The earrings were created thanks to a wedding gift to the queen when she married Prince Philip in 1947, per The Court Jeweller. They were made with pearls from the Hakim of Bahrain, and the earrings also feature baguette and round diamonds. Queen Elizabeth wore the earrings publicly several times throughout her life, including in royal portraits and in the years before she became queen. Kate Middleton Is Keeping George, Charlotte and Louis Close in a Thoughtful Way During Scotland Trip

Kate Middleton debuted something new from her jewelry box that honors Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis during her trip to Scotland. On April 29, her wedding anniversary with Prince William, the Princess of Wales stepped out in Scotland for an official two-day trip across the isles of Mull and Iona with her husband. While Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 7, didn't tag along (and were likely busy with school), Princess Kate, 43, kept her children close with a set of necklaces. A close look showed that the Princess of Wales (who is called the Duchess of Rothesay or Lady of the Isles while in Scotland) layered two delicate gold necklaces as a tribute to her kids. The bespoke piece featured the initials G, C and L, representing the children in their birth order. The alphabet necklace wasn't all, as Kate added another that has long been in her collection. The Lady of the Isles (as she's technically called while in the Inner Hebrides of Mull and Iona) also wore her custom Gold Midnight Moon necklace from Daniella Draper. The royal has had it in her collection since at least 2020 and memorably wore it for the announcement unveiling The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in 2021. Kate created the center to advocate around the importance of the early years and advance outcomes for a brighter society, honing this focus with the 2023 launch of the Shaping Us campaign to raise greater awareness. The set of necklaces celebrating her children wasn't the only sentimental jewelry Kate wore in Mull, as the princess also slipped on her While Princess Kate was outside of the spotlight for most of 2024 after announcing that she was receiving treatment for cancer (since sharing in January that she is in remission), she switched up her signature style by occasionally skipping her iconic engagement ring in lieu of a sparkle ring stack. "The ring that Kate wore is definitely a newer addition to her jewelry box. It's a slim, sparkling eternity-style band with alternating light and dark gemstones," Lauren Kiehna, founder of The Court Jeweller blog, told PEOPLE about Kate's new ring, first spotted in August. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more! "Many of these eternity bands reflect family relationships. Given that her children's birthstones are rubies, emeralds and diamonds, it wouldn't surprise me if the gems set in the new ring are linked to George, Charlotte and Louis," Kiehna speculated of its significance. Queen Mary's daughter Princess Isabella debuts her first tiara - as she poses for a portrait with a VERY modern twist on her 18th birthday

Queen Mary and King Frederik X of Denmark's eldest daughter Princess Isabella has shared a new picture wearing her first ever tiara. To mark her 18th birthday on 21 April, the royal family released a stunning series of official birthday portraits of the princess. The pictures taken in the Knight's Hall of Frederick VIII's Palace in Amalienborg by photographer Steen Evald were shared to the Danish royal family's website and social media accounts on Isabella's birthday. The following day on 22 April, the Princess released an additional candid image to the Danish royal family's social media channels, which showed the relatable teenage princess holding her iPhone while decked out in her tiara and royal regalia. The caption alongside the latest image saw the Princess issuing a heartfelt 'thank you' to everyone who had 'helped me celebrate my 18th birthday'. It was also significantly the first time a social media message on the family's account was signed off personally as 'H.K.K Prinsesse Isabella'. The gorgeous new portrait series officially marked the first time the teenage princess has worn a tiara. The Danish Royal House confirmed that former monarch Queen Margrethe II gifted her granddaughter the turquoise daisy bandeau diadem as an 18th birthday gift. A translated statement from the royal household explained: 'The tiara is a so-called 'bandeau', a headband in French, as the relatively narrow tiara is intended to be worn almost horizontally as a hair band.' The statement explained that the floral headpiece is made of gold and adorned with 11 rosettes of 'daisy-like flowers' that decrease in size. The delicate headpiece has added sentimental value because it features precious gems in a flower setting arrangement. This is significant because Queen Margrethe's nickname amongst he inner circle is 'Daisy'. The tiara is a family heirloom, with the royal statement expanding on the history of the bejewelled piece. 'The tiara was made in the late 19th century and belonged to Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden. After her untimely death in 1920, her daughter, Princess Ingrid, received the tiara as a confirmation gift and brought it to Denmark upon her marriage to the later Frederik IX.' The statement added that it was a versatile and convertible headpiece. 'Like many other pieces of the Royal House's jewelry, the tiara has multiple functions, as it can be disassembled and used as a bracelet'. According to The Court Jeweller, the young royal's new tiara forms part of a turquoise parure, which refers to a set of matching jewels. Interestingly, Isabella's mother Queen Mary is the current owner of the matching turquoise drop earrings and brooch from the parure, which were gifted to her by Queen Margrethe on her 50th birthday. Naturally, Mary, 53, happily loaned the earrings to her eldest daughter to wear for her 18th birthday portrait photoshoot. Mary was recently seen wearing the same earrings when she attended King Charles III's coronation in May 2023. Meanwhile, Queen Margrethe, 85, has also previously been seen wearing the turquoise daisy bandeau tiara that she's now gifted to Isabella. For instance, she wore it at a 2012 state banquet dinner she hosted in honour of the visiting Chinese President. Margrethe has also occasionally loaned the delicate tiara out to family members, including her niece Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark, who borrowed the headpiece to wear during the then-Queen's Ruby Jubilee celebrations. For the new portraits, Isabella donned a regal orange satin gown created by up and coming Danish designer, Carina Grønning. The teen princess also showcased her significant Order of the Elephant sash and regalia on top of the dress as well as a miniature portrait of King Frederik. The picture of her monarch father is set in a gold frame encircled by 12 white pearls and 12 small diamond crosses, symbolizing the Order of Dannebrog. The portrait was painted in watercolour on a thin slice of mammoth ivory by British miniaturist Tom Mulliner. The new portrait images of Princess Isabella were shared on the Danish royal website and social media accounts alongside the caption: '18 years ago today Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella was born'. 'The birthday itself is marked with the publication of the Princess's first official gala portraits.' 'The princess is photographed in the Knight's Hall of Frederick VIII's Palace in Amalienborg, and on the portraits Her Royal Highness wears the Order of the Elephant with a star chest... and a miniature Order portrait of her father, His Majesty the King.'

Princess Catharina-Amalia Has a Rare Tiara Moment

Princess Catharina-Amalia continues to prepare for her role as a future monarch with another appearance at a state visit—and she did so in full princess regalia. For the occasion, the princess chose the Mellerio Ruby Parure Tiara, paired with the "Ginkgo" dress by British label Safiyaa in lavender. The tiara, from the Dutch royal family's collection, was made for the family by French jewelry maker Mellerio, founded in 1613. According to The Court Jeweller, the tiara was created 'for Queen Emma around 1888 as a part of a larger ruby parure.' Every Dutch queen since Emma has worn the tiara, including Queen Máxima, who wore it last at a state banquet welcoming in honor of Portugal this past December. At that banquet, Princess Catharina-Amalia donned the Dutch Star Tiara. The Princess of Orange appeared with her parents, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, on Tuesday as they welcomed Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman during a state banquet on the first night of a two-day state visit. This is Princess Catharina-Amalia's third state banquet, nearly a year to the day of her first one on April 17, 2024, welcoming King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain. The princess, who turned 21 in December, is first in line to the throne to the throne of the Netherlands, and her presence at the banquet highlights her rising profile. Princess Catharina-Amalia, eldest child of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, has used the title 'Princess of Orange'—a title that can only be held by the heir to the throne—since her father's investiture as King of the Netherlands in 2013. She has two younger sisters, Princess Alexia, 19, and Princess Ariane, 18, neither of whom were present this evening. Princess Catharina-Amalia is currently studying for her bachelor's degree at the University of Amsterdam. The Future Queen of Norway Trades Camo Fatigues For a 125-Year-Old Tiara and Her Mom's Old Evening Gown

Princess Ingrid Alexandra celebrated her 21st birthday earlier this year, and now she's marked two other huge milestones. The princess, who is set to become Norway's future queen one day, officially completed her compulsory military training earlier this month, and on April 8, she took part in her first state visit. For the occasion, the military graduate swapped her uniform for a sparkling tiara—and while her jewels were more than a century old, her gown was also a familiar piece. The princess joined her parents Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon for a state banquet held in honor of Iceland's president Halla Tómasdottir and her husband Björn Skúlason. Ingrid Alexandra looked stunning in a pale blue evening dress featuring asymmetrical tiered ruffles, pairing the gown with the Boucheron Pearl Circle tiara. If the dress looks familiar, it's because Ingrid Alexandra's mother wore the same pale blue gown to Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden's 2010 wedding. In a sweet full circle moment, Princess Ingrid Alexandra—who was a flower girl in Victoria and Daniel's royal wedding—posed with her mother for photos when Mette-Marit wore the tiered dress. Princess Ingrid Alexandra received her glittering tiara as an 18th birthday present in 2022, and according to The Court Jeweller, it "was likely purchased by Prince Carl of Sweden from Boucheron" after the luxury jeweler showed the piece at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris. The tiara was then passed down through the Swedish and Norwegian royal families, and most recently was owned by King Harald of Norway's sister, Princess Ragnhild, who lived in Brazil until her 2012 death. While it's unknown how the design—which features overlapping diamond circles with pearl accents—came into Ingrid Alexandra's possession, it once belonged to her great-great-grandmother Princess Ingeborg. Princess Ingrid Alexandra wore the historic tiara for her official 18th birthday portraits as well as to her lavish birthday party, which was attended by three other future European queens. As for her military service, Private Alexandra told reporters (via Royal Central), 'It will be very nice [to graduate] in one way, but also very sad, because there are many people I have gotten to know well and have grown to love very much."
