campaign imagery is the T-Bar Sling Pouch in a baby blue. The spring 2025 collection used McQueen's fall 1994 'Banshee' collection as a touchstone with uses of bumster pants, love of Savile Row, wild nature and London underworld characters, but in a modernized aesthetic. The designer also incorporated his own taste of London: Jermyn Street shirtmakers and military tailors, Victoriana, Etonian school uniforms, communion dresses and East End kids 'trying to be posh but failing,' he told WWD in September last year. McGirr's McQueen so far has been all about characters with a youthful, punk attitude. His debut campaign that was released in July last year featured a model sitting on a white horse, while another sat in a PVC dress inside a home decorated with patterned carpeting and floral wallpaper from the mid-20th century.
