Miley Cyrus felt like a ‘misfit' at 2025 Met Gala
The singer has admitted that she felt out of place at the star-studded fashion event because she wasn't part of a group representing a particular designer. Miley explained on the latest episode of The New York Times podcast The Interview, "I was wearing Alaïa - who does not have a table - so I was kind of the misfit, which I'm always OK with." The Flowers hitmaker added that she is no stranger to feeling uncomfortable, saying, "I'm used to that, it was fine, but it's just an interesting situation because…'

Miley Cyrus felt ‘prepared' for fame when she first tasted success
Popstar-actress Miley Cyrus tasted major success in her teenage years when she was cast in the title role in the sitcom 'Hannah Montana'. However, she said that she has always had an "understanding" of how the business of celebrity works. "I've known fame since the moment I was born, I've never known anything else so I was really well prepared in a way that really hard to train yourself to know what to expect on everything that fame can bring," the daughter of 'Achy Breaky Heart' hitmaker Billy Ray Cyrus and goddaughter of country legend Dolly Parton told The New York Times 'The Interview' podcast. She added: "But I already had the handbook because they did the same thing to my dad, and to Dolly and to everyone around me. Dolly is a great example of that, so I felt know what I think it is? I understand the business I'm in. I am in the music industry, I'm in the record business. "When I sign a contract, they're buying records that they wish to sell, so I understand that I am setting myself up to become merchandise. I am committing to them that I not only want to bring success to myself, but to them also. So I understand the music industry," said the "Flowers" hitmaker The singer, who has just released her ninth studio album 'Something Beautiful', only received her first Grammy Award in 2024 for her hit song 'Flowers' and had spent years wondering what she had to do to get that sort of recognition but, prior to her win, had decided that the "validation" she craved came from her millions of fans around the globe instead, reports She said: "There were other Disney artists who dominated in those categories. I don't know who else before that, but there was The Jonas Brothers. It was boys, so they didn't have a character to shed, but because I wore a wig and I was a pop star…" "I remember being broken-hearted because The Jonas Brothers got asked to perform with Stevie Wonder, and I never got an opportunity like that as a young girl. "My show had been on air for years before, and I'd had everyone on that show - Dolly Parton, Vicki Lawrence, who taught me so many amazing things, so was actually the greatest blessing that those awards never happened because I was recognised all the time by millions of people. "Their identities were being formed by me. There's a part of them that's a little part of me. I love that people became my reward. People loved me and that feel good. Of course, every year, never having my name called, and I was working so hard." "Not necessarily saying that I deserved it, but I felt like 'What am I not doing?' Where's the math? Because if we're doing the equation, I feel like it equals some sort of validation.

Miley Cyrus opens up about why she hasn't had children and how she feels about motherhood in vulnerable interview
Miley Cyrus has opened up about why she hasn't had children in a new and vulnerable interview. The hitmaker, 32, revealed she isn't 'passionate' about motherhood as she got candid about being child-free. Speaking on The New York Times' The Interview podcast, Miley used a conversation about celebrity make-up brands to explain her position on having children. 'My stepdad asked me the other day, "Why are you the only one without a makeup line?"' she said. 'I was like, "Cause that's not my passion." He goes, "That's the right answer." And it made so much sense. It's like, "I don't have a makeup line because I'm not a makeup artist."' She continued: 'I feel that way about motherhood. It's just never been something that I've been overly passionate about.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'It's a lot of responsibility and devotion and energy, and if you're not passionate about that, I don't know how you do sleepless nights and 18 years of what my mum dealt with,' Miley added. 'And when I say 18 years, I mean 33, 'cause I'm still a baby. So I've never felt the burn, you know? And I think for me, the burn is everything.' Miley previously spoke about her position on children in an interview with SiriusXM Hits 1's The Morning Mash Up, confessing that starting a family has never been a priority for her. 'I never really cared that much,' she said. 'I am sure that my fans are going to pull up me at 12 saying 'Oh I want to have kids' but like I don't, as a 27 year old woman that would have a little bit more of a realistic idea of what they want. That has never been kind of my priority.' The Wrecking Ball hitmaker added that if she ever was to become a mother, she'd prefer to adopt when she thinks about the environmental issues and limited resources on earth. 'I actually think in a way, just looking at our climate change and our water and food it feels like to me if anything to me if anything that I would like to take someone that is on the earth. I love adoption and I think that's really amazing. 'I definitely don't think, I do not shame anyone that wants to have children. I just personally don't believe that's a priority for me in my life…. 'For me I don't just really think about marriage and things like this anymore…' It comes after Miley broke her silence on her father Billy Ray Cyrus ' shock new romance with Elizabeth Hurley, saying it has enabled her to love both her parents 'as individuals' and that seeing them happy has helped her finally 'grow up'. 'As I've gotten older, I respect my parents as individuals instead of as parents because, you know, my mom really loved my dad for her whole life,' said the pop icon who debuted her new single Easy Lover on Thursday. 'I took on some of my mom's hurt as my own, because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult. So I owned a lot of her pain as mine.' Speaking candidly on The Interview, a New York Times podcast, she added: 'But now that my mom is so in love with my stepdad, Dom, who I completely adore, and now that I see my dad finding happiness outside of that too, I can love them both as individuals instead of as a kind of parental pairing. I'm being an adult about it.' Miley's mom Tish, 58, split from country singer Billy Ray in 2022 after 28 years of marriage, and their divorce was finalised in 2023. She married Prison Break star Dominic Purcell in August the same year. 'At first, it's hard,' Miley added of her dad's new romance, 'because the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, yes, that's your dad - but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy. So my adult self has caught up. My child self has caught up.' Billy Ray, 63, was first linked to actress Elizabeth, 59, in April this year, following the end of his short-lived marriage to 36-year-old singer Firerose. The pair reportedly bonded over their shared love of horses and rural life, with a source saying at the time: 'It's early days but they've genuinely hit it off.' Reflecting on the relentless scrutiny surrounding her famous family and why today's media cycle makes those moments easier to weather - Miley continued: 'The thing I like about the new way that the world works is that everything is so fast, it's forgotten really quickly. In the Nineties when something happened... it would just last for a year. Now it's just gone. 'Social media moves so fast. It just eats everything. Something may seem really important for a couple hours but then there's a meme that goes viral - somebody scats at Walmart or something - and that becomes the next thing.'

Miley Cyrus Says Dad Billy Ray Is 'Finding Happiness' in His New Relationship With Elizabeth Hurley
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Miley Cyrus is leaving the family drama behind her, or at least she's trying to. The singer has been in promo mode as she celebrates the release of her new album Something Beautiful, and during a recent stop by The New York Times' The Interview podcast, Miley opened up about her relationship with her dad and even addressed Billy Ray's relationship with Elizabeth Hurley. Speaking about her sometimes complex relationship with her parents, Miley said that she 'took on some of [her] mom's hurt' when Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray divorced in 2022, which led to her estrangement form her father. Miley didn't even thank Billy Ray in her Grammys accptence speech, fueling more rumors of a Cyrus family feud. But now that her mom is married to actor Dominic Purcell and Billy Ray is dating Elizabeth, Miley says she feels like her 'adult self has caught up.' She continued, 'My mom is like so in love with my stepdad Dom, who I also just completely adore. And now that my dad, I see him finding happiness outside of that too, I can love them both as individuals instead of as a kind of, you know, a parental pairing.' 'At first, it's hard,' Miley said of seeing her parents back in the dating pool. 'The little kid in you reacts before the adult in you and go, 'Yes, that's your dad, but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and be happy.'' This show of public support comes about a month after Miley commented on the family feud and announced that she and her father had reconciled. 'My dad and I have had our challenges over the years. Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else. I'm at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing,' she wrote on her Instagram Stories. Billy hasn't commented on his renewed family relationships, but he has been very public with his new love. Elizabeth and Billy Ray hard launched their on Instagram six weeks ago with an Easter post featuring Billy Ray wearing green bunny ears and kissing Elizabeth on the cheek, and they've been posting about each other ever since. No word on whether or not Miley's hung out with them yet, though. Miley Cyrus Sets The Record Straight On Her Estrangement With Dad Billy Ray Cyrus
Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus are back on better terms. The singer opened up about her strained relationship with her father in a vulnerable sit-down with The New York Times 'The Interview' podcast. Interviewer Lulu Garcia-Navarro asked Cyrus if she was still estranged from her dad, to which she said 'no.' 'I think timing is everything,' the 32-year-old said. 'As I've gotten older, I'm respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents — because my mom really loved my dad for her whole life, and I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is obviously really hard.' The 'Flowers' singer said she thought she 'took on some of my mom's hurt as my own because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult, and so I owned a lot of her pain.' Now that both of her parents are with other people, Cyrus said that she 'can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing.' 'I'm being an adult about it,' she said. 'At first it's hard, because the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, 'Yes, that's your dad, but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy.' My child self has caught up.' Speculation swirled that Cyrus and her 'Achy Breaky Heart' father were on strained terms after her siblings appeared to take sides following their parents' 2022 divorce. Cyrus previously denied being estranged from her father in an interview with David Letterman last year, in which she spoke about Billy Ray's 'narcissism' and said she was mostly raised by her mother. During the sit-down, Letterman said, 'There's not estrangement here with your father, it's just, kinda, the way things are played?' 'Yeah,' Cyrus said at the time. 'I think, what is so beautiful is that my parents ― they served their children, and I know this. My parents served us and sacrificed so much for us. Anything we dreamed of, they made possible.' Despite Cyrus' denial of a rift with her father, the singer seemed to purposefully leave her father out of her acceptance speech when she won her first Grammy in early 2024. She thanked her mom, sister Brandi Cyrus and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando ― seemingly leaving out her other siblings and father on purpose as she shouted out: '...all the people that we love! I don't think I've forgotten anyone.' To add to the speculation, Miley Cyrus and two of her siblings attended their mom Tish's wedding to 'Prison Break' actor Dominic Purcell in 2023. Notably absent were Cyrus' two siblings ― Braison and Noah Cyrus, the latter of whom was photographed wearing a Billy Ray Cyrus shirt over Tish's wedding weekend.
