WWE NXT Results, 4th Aug 2025: Sol Ruca Defends Crown Againts Paxley, Hank And Tank Retain Tag Team Title
Last Updated: The latest episode witnessed the defence of the Tag Team Championship by Hank and Tank, while Sol Ruca also retained her North American Championship against Tatum Paxley. The latest instalment of the WWE NXT which was held at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, offered up a couple of title defences as the Tag Team Champions and the Women's North American champion held on to their respective titles in thrilling encounters, while Nia Jax was at the centre of the show in more ways than one. Kelani Jordan vs. Blake Monroe The night opened with the bout between Jordan and Monroe in what was a fascinating affair up until the moment it ended in favour of Jordan, who won by count-out as Monroe overstayed her time outside the ring before bolting away out of vicinity even while Jordynne Grace looked to assault her. Tag Team Championships: Hank and Tank vs. Chase U Hank and Tank, the NXT Tag Team Title holders were made to work by Uriah Connors and Kale Dixon, but a strong and quick bout ended with the defending champions retaining their crown by pinfall as the duo hit their signature on Dixon to finish the challenge. Another match between women was staged as the bout between Jax and Hail was billed as a David vs Goliath encounter. The only difference being that the underdog did not end up on top, as Jax took the win by pinfall without breaking a sweat. Myles Borne vs. Lexis King A typical NXT fixture with all the makings of a topsy-turvy affair ended in favour of Bourne, who hit his finisher just in time to close out the proceedings. North American Championship: Sol Ruca vs. Tatum Paxley Ruca put her Championship title on the line and came out on top against Paxley as the brawl between Jax and Legend served as an opportunity for the holder to capitalise, and she did just that to hold on to her crown. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. WWE SummerSlam 2025 Night 1 Quick Highlights: List of All Winners, Top Performers, and More
SummerSlam Night 1 (Image via WWE) Night 1 of WWE SummerSlam 2025, held at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey saw an electric crowd. For the first time in the history of the event, SummerSlam is a two-night show, and Night 1 saw an audience of 53,161 inside the arena. There were six matches set for the night, and each one had the fans cheering for their favorites. From chants of The OTC to boos for Logan Paul and of course, the main event of the night - CM Punk vs. GUNTHER that everyone was waiting for, the first night of the 38th edition of SummerSlam was a resounding success. With Cardi B hosting the big event, it started off with a bang. And now let's take a look at all the winners and top performers of the night. Roman Reigns and Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed The opening match of the night was a tag team match between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso , who faced off against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. All hell broke loose from the very beginning, as the four opponents were at each other's throats as soon as the bell rang. Reigns missed a chunk of the action at the beginning, before he finally got tagged in. The match ran for over 21 minutes, with Reigns and Uso emerging as the winners. Women's Tag Team Championship match Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss was going to be an explosion of power-packed performance from the very beginning. Bliss and Flair were always the crowd favorite with their reluctant partnership act, and though the Judgment Day duo had a lot of power in them, it wasn't enough to overcome the veterans. The match ended with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss becoming the new WWE Women's Tag Team champions. Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross The first singles match of the night saw Sami Zayn and Karrion Kross come up against each other once again. The tides kept shifting from one side to another for the whole time. And of course, it wouldn't be complete without Scarlett trying to interfere for her partner, this time with a steel pipe, and then distracting the referee. But in this match-up, Zayn managed to take the win over Kross once again after a Helluva Kick to his opponent. WWE Women's Championship match Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill was the shortest match of the night, running for just a little over seven minutes. But both women kept the momentum of the night going with their powerful performances. The current Queen of the Ring challenged Stratton for her title belt, who has yet to lose a match this year. And Stratton showed Cargill why she is the reigning champion, as she managed to retain her belt after yet another title defense. Randy Orton and Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul This fight began even before the bell rang, when Logan Paul punched Jelly Roll, leading to a heated exchange between all four wrestlers. The fight was heated, with each one of them trying to gain the upper hand. Roll was almost led off the stage by officials after a splash by Paul turned way too much for the celebrity wrestler. But he came in to help his partner, Randy Orton . Unfortunately, it didn't work for long, and a Claymore Kick from Drew McIntyre and a Fall From Grace frogsplash from Paul, the match ended with Roll taking the pin. World Heavyweight Championship The main event of SummerSlam Night 1 saw CM Punk and GUNTHER come face to face for the third title match of the night. With the World Heavyweight Championship title on the line, GUNTHER was not going to have Punk take it away from him that easily. The match continued for more than 30 minutes before CM Punk finally emerged as the winner and the new World Heavyweight Champion of WWE. His emotions after getting the title belt and the tears spoke more than any words could. But the night is yet to end, as Seth Rollins walks in with Paul Heyman, who still has his Money in the Bank briefcase. But Rollins is injured, right? Well, not anymore, as he rushes in after throwing away his crutches and taking off his leg brace, and finally cashes in his MITB briefcase. It was too easy to pin an exhausted Punk, and ladies and gentlemen, Seth Rollins is now the newest World Heavyweight Champion of WWE. The Ruse of the Century indeed. Paul Heyman looks ecstatic, and that's curtains for Night 1 of SummerSlam 2025. WWE Evolution 2025 (July 13, 2025) Results: Judgement Day duo Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez retain Tag Team Championship title in Fatal-4-way match
Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez retain Tag Team Championship title (Image via WWE) Evolution 2025 is in full swing, with the WWE Women's Tag Team Champion match taking center stage. Teams from the RAW, SmackDown, and NXT divisions came together for an exciting time that had the fans screaming. Liv Morgan's unfortunate shoulder injury caused a disruption to the tag team lineup, leading Raquel Rodriguez to begrudgingly team up with Roxanne Perez, but the show must go on. They came up against the unlikely team-up of Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, who qualified for the title match by beating B-Fab and Michin, and the Secret Hervice. Hopefully, they can maintain their working camaraderie without compromising the outcome. The other two tag teams are RAW's the Kabuki Warriors - Kairi Sane and Asuka, and NXT's Sol Ruca and Zaria. These four teams had a fierce battle to come up as the dominant duo and rule over the others to become champions on this historic night. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez come out as winners of the fatal-4-way match The fatal four-way match started off well, fast-paced and full of action. Fans saw Kairi Sane going off on the new Judgement Day member, Roxanne Perez, with a drop kick. From there, it's a mess of who's going after whom. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The two teams go after one another, exchanging tags, before Sol Ruca and Zaria enter the ring as well. Finally, Alexa Bliss comes in after getting the tag, and the match is in full swing. Evolution Tag Teams (Image via WWE) It's a quick work of who will finally take the win as all four teams battle it out to come out on top. The NXT tag team gives a tough competition, as do the Kabuki Warriors, and while the duo of Bliss and Charlotte Flair brings some fun to the table, it is Raquel Rodriguez who retains her belt alongside Roxanne Perez as the Tag Team Champions. While Perez dives on Flair, it is her partner who gets Sol up for a one-armed powerbomb. The Judgment Day win by pinfall. Perez is over the moon with the win, and Rodriguez, too, looks adequately pleased with her new partner at the end of the match. Looks like a night full of wonder. Erick Rowan aids Wyatt Sicks in ending Street Profits' Tag Team Championship reign Erick Rowan played a major role in today's Tag Team Championship match. The Street Profits kicked off the match on a good note. Angelo Dawkins went head-on against Joe Gacy. The former pushed the latter to the corner of the ring. Initially, the Profits dominated the ring. However, Wyatt Sicks soon took over. Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis took their turns to land blows on the former champions. Both teams landed significant strikes on each other. The match shuffled in favor of both teams at regular intervals. Montez Ford showcased some brilliant moves with some high-flying landings from the heavens on Lumis. This was the point where Erick Rowan played a major role in changing the course of the match. With the landing by Ford, the wrestler himself was hurt a bit. He was taking a moment to reach Lumis and end the game. However, Ford was distracted as Rowan cleared him out of the ring. Even though Dawkins rushed at Rowan to clear him out of the way, it was too late. The distraction gave both Lumis and Gacy enough time to buckle up. Ford once again goes up top and tries to land a frog splash on Lumis. But he misses. Gacy and Lumis took control and landed a powerbomb on Ford. The Wyatt Sicks brought home the Tag Team Championship belt. Wyatt Sicks' win sends a message to the Tag Team Division The change in the championship holders will have a significant impact across the entire tag team championship. In a follow-up segment, a new team of Andrade and Fenix made their presence official. Their appearance in the backstage segment might be an indication of a future collision with the newly crowned champions. Tonight's match saw all the members of the Sicks present. Erick Rowan's presence played a major role in securing the win. Uncle Howdy and Nikki Cross were also present outside the ring. They entered once Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis claimed the championship belt. Also Read: Will Gunther turn babyface at Saturday Night's Main Event? Will Liv Morgan Leave Judgment Day? All You Need to Know About Her Apparent Replacement
Image via WWE Liv Morgan's 2025 has been a mixed bag. On one hand, she successfully captured her 4th Tag Team Championship with Raquel Rodriguez after WrestleMania 41 and elevated her status as one of the most prominent performers on the main roster. However, her momentum has come to a big halt owing to her disastrous shoulder injury on the June 16th edition of RAW. In a match against Kairi Sane, the former world champion suffered a nasty fall with her shoulder hitting the mat awkwardly. Morgan immediately rinsed in pain and rolled out of the ring while still holding her shoulder in agony. It was later reported that she had suffered a dislocated shoulder and would require surgery and thus taking her out of action for a couple of months. However, this absence has raised a big question about her place in Judgement Day. But why? Roxanne Perez Can Very Well Be Liv Morgan's Worst Nightmare in the Judgment Day On the June 30th edition of RAW, Roxanne Perez, along with Raquel Rodriguez, held onto the Women's Tag Team titles in the absence of Morgan, with the Judgment Day voting unanimously in her favor. This move saved Rodriguez from being forced to relinquish the belts in the absence of Morgan. Although Dominik Mysterio suggested talking to Morgan about the change but Finn Balor convinced the Intercontinental champion otherwise. Moreover, it was Balor who, along with JD McDonagh, convinced RAW and SmackDown GMs to nod in favor of Perez. This change further planted seeds of Perez permanently taking Morgan's place in the stable. Moreover, this isn't the first time something like this has happened. Perez has been a constant help to the stable and has also interfered in matches involving Morgan and Rodriguez. And ever since Mysterio captured the IC title at WrestleMania, Balor has realized that Morgan and Mysterio are now the top dogs of the stable. A position Balor yearned for after banishing Damien Priest. Many expected the Irishman to cost Mysterio the title just like he did to Priest, but instead, he has effectively used Perez as a point of contention between the new stable leaders. When Morgan eventually returns, she will certainly not be happy to find out about being replaced, all thanks to Balor's behind-the-scenes scheming. After all, Morgan is the same woman who, after the departures of Priest and Rhea Ripley, had become the de facto leader of Judgment Day. In storyline, Morgan had forced her way into the faction and ultimately Mysterio's arms, so it's only natural she now fears Roxanne Perez might be doing the same. WWE has been planting seeds for a Morgan face turn for some time, and now the moment feels right. A dramatic split from Judgment Day could launch her into a fresh run as one of WWE's top babyface stars.
