Miley Cyrus says receiving a Hollywood Walk of Fame star "feels like a dream".
The 32-year-old singer and actress has been announced as part of the class of 2026 alongside the likes of Demi Moore, Timothée Chalamet, Shaquille O'Neal and more.
Reacting to the announcement on Instagram, Miley wrote: 'When I first came to LA from Nashville as a little girl, my family would stay at a hotel on Hollywood Blvd, and I would go on late night walks with my dad when no one would recognize him.
'To now be cemented on this legendary boulevard, surrounded by the icons who inspired me, feels like a dream.
"This moment will live forever, thank you to everyone in my life who made it possible. I am grateful to share this star with you. (sic)"
On Wednesday (02.07.25), the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced 35 famous faces spanning five categories - motion pictures, television, live theatre/live performance, recording and sports entertainment - to receive the honour.
They said: "We are honored to welcome you to the Walk of Fame Class of 2026!"
Among those on the list on the film side are Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci, Rami Malek, Chris Columbus, Marion Cotillard and Molly Ringwald.
The television group includes the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Sarah Michelle Gellar, with comedian Gabriel 'Fluffy' Inglesias, while Miley is part of the recording list alongside Josh Groban, The Clark Sisters, Bone Thugs 'N Harmony and more.
Shaquille O'Neal is the only name in the sports entertainment category.
Although recognised for her career in music, Miley started as an actress in Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana, but has since only appeared in a handful of films as she chose to focus on her singing.
In May, she told the New York Times newspaper's The Interview podcast: "I became an actress so I could bring that part to life and then I just never really found the role for me because I'm such a character in myself that to find something that can absorb me completely is really challenging.
"And I challenge every writer and director out there to bring it to me because I would love to.
"I either want to be myself because I'm really good at that, or I wanna throw me away because I'm really good at that too. I'm not good in the middle."

Miley Cyrus planning 'something really special' for Hannah Montana's 20th anniversary

Miley Cyrus is planning 'something really special' for Hannah Montana's 20th anniversary. Miley, 32, shot to fame in the Disney show – which ran for four seasons from 2006 to 2011 – and she revealed she would love to pay tribute to the series with a special celebration next year. She told SiriusXM's TikTok Radio: 'I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today. Without Hannah, there really wouldn't be this kind of… this me.' The show starred Cyrus as Miley Stewart, a teenage girl living a double life as famous pop singer Hannah Montana and Miley is excited to celebrate the character. She said: 'It's so crazy to think, too, that I started as a character that I thought was going to be impossible to shed. And now that's something that when I walk into a space, it's looked at as this sense of nostalgia or something that you have from your childhood, but I've now been as kind of integrated into everyone's life as the character itself. So that's exciting to get to celebrate that.' While Miley was initially keen to shed her squeaky clean image and leave the character behind after the show ended, she revealed last year that she still feels a lot of affection for Hannah Montana. During her speech as she accepted her award as a Disney Legend, Miley said: 'A little bit of everything has changed, ... but at the same time, nothing has changed at all, I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana. "In so many ways, this award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality. To quote the legend herself, 'This is the life.' " And, Miley would be open to revisiting the character. During an appearance on the Carolina With Greg T In The Morning radio show in 2020, she said: "You know what honestly, I try to put that wig on all the time. She's just in storage collecting dust and I'm ready to whip her out ... The opportunity will present itself. "I definitely would like to resurrect her at some point. She needs a big makeover because she's kinda stuck in 2008, so we'll need to go shopping with Miss Montana."

It's hard to maintain sobriety while touring, says Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus thinks it's "really hard to maintain sobriety" while touring. The 32-year-old pop star hasn't paired an album with live shows since her Bangerz Tour back in 2014, and Miley has now revealed that she has no intention of hitting the road anytime soon. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Miley - who quit using marijuana in 2017 - explained: "It's really hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is kind of a pillar of stability in my life. None of this that I create would even be possible without the way I think about things." Miley also thinks there's an insufficient "infrastructure" for touring artists. The pop star said: "I do have the physical ability. I have the opportunities to tour, I wish I had the desire, but I don't. I also don't think that there's an infrastructure that supports artists.' Miley acknowledged that touring has negatively impacted her mental health in the past. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker said: "I do think it's really hard to keep mental wellness." In 2023, Miley admitted that touring "isn't healthy" for her. The singer has enjoyed huge success in her music career - but Miley believes that touring "erases [her] humanity" and stifles her ability to write new songs. The Flowers hitmaker explained in a TikTok video: "Having every day the relationship between you and other humans being subject and observer isn't healthy for me because it erases my humanity and my connection. And without my humanity and my connection, I can't be a songwriter, which is my priority." Miley also reflected on the differences between herself and her dad, music star Billy Ray Cyrus. The chart-topping singer admitted that she had financial and emotional stability during her younger years, whereas her dad was forced to struggle through the early years of his life. Miley explained: "My dad grew up the opposite of me. "I grew up on a soundstage, like in a house with a family who was super close and all lived under the same roof, and I grew up financially stable and emotionally stable, I think, in my relationships also. That's something that my dad didn't have."
